  1. For those keeping score at home, this is where we stand at the moment. What do we think is our biggest need now as we kick off the new league year in a few hours? For me, I think it's safety, edge and backup QB.
  2. Yep. The more I think about it and from what Chris has said about the WR room (and now that Pittman has been signed), I think he might be taking an edge in the first round. That is unless we do something in the next week or so.
  3. I'd be okay with Dillon backing up Taylor. He's "Hines-like" being able to run and catch.
  4. Jared Verse might be a guy for you to watch. I can't see Dallas Turner being there at 15, but if he is I think we'd definitely have to take him.
  5. LOL see what I mean, I couldn't tell your sarcasm from responding to someone else's sarcasm hahaha...
  6. Actually reports have stated he took a little bit less than he asked for to come home to Houston. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/vikings/minnesota-vikings-free-agency-tracker-day-2-reports-rumors-live-updates#:~:text="He actually took less to,to agree to the terms.
  7. Ha, now you're the one being sarcastic. I'm far from a genius. It can be hard to read sarcasm online. I highly respect @jvan1973. Known them for years. Was just helping out.
  8. That's the very nature of Ballard and why we don't spend much money on other free agents, we're paying our own. I don't really have a problem with that philosophy, I just think "the trenches" (focusing on interior lineman) is a bit of an overrated and outdated way to build a team in today's NFL. QB, LT, WR, EDGE. The most successful teams have at least 3 if not 4 of those positions figured out. As for the Vikings, I guess it's rebuild time. Hopefully they can retool and get back to contention in a few years.
  9. I agree. That’s why I try to keep myself in check during this part of the season. I know going in what Ballard’s plan is: retain homegrown players first, bulk up trenches, sign other FAs on team friendly deals. For us, the biggest spending during the new league year is on keeping our drafted players. We’re paying Taylor and Pittman some big dollars. We’re also saying to them that it’s on their shoulders to get us into real contention. I don’t really agree with his approach on what the most important positions of the team are, but it doesn’t matter. I’m just a fan. But none of what has transpired yesterday and today is surprising.
  10. That would be nuts. I don’t see it happening to be honest, but I’d certainly be having some high expectations if it were to happen.
  11. My post didn’t explain myself very clearly. That’s what I meant to say: that it’s not surprising Mahomes is restructuring.
  12. I was expecting Kansas to do this. Mahomes has all the money he could ever need. They’re chasing history now.
  13. I’m not a Gus fan either. But it is what it is at this point. Truth be told Ballard’s a fan of the Bradley defensive scheme, so even if Gus were to leave we’d still have a similar defense.
  14. Eh, close proximity to big east coast cities, beaches and so on makes it probably a bit more enticing than Indianapolis. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Hoosier through and through, but I've traveled to all 50 states and know we're definitely not in the top 20.
  15. Understandable. I've said this many times over the years, but I'm sure Ballard is actively trying to get players here. FA's can't be forced to come here. Blame it on money sure, but I blame the environment as well... Indiana just isn't a destination place to live. People come here either because it's relatively cheap or because they have family here... The winters suck, the summers are overly humid... And on top of those factors, you have a relatively new head coach, an unproven young QB and a team that isn't ready to compete with the big dogs... A lot of players are going to look at Indiana and say, naw...
  16. That's the benefit of knowing what they have in CJ Stroud. They're right to load up as much talent around him to continue his development.
  17. I think he'll be the starter for at least this season for them. And good for him honestly, I hope he does well. My random thought: Joe Mixon to Houston is not good news for us.
  18. Agreed. They need to get their act together this year to have any chance of success.
  19. Bengals will need to hope that Moss has the ability to get crucial yards in a must win scenario like Mixon did to put away the Bills last year.
  20. I like Moss, but I don’t think Cincy has improved after tonight. So far, I’d say the Chiefs are still looking the best. Mahomes, Kelce and now Jones are running it back. They’ve got Pacheco, and will improve at WR either through the draft or FA. Biggest question for them now is Snead.
