Polian is a *. The reasons why he got fired: 1. Nepotism is never a good idea 2. The whole system was all about Manning and we lacked talent all over the field
-
They drafted a guy who has played center. Holmes is a guy Grigson likes, and they brought in Costa. What else would you have had him do?
I don't think they drafted Mewhort to play Center. Problem ist that Grigson counted on Players like Donald Thomas who came back from a serious injury and now is on IR again. Holmes is a talented guy but he had injury issues before and is actually a rookie so counting on that Players is in my opinion a bit risky. I don't know about Costa but I can't believe his retirement was just something that came up from one day to another. And Offensive Line was one of our weaknesses the last years and I'm a bit skeptical that we did enough to solve this problem. Again we don't have much depth and if another lineman goes down for the whole season we are in Trouble again.

Who knew Phil Costa would retire
He wasn't the only Center available and I hope they talked to him before. I'm not a Grigson hater don't get me wrong but counting on guys with injury issues is just not a good idea especially if you don't have quality backups and your weakness was a bad OL the last years. Still hope it is nothing serious!

Costa retired and DT got hurrt
With Thomas coming back from a serious injury, Holmes with injury issues too and no experience Grigson did not much to improve our biggest weakness last season. And now Thomas out again for the whole season and Holmes down and we are just one IR away from beeing again in huge OL trouble.

yeah what a great choice to go all in with Holmes Grigson...
-
I don't like it. Totally unnecessary and stupid behavior and there are better ways for team building...
-
If another Offensive Lineman goes down we are (again) in big trouble. I know they drafted Mewhort and signed Louis but In my opinion not enough to improve our weakest point last year.
-
They really like Lankford and talked to him before. Here is a report about him:
-
I would say it depends on how the Offensive Line plays this season. If they can solidify to a Top 15 Offensive Line I would go with CB and S for the first to rounds next year. Toler will once again proof that he can't stay healthy and we could use some more talent of the Safety position even if Howell plays good.
-
I think Harrison will be our back up Center!
-
I really love the signings of Harrison and Walker and think both will make at least the Practice Squad. Harrison will give Austin a hard fight for the backup role at Center!

It's a project like Adongo

Well what did you expect? Grigson complaining about the picks he made? Only time will tell how good or bad this draft class is... I hope we found some answers for our Offensive Line another big construction area for next year will be the secondary. I don't trust Tolers health and at the Safety positions we don't have very much...

Sam to the Rams! Congrats!

when can they sign udfa? right after the draf?
-
It's an interesting draft. I like that they addressed the Offensive Line but prefered some other names. I'm shocked they didn't draft a CB or Safety. Toler isn't going to play more than 50% of the games and we don't have much quality depth at the Safety position. This is gonna be either one of the worst drafts in Colts history or one of the most surprising ;-)

Interesting draft

I like it. Offensive Line is a huge need. He can play all positions and we don't have much quality depth. The value of a guy like Mewhort is very underrated and probably other teams were interested in him too thats why the Colts took him in the 2nd. I can see the Colts make a trade to grab a Safety/Cornerback in the early 4th round. Keith McGill is still out there...
-
I like it. Offensive Line was a huge liability over the last years and we have done nothing until the pick to improve it.
-
I love it.
Pretty much all I read on here after Costa was signed was how bad he sucked.
Now that he inexplicably retires, all the sudden we have a gaping hole on the offensive line?
Wrong. It's not about Costa it's about the lack of effort to improve the Offensive Line SO FAR that concerns a lot of people. If your Offensive Line is one of your major problems and you did virtually nothing to solve this problem and rely on a guy that only played a few snaps and another guy coming back after spending a whole season on IR that's a bit scary.

With Andrew Luck at QB, you only need a Top 20 offensive line, he'll do the rest
Maybe but If you wanna run succesfully you need more than just a top 20 line ;-)
