I personally like Sermon quite a bit to fill the Moss role. I think Goodson and Hull will be able too fill the Hine's roll well enough not to need to invest in another receiving back. If JT is healthy this year then who's behind him doesn't really matter.

I think the fact that Ballard traded UP to make sure they got Gonsalves should tell you just how much they like the kid. On draft night Ballard said they think the kid can play any position on the OL except LT.
I’d also remind that our new DL coach, Partridge, was on the Pitt coaching staff and while he didn’t coach Gonzalves he has inside information about him and perhaps what other teams thought of him.
Just some food for thought.
Oh I am aware, I also understand they were forecasting a run on OT that they were correct about. I also understand that last year coming off his season prior to the injury he was expected to be a 1st or 2nd round pick. Too me I guess it all weighs in on what position do they want to push him towards, OT or OG? IMHO they need to have a clear plan with him, he isn't an incredible athlete that can be a top swing tackle, if you want that I think Freeland or Witt will be much better suited for that role. If you want him to be inline to take over for Fries next season I'm fine with the pick then. However if you want him to sit for 2 years to eventually take over for Smith then I feel like we could have allocated draft picks a little better.
TO BE CLEAR, I do not hate the pick. There are a lot worst things then to have then OL depth. There were other players on the board I feel would have made more of an instant impact. So to me it still all depends on what their plan is with him.

The Goncalves pick will either be incredibly genius or a near wasted pick IMHO. We needed depth but I don’t think we needed to invest that much in a back up when we have Freeland and Witt waiting behind smith and Raimann. If you flipped him with Bortolini I think I would have been happier. I’m higher on Carlies and Abraham then you but lower on Simpson.

I literally yelled in joy for Mitchell like we just scored a game winning TD. If we would have traded back to 25 and picked him after Brian Thomas I would have been happy. That being said I think Latu is going to be my favorite. His whole attitude and how greatful he is has won me over.

Latu wants #15, I would bet Flacco gives it up. Mitchell though will be a tough one, I would have bet 15 for him since 5 is taken but maybe he takes 10?
Ayyyyyyy I got that one lol

We NEED the laugh emoji back for this post
Still have no idea how he has kept a job so long, he has turned so many people off of the star it would have been wise to just cut ties.

Are there tickets for preseason camps or anything? I’m interested in going and feel like I’ve seen something in previous years. Can we go to rookie camp? Is it more towards the beginning of the season we can attend?
ThanksThe only thing the public can attend is training camp in august. Highly recommend it, it’s a lot of fun. There are tickets to that but they are free.

Except the glaring hole at starting cb.
Right now we are slated to start an udfa talent coming off an achilles tear.
I mean Kenny Moore is a UDFA and he’s been doing okay…… not sure if flowers sub plants either Brent’s or Jones so he’s likely a back up.

Best way to protect a D is to run the ball. These last two picks are also in the even they don't resign Kelly and Smith. I think we're going to a little old school. We r going to maul teams, go play action, and air it out. I wanted some corners, but I think this team is going to pound teams. Love the approach.
Steichans own words were throw to score but run to win. Absolutely going to play some smash mouth football with some passing finesse

The Franchise Guy whom I am watching a bit today loves the pick
Put some NFL muscle on him and train him and he should be our starting C in 1-2 yearsGreat Pick
He’s loving the entire draft thus far

Love this one. We need a center for the future, this guy is going to be it

I’m curious where he would sit at as a OG instead of OT

If we snag Khyree Jackson in the third it will be a perfect draft for me.

So what to do with Pierce now?
He will still be a vertical guy, Mitchell has the potential to be an alpha guy though and more then just a deep threat

I voted DeJean before seeing Mitchell, AD then DeJean for me

I’m pretty happy here. I really had 3 people I was wanting at 15, Bowers, Mitchell and Latu. I would have talked myself into BTJ but felt like he was going to be redundant, and would have been fine with Arnold too. Bowers being gone, and having a feeling the front office wasn’t going to invest super early on a position they have already invested in recently.
It does make me laugh though, reading these negative post from members I don’t recognize repeating talking points anyone who’s followed the draft already know. How can you be so negative when you haven’t watched a second of film?

Urgh! I hate you!
I think I'm going all in on Latu. I think he will be great. Don't take this to mean I don't want BTJ.
Wish was granted lol

I’d do probably a 5th. With injury and taking on his salary he’s not worth giving up that much.

I can’t complain about it, you took build a Ballard type players. Big athletic guys. Khyree Jackson vs T.J Tampa would be an interesting to pick from.

I personally wouldn’t touch Williams with a 10 foot pole. He seems like a distraction and cancerous. He may be Uber talented but I don’t feel like he is a winner, and don’t feel like his heart is in it. I think he gets the bag and just sets it on cruise control. There is absolutely nothing to base this off of aside from my gut feeling.
MayeDaniels
Penix
Nix
McCarthy
Maye is your prototype passer and I think his deficiencies are easily fixed with good coaching.
Daniels seems the most limited to me, proficient and will be very dependent on where he goes.
Will always have a soft spot for Penix, he throws such a pretty deep ball. His 40 time should have opened some eyes.
Nix is probably the safest pick IMO. I think he’s got the tools to fit nearly any offense. Has the athleticism, arm talent and I think he’s got the between the ears to excel in most offenses.
I see the appeal with McCarthy, he was as unselfish as they come allowing the run game to shine instead of checking to pass plays. I think his ceiling is a solid game manager.

Oh yea and then there is Pennix, I've got a soft spot for big bruising RB's and at 6'2 234 with good hands does get me excited but he will likely just be a practice squad/ special teamer but i wouldnt want to tackle him.
