Get the best talent even if it's not a need.
-
those who have luck over brady really isn't understanding the game. yes, luck is younger and has more talent, but brady runs circle around luck in terms of pocket presence, awareness, presnap ability, and an inspiring leadership. brady brings out the best in you because he makes others believe.
i believe luck will have that 'aura' someday. but right now it's not close to brady's. and that matters. game of the football is 50% mental.
anyway, pats are more talented overall, but not by much.
Still picking Luck regardless. Those two picks comes in when the Pats are up 31-7. That's garbage time picks basically. And the Pats are much talented by a lot.
You're not convincing anyone to pick Brady over Luck in a colts forum. Sorry.

It was clipped for brevity, not willful purpose.
But since you took offense, here's the rest of your post, and my comments on the part that don't "suit (my) purpose":
It's football 101. He has to put the ball in the air much more and has had no running game. That is something Brady has had. Brady also has a defense to help him hold a lead. Does Luck? Brady also has a very good special team around him where Luck don't. It's easy to sit back and boast about how much better Brady is than Luck and ignore the reasons.
- I didn't see the Patriots run the ball very well against Baltimore or Seattle. They basically climbed on Brady's back in those two games. They have an inconsistent running game that they deploy on a match-up based premise.
- In order for a defense to hold a lead, an offense has to produce one first. Not sure but I don't think a lot of Indy's losses these days are the result of blown leads. (If I'm wrong about that I apologize, as I honestly don't know.)
- Yes, Patriots are balanced - special teams and D matter.
- I'm not boasting about Brady, I'm just saying that - for now - he's the better QB. I've already said, given where they are in their careers, that I'd take Luck in a heartbeat if I had to pick one to build around for the future. Is that not good enough considering you're talking about a guy who's played three seasons versus a guy who's played 15 and is one of the most accomplished QBs in NFL history?
2. Indy only blown lead was vs Eagles. Rest of the losses including the playoff losses was blown out from the get go.
-
So? Mcnabb was also playing in when the rules favor the offense and he still can't get 4k yards. So? McNabb also played during a time when QBs could be mauled, as could WRs. Luck is playing at a time when all rules favor the offense.
In his prime except 2005, he can't even get 30 TDs.
again lol awful comparison.

He'll be back

That Luck INT to Revis is when the colts were down by a lot...... 31-7 that time....... pick another int.Simple example: was Luck's INT to Revis a good decision ?
Luck's problem at this stage is that he makes too many poor decisions. He should get beyond this. Right now he is the equivalent of Donovan McNabb. That's not an insult at all; McNabb was a great QB who also ran well.
Luck needs to be smarter with the football; once he improves there, he'll reach elite status.
And the Mcnabb comparison is awful. Mcnabb have a top 5-10 RB in his majority of his career and he never have 4k passing yards and 40 TDs in a season.
-
wr core is overrated for the colts and it's actually not even great.

Why did Luck have so many turnovers? It's football 101. He has to put the ball in the air much more and has had no running game. That is something Brady has had. Brady also has a defense to help him hold a lead. Does Luck? Brady also has a very good special team around him where Luck don't. It's easy to sit back and boast about how much better Brady is than Luck and ignore the reasons. The Colts lead the league with long plays while the Patriots dink and dunk. Big difference, You claim to have a good knowledge of football so why not use it?

39-40 year old Farve running for 10-15 yards vs the bountygate Saints who are clearly trying to take him out of the game. Eh.....
Can he play in a wheelchair vs Manning in the super bowl?
-
Then switch Lynch with Wilson.
-
Rolling out and running 15 yards aren't exactly the same. There are a ton forgotten (ignored) things in that game.
And that's bountygate.
-
he will cost a lot to get him. keep the pick, and sign other guys like what other posters said.
we have to draft well this year
-
he might not be signed back anyway
-
difficulty of passing without a reliable running back comes into picture
but it doesn't matter anyway. what's the point of having the better qb when you have the better coaching and team?
-
we need some good guard play on our line. if this guy asks for the right price, then go ahead
-
there's different terms of a qb being better than another.
-
-
Lynch will end up in Oakland, and the raiders might be a contender...btw all the people talking crap to me when I said they had a great draft and fa...what now? They are going to be amazing this upcoming year and they are probably going to have another good draft and they will be set!
Let's pump the breaks and see if they can actually sign Lynch and get another good draft first.

Is he conservative?
Do you feel like these statements are certainties

1. He will win 2 or 3.
2. Who cares? Just get two or three.
Broncos and Patriots are done in two years. Rivers will be getting very old by then.
Ravens defense may have to revamp their defense(long time players are still on the team). Steelers as well. Bengals are just not getting there. Texans might be get contending status if they get a QB but the question is when and Andre Johnson and Foster needs to be replaced by then anyway.
