  1. Some NFL fans around Indianapolis keep touting the line "it's a young mans game". However, it is the VETERANS that TEACH this young mans game! The combination of young talent (and yet to be more) and veterans solidify the meaning of a winning organization. Congrats to the Colts for the impeccable balance shown so far in reaching that end goal for everyone.

  2. I wouldn't underestimate Mallett.  At least not yet, he has the arm to be a good QB in the league.  There is only so much you can learn on the bench and he languished behind Tom Brady for 3 years then got traded to the Texans after camp (so he didn't have the time to learn the playbook) and then got injured when he finally got on the field.

Don't get me wrong, no guarantees on him.  But with the Texans defense and Arian Foster, he doesn't really have to great to make them a dangerous team.

This guy was a beast at Arkansas. If they give him a chance barring injury (and from the past) he could prove to be very dangerous.
  3. I don't see how we can possibly deserve to be favorites over NE or SEA.... Seattle got the big weapon in the receiving game that they needed and NE has yet to beat us by less than 20 points in the Andrew Luck era.  I would love if this year is the year we beat the Pats, preferably in the AFC championship, but until that run defense and Patriot game planning take a huge step forward, I know where I'm placing my bets.

All that being said, I know that we can beat any team in this league.  Favorites or not.

"Patriot game panning" ... Why cannot some of our fan base see the forest 'fore the trees? Indianapolis --IS-- "game planning". Fighting fire "with" fire. They say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, the Colts have done that by calculating and replicating Belichick & company et.al. Come the 2015 season, ColtsNation will finally realize this just as Irsay, Grigson, Pagano, Chudzinsky already have.
  4. all the Seattle dlineman and most of the patriots lineman are studs... not even close to what we have had/are doing.

This is exactly the problem of the old mentality. It's not just about the O-linemen and D-linemen ... it's about the "entire" team system and it's implementation thereof of schematics. The O-line of the Colts and the D-line of the Colts are not yet a finished product. It will be by the start of the 2015 season. Bank on it!
  5. New England is in for the scare of their lives "before" they play the Colts this coming season. Belichick and company won't be the only ones NOT wanting to face Indianapolis! Try the ENTIRE league. Schematic football just added a BEAST. And it ain't in the state of Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Texas, Colorado, or Washington. Move over Beethoven and tell Chelkowski the news.

  6. I'm going to try and explain what I've been plastering all over the Colts Forums and Sites the last several days as the Colts entered Free-Agency. The new era of NFL football is called "systematic". Meaning, that certain teams up to this point and date have been using for a while. i.e. ... New England, Seattle, Denver, Dallas ... and now ... Indianapolis. The way this thing works is completely opposite of old. Teams fill holes and gaps by acquiring players that best fit certain situations and plays. Not necessarily best talent and beast modes. By doing this the teams can figure out what kind of versatility is at stake with each player and incorporate that ideology into a bigger picture of yards per play. Evaluating the talent to do this is the hard part. Once derived ... it's really easy and simplistic to figure out. Look at those four teams over the past 5 years and you'll see what others see. Belichik's figured this out a long while ago. Others are taking note and implementing. The Indianapolis a Colts have finally learned this lesson. Kudos to my team!;)

    GO COLTS !!! ;)

  7. I just finished reading this entire thread up to this post. Schematic football. Systematic football with "correct positioning" to

compliment all players. Again, there's a new era of football in the NFL. New England and Seattle have had it for some time

now. What did "that" get them? ;) Indianapolis has learned the new format of the success manual in the NFL. Better get used

to it ... because it's not going anywhere ... and it don't take prisoners. Irsay, Grigson, and Pagano finally got it. Watch out AFC.

  9. Welcome to the Indianapolis Colts, Frank Gore! You are nothing shy of being the tireless NFL back

I've ever seen run a football (that comes from 50 years a Colts fan!). The durability that you possess

is absolutely incredible. Keep on running that rock into a head-on collision with a Super Bowl. You

deserve to be at that pinnacle. Hopefully, it's here in Indianapolis! ;)

  10. "Beat out ... by a rookie". Understood. However, the Colts are trying (I've been trying to explain this lately) to implement a "systematic"

football team that plugs in "correct positioning" to compliment all players. New England (along with a couple other teams) has been doing this for years now. The rest of the NFL had better wake up ... if not ... The Colts and Patriots will dominate until they do. The new era of NFL football has arrived and it's not taking prisoners.

  11. The Colts are trying to implement a "systematic" football team that compliments all players. New England has done this for years and has been kicking our cans every season. Irsay, Grigson, and Pagano now realize to fight fire with fire. Plain and simplistic. Ever wonder why Belichik's replacements every couple of years do so well? (Names outta nowheresville become stars.) The key to the NFL success

manual is "systematic" football players that get plugged into certain "postioning" roles and are very good at it.

Indianapolis is finally learning that lesson in the new era of NFL football.

  12. The Colts are and have been for the last several days implementing and creating a formula that images "correct" positioning of players to fill the open gaps and holes that have been prevelant for years now. The additions to protecting Luck, running the football, and stopping the run have been a very ingenious (and lucrative) way of achieving the Lombardi Trophy once again BEFORE the draft IMO.

In my best Aaron Rodgers voice ... R E L A X ... and enjoy the ride before critiquing! ;)
