2018- Nelson, Smith, Darius might still be hard to beat.

Most definitely. Also have Lewis and Franklin in that class.  Even though Leonard fell off, still getting a lot of production with 3 starters and a good backup.

I thought Freeland had some good moments. Just needs to get stronger. Hopefully he hit the gym this off-season.

He did have some good moments. He still struggled a lot though. Kind of expected from a rookie that had to start 9-10 games. Hopefully he does get stronger.

Kinda interesting what the oline will look like next year. Kelly and Fries are FAs and Braden might be a cap casualty as we can save 16.5 mil by cutting him after the 2024 season. Is this the oline Raimann Nelson Bortolini Goncalves Freeland

Freeland still has a ways to go before he is able to win the starting job. As of right now he is probably an average backup swing tackle. Hopefully he takes a big step this year. Barring more injuries, Smith is probably safe a couple more years bc he has played great when available. Staying available is key.

He looks like a jellied out Glen Campbell. Probably heading down the same road. Everyone judges. Don't be a Woke fool.

Bud, I’m about as conservative as it gets so take your woke nonsense elsewhere. Not everyone judges looks, especially a GM trying to call a player. Just insecure fools that throw out insults to make themselves feel important. Enjoy the fleeting moment.

  5. No idea who this guy is but I’m always a fan of OL. There aren’t enough OL starters for every team in the nfl and we may have 6-7 starters by mid season.

Keys to winning in the NFL:

    Protect your QB

    Get to their QB

Take the ball away and give it back to your QB

2 down and one to go!!  Loving this draft!!

He said in some interview a while back that he was growing out his hair with some friends for something.

He then said some had chickened out and cut their hair already, but he was seeing it through. (Something along those lines)

Thanks for sharing. Not sure why people are judging someone’s hair or weight this much. Not so much here but its all over FB in the comments on the Colts post. He doesnt look bad at all, just different.

Chargers trade Herbert to the Vikes for picks 11, 23, and 2025 1st and 3rd round picks.   LAC selects JJ McCarthy at 5, and then adds OT and WR at 11 and 23.

That a great trade idea that could work for both teams. I do believe MN traded this year and next 2nd round picks for #23. Would mean they don’t pick until 3rd round this year and 4th next year. Not sure how stacked that team is to absorb two years of now high picks.

  8. The Detroit Lions already did something similar hiring Matt Millen as GM. I believe he was a TV analyst. I also think the Raiders did that with Mayock or whatever his name was. I know that time in Detroit was super rough and the Raiders under Gruden weren’t successful either. Not sure if either had a background in coaching or the front office before.  I highly doubt Madden will ever land anyone a job with an NFL team.  It just not close enough to translate to the real world dealing with humans. Similar to me being a guitar player and everyone wanting to see how good I was at Guitar Hero. Nothing about that game was for musicians…it was for normal people to pretend they were musicians. Just like madden is for everyday people to play GM.  It’s a game.

Someone I want to stay away from is Xavier Worthy. I'm thinking he will be a bust. His hands are bad, and he doesn't seem to me like he is a very good football player. I know we interviewed with him and it makes me nervous. I don't even want him in a trade down tbh.

I prefer a team full of good football players and 3 “stars” at QB, DE and RB/WR positions.  When rosters are top heavy with highly paid 5-6 star players they can have holes in other positions.  It’s definitely a balancing act of choosing the right guys and I’m glad it’s not my job.

  10. If the Colts pick a WR in the first, I hope they go with someone with consistent proven production in college. The WR position is very tough in the NFL and prolongs development for those learning the position. I would prefer a player that can impact games through his rookie contract and not start to “break out” year three or four. I have no idea how to determine that so easier said than done.

I am still trying to figure out how trading this year's 15th, next year's 1st Round pick and even a 2nd round pick next year is trading away our future to move up into the top 10 this year? It's giving up 2 picks next season.

I just think it’s a couple years too soon for that type of trade. If we had a top 12 defense and AR had played great last year I would be liking every post you have about trading up. I just see that type of capital as two starters and a key backup. One of the picks would probably not pan out but if the colts could hit on two starters and one of them is pro bowl capable, it’s better for the team now. I like how you’re thinking though.

Trading back would be interesting. Jags are at 17. I am not sure they want to get behind the Jags and have them pick a guy at 17 that will come back to haunt the Colts. They apparently need a corner and wr as their to needs.

While that may play a small part of it but I doubt enough they won’t execute a trade back. It would only allow moving back one spot.

If we go OL in the 1st I’d be extremely disappointed.

Completely understand but I could at least stomach the Colts doing everything they can to protect AR and let him work. If a franchise tackle is there when they pick and clearly BPA, it makes sense.  I don’t think the Colts will go this route but I do recognize the possibility.

After the presser it looks like the Colts will trade back so there will be a lot of picks before the they make their first selection. This makes it nearly impossible to predict which way they may go. Chances are I won’t know who the majority of the players the Colts pick anyways. Going to sit back and enjoy the show and see what happens.

That trade also had a little something to do with the QB Reid has and the TE as well.  Forget their names but both are said to be well above average.

I do believe the Chiefs offered Hill a decent amount of money. Dolphins were willing to offer 30m a year plus draft capital. I can’t remember but I thought Hill was willing to take less from the Chiefs until the Dolphins went big and he couldn’t say no.

And it's not really working out for the teams that do make that trade. To me, u make a trade for a receiver if u have most of theteam behind u to make a push. Colts have holes on defense.

I agree. Unless an offensive weapon is BPA, I would prefer the Colts go defense or OL if everyone is graded really close

I knew someone would bring that up. Julio Jones was seen as a freak of nature. In terms of physical  traits, Marvin and Nabers r not quite there. Jones was just a man amongst boys and that is a very rare trade to go up that far.

It was also 13yrs ago. The trend since  has been to trade for an established receiver. Hill, Adams, Diggs, Jones, Brown, Hopkins, Cooks, Beckham Jr etc all have been blockbuster trades. The Falcons trading two 1st, a 2nd and a 4th for a rookie is by far the exception.
