I haven’t read anything from the team that says he will “certainly” play, please correct me if I’m wrong? The latest update says they’re evaluating him to see if he’ll be ready for San Diego.

When he was first reinjured the beginning of camp we were told that if they had a game that day he would have been able to play. That was not true. What they should have said is that he is injured and presently we do not know when he will return. Take Campbell for example. He has a hamstring injury. We do not know when he will be ready. that is how it should be handled.

You haven't been to many Broadway plays have you?... You NEVER are guaranteed to see specific people perform during those performances. On any given night, understudies fill in for the key cast members. And you do have the right to know who the cast is, but you will likely already be seated for the show...

Furthermore, NFL teams don't have to rule players out until hours before gametime. But they do have to inform us... although you've already purchased the tickets to the game, likely started making the trip if not already there, and there is no room for recourse until it's too late... so I'm having a hard time following what the hell you are trying to say in this post.

Let me be more clear. First I have attended several Broadway plays and you are incorrect. If the production knows well in advance that a certain actor will not be performing then they cannot continue to advertise that the actor will appear. If the actor becomes ill at the last moment then yes that is certainly a risk that you take but you do not take the risk of false advertisement.

Same with athletics. I a player could be injured in warm-ups and not play so that is a risk that one takes. Any last minute event could occur which changes things. We all accept that. However if a team knows that a player cannot play or will not play then to tell the fans that said player is OK and will certainly play is inappropriate.

The NFL is an entertainment business. They make all of their money off of "the fans". If I am going to a broadway play or a concert I have every right to be told who will be performing so I can decide how to use my time. Fans certainly have a right to know who is going to play and who is not going to play.

I don't know alot about all of their new talent on both sides of the ball. I know Kitchens coached below the coordinator position but I don't know much about his philosophy or his demeanor. I don't know if Mayfield is the real deal or not. I don't know what the win/loss record will be.

I do know this however, in the 20+ years I've been following this sport I have never seen a rookie HC in his first year with a new team shock the league. I believe it would take at least 8 games before the team can develop real chemistry on the field. Until that happens Freddie can have the best game plan and still come up short.

My opinion only of course, I'm no expert. He might be the chosen one finally arrived but I am skeptical. My gut feeling is there were too many personnel moves at the same time as coaching / playbook / scheme changes. That might take awhile to get clicking.

Need to follow a little bit longer. Ever hear of a coach by the name of Ted Marchibroda.

He also coached the Baltimore Colts from 1975-79. Then, the soft-spoken Marchibroda took a once-proud franchise that had hit bottom (2-12) the year before and, in one season, won a division title. Then a second. And a third.

A little Colt history.  (but you have to be old to know these things.

  6. A lot of the draft is about hype. We tend to know the players that get on the Hype Train. Looking at production and stats Banogu is just as good if not better than Burns.

These are the production numbers for Burns vs. Banogu

2017           Tackles   Solo   Ast   Loss      Sacks

    Banagu          55           32     23     16.5       8.5

    Burns             48           26     22     13.5       4.5

    2018

    Banagu        57             43    14       18         8.5

    Burns          52              31    21       15.5     10

In addition Banagu is 6'4" 250 while Burns is 6"5" 235.

If you look at the combine numbers Burns ran a 4.53 and Banagu a 4.6. However the 3 Cone drill was 7.0 for both. Banagu was superior in the athletic tests as it relates to the broad and vertical jumps. Burns refused to bench press which in my opinion tells you something about concerns that he can hold up against the run.

  7. Ballard has been Brillant. We can select as of know Jawaan Taylor ( a projected top 10 pick). We still have Metcalf or A.J. Brown or Butler all of whom some wanted in the first round and we get a 2nd next year.

  8. Have to disagree about Luck and short throws. When our screens are set up to fail from the beginning often Luck will throw the ball at the where it cannot be caught rather than having the running back get blown up for a loss. That is just a smart play. I would like to see some gif's of luck having a wide open screen that is going to go for plus 10 yards where he as completely missed a receiver.

  9. I have broken down the entire game and Luck played very well all things considered. He made two bad passes and on both plays if the pass had been perfect the receiver would have been tackled immediately at the LOS for little on no gain. Luck Ran for two first downs and made several throws into tight windows because we had zero separation.  Watch KC on offense Mahomnes had wide open receivers to throw to. Since TY Was hurt, KC simply went man to man and shut down are other receivers who could not get open. This is the problem that has to get fixed. I don't know what else anyone wanted Luck to do.

No doubt, it is unprecedented. The socialist inside people want a more even distribution of SBs but I guess if you are the fan of the team winning multiple SBs, the capitalist in you takes over, lol. :)

In case you are being serious the Patriot success is the result of socialist principals which allow them due to superior coaching and administration to win year after year. The draft and the salary cap are socialistic. A Capitalist approach would be one in which the draft and the salary cap would be eliminated. In that scenario coaching and administration would take a back seat to Money "what can you give me" (i.e. nice weather).  In that case teams in richer markets would more than likely control the talent and wins as we see in baseball. Just an FYI.

  11. So much Luck Bashing (which happens after every loss) that it cannot be addressed in every thread. I wonder if those who complain ever go back and watch the game film to see what happened as opposed to "relying" on what you thought you saw while you were upset with the play results. Go back and look at the game and then tell me I am wrong.

Let’s look at the pass plays

    1st Series

3rd and 3 Luck hits Ebron in the stomach, and he drops the ball. (Luck’s fault Ebron DROPPED the ball?)

    2nd Series

1st and 10 the ball is batted down because KC defender grabbed Nelsons face mask (a serious penalty) shoving his head back and forced himself on top of Luck, this trend of illegal hands to the face would continue all day).

2nd and 10 batted down, again hands to fact forcing the Oline to retreat into Luck

3rd and 10 Pass to Pascal who could not get any separation and the defender knocked the ball away. (Lucks fault for lack of separation?)

    3rd Series

2nd and 16 Pass to Hilton 10 Years

3rd and 6 Pass to Ebron who instead of continuing to run stops short of the first down marker. A play that should have gone for 8 yards goes for only 5 (Luck’s Fault Ebron stopped running?)

    4th Series

    1st and 10 Pass Ebron 21 Yards

    1st and 10 Pass Inman 12 Yards

    1st and 10 Pass Ebron 4 Yards

    2nd and 6 Pass Rodgers 11 Yards

    1st and 10 Pas Inman 14 Yards

1st and 10 Luck on a nine-yard scramble (Of that’s right Luck never ran this game)

    MISSED FIELD GOAL

That is the First Half 4 possessions. Two of those ended because the TE either dropped the ball or failed to run to the first down line. One ended when the clock ran out, and we missed a FG. Only one legitimate stop by KC. Several hands to the face penalties were not called.

    2nd HALF

    1st Series

1st and 10 4 yard pass to Rodgers

2nd and 6 10 yard pass to Inman

1st and 10 Ebron DROPS 5 yard Pass

2nd and 10 Roger DROPS 9 yard Pass

3rd and 10 Pass in the flat to Rodgers are short, looks that ball slipped. Rodgers was not getting the first down even with a good pass

    2nd Series

1st and 10 20 yard pass to Inman

Note Mack with the big run called back by a holding on Smith that DID NOT OCCUR.

2nd and 17  11 yard pass to Hilton

3rd and 6 Luck was sacked. Glow allowed the DT to come straight for an uncontested sack.

    3rd Series (Following fumble recovery)

1st and 10 Bare Miss to Hilton (Several Hands to face on linemen)

2nd and 10 Strip sack. Our entire Offensive line collapsed.

    4th Series

2nd and 7 Luck Scambles for 7 yards and a 1st Down (Running Again)

1st and 10 Incomplete pass to Hilton who was covered

2nd and 15 Ball batted down (once again big push with hand to face and face mask, you can see the neck of O-line pushed back as far as possible “very dangerous”)

3rd and 15 Pass to Hilton would have been first down. Miscommunication Hilton turned inside, and Luck threw outside.

    5th Series

1st and 10 Luck threw the ball away as he was being sacked.

2nd and 10 Luck throws the ball short as he is falling backward because of Pass Rush.

    (Run for first down)

1st and 10 Throws a perfect ball to Ebron who fails to come back for the ball and the defender “catches up” if Ebron comes back to ball it is either a catch or interference. Luck could not throw the ball in front of Eborn as KC has a safety over  the top. Throw the ball out in front and its intercepted.

3rd and 9 Ball batted down. Once again blatant hands to the face to force guards backward. (I am sure Colts will file a complaint with the league)

4th and 9 Pass to Rodgers for 12 yards

1st and 10 Pass to Hilton for 29-yard Touchdown Great Throw and Catch.

    6th Series

2nd and 1 Pass to Hilton for 10 yards

1st and 10 Pass to Ebron for 4 yards

2nd and 6 Pass to Ebron for 17 yards

1st and 10 Pass to Rodgers 3 yards

2nd and 7 Pass of 25 years to Fountain who DROPPED THE BALL.

In reviewing the film, I do not see anywhere that Luck played poorly. He never held the ball too long or had a noodle arm. The Offensive line blocking in the middle G-C-G was ineffective KC interior made an immediate push. We were pretty good with blocking the edges, but Luck could not step up in the pocket which is what happened on the strip sack.  How did our G-C-G combination that had been so good suddenly fail? It is because of KC deliberately, in my opinion, decided to go hands the face once they realized the refs were not going to call the penalty. We could not stop the rush when KC could grab the facemask. This made a huge impact on the outcome of the game.

The second problem was drops. We had a least 4 Drops.

I do not know of anything else Andrew Luck could have done in this game. He was under constant pressure. His passes were on target except for the one slip. He ran for 2 first downs. He threw a TD pass to Hilton and one to Fountain that he dropped. He leads us down the field to a short FG with time expiring, and the kick was missed.

All told that is 17 points plus the TD that’s 24 and we are in the game despite the other drops and the inability to protect.

I just do not understand people complaining about Luck not playing well. That is just false.

  12. On our 4th possession it was 3rd and 6. Ebron was running the Doyle play where he catches the ball on the run and picks up the 1st. Ebron was wide open and Luck makes a perfect throw except Ebron stopped running. Instead he turned and caught the ball short of the first down maker and waited to be tackled. I could keep going but none of the above was Luck fault
