I think the coaching issue is mostly in the game plan and adjusting in game rather than teaching players. I mean look at Vontae. He was a talented player with off field issues but Chuck has been able to coach him into a all pro at CB.

I think motor and conditioning were the knocks on him. But Cincy has a lot of high round picks that never reach potential, so it might just be a coaching issue.
I'm not sure Indy is the cure for the coaching issue...

That's cool & all, but they didn't really have a ton of tape to watch for preparation considering it was week 1, and the Bills have a new coach. There's no way to know how their defense was going to attack the Colts' offense with Ryan at the helm. Buffalo did a great job disguising their coverages, and had Luck flat out confused. Give credit to Buffalo.

Him and Big Ben have been hit more than any QBs. Arians play calling is not slow delivery QBs best calls. Every QB that has started for Arians have taken way too many hits. Arians down field play calling does not fit QBs like Luck and Big Bens type of play.
I agree with Arians long bombs getting QBs killed.
However, what was with Peps play calling on Sunday? Why weren't there more quick slants, screens and such that would have helped slow down the blitz? Or were those plays called but no one open? I have to say completely abandoning the run so early didn't help matters.

He probably audibles out of runs because the run plays called in has the whole team all bunched up creating a formation that resembles a ball of players...a rolling ball of butcher knives maybe? I kid...but not really.
Is pep allergic to running out of a spread formation? Seriously.

I think the world of Andrew Luck's intelligence and talent. But I worry that he his being given the responsibility for changing the plays without having the necessary education and sufficient knowledge to do so. That points to inadequate coaching, IMO. There is a huge difference between sandlot football and pro football, but both kinds of games are "played".
No one, no matter how talented, can reach their potential without good coaching. That's true in football, business, almost any aspect of life.
I agree. They (us fans are part of they) are asking him to be year 6-12 Peyton in Luck's 3rd/4th year. People, and coaches, need to realize that.

I am with BigMcAfeeWithCheese on this. Wilburn has a long history of disliking Irsay and it shows. Wilburn would just love to see Luck go to one of his loved east coast teams.

Yes, Frank is a great running back & he is also to be commended for overcoming personal adversity too. I'd never refer to Frank as "dumb" personally because like NCF so eloquently said a lot of people deal with learning disabilities on a daily basis. I, myself, have one in math.
I think what you are getting at is this: Mr. Gore is to be praised for not giving up on his football dreams simply because reading was a difficult challenge to him. Essentially, Frank never gave up or threw in the towel. Also, low Wonderlic scores means virtually nothing since intelligence comes in many forms not just taking a stardardized test well. No harm done ricker182.
I am the opposite. Great at math and can think outside the box which has helped me become awesome at my job but struggle with public speaking. Not really a LD but more of social anxiety issues. Get me in front of more than 3-4 people and it becomes hard for me to get my point across. It sucks.

I was watching Mike and Mike on ESPN 2 I think and first take came on next but I was playing with my son so couldn't change the channel fast enough. Got to see what's his face almost start crying when he was talking about Brady's "win". Brady didn't win crap...whatever. If I was Goddell, I would say forget it...it's a free for all...do what you want guys, no punishments are coming from me anymore! Have fun with you roids and cheat away!!!

This is one of the many reasons we should have went DL with our first pick. Look I love Dorsett but in comparison to the Colts needs, Is like us having to move 50 tons of dirt and buying a Lamborghini instead of the dump truck you really need for the job!
I couldn't afford either but if I could, I would get the Lambo and hire someone else to move the dirt...if you think about it, thats essentially what Grigs did, but now the dump truck has a flat tire.

How do some people not know who Sio Moore is??? First up he's an ILB with us. 2nd he was really good with Oakland last year. The only thing I don't understand is the logjam it creates at the ILB position. DQ, Free, Sio, and Irving are all starting caliber LBs. But yeah really, really good pickup.
I'm one of those people but based off the comments about him...I LIKE IT!

Yes. Werner has always suited better as a 4-3 DE.
What would he do better as a 4-3 DE? When I think 4-3 DE, I think of Freeney and Mathis. He doesn't remind me of either of those guys. Am I missing something?
