Chargers get the Titans 2nd overall pick and the Titans get Rivers and the Chargers 17th overall pick. I can't see how it works if both teams don't end up with a 1st. There's no way Tennessee completely drops out of the 1st just for Rivers.
That's along the lines of what I'm thinking.
How does it make any sense for the Titans to take a 33-year-old Phillip Rivers when they could just use that 2nd pick themselves and take what could become their franchise QB of the future?

I'm sure any fan who lives within their team's market sees no problem with this.
I live away from Indy and have to pay for Sunday Ticket to watch all Colts games.
Suppose this had been Jags/Colts instead of Jags/Bills.
Now, I'm going to have to pay an additional fee to watch this game on a laptop screen??

Report: Texans No Longer in the Running for Vince Wilfork

Do you think that talking about it might make it happen? Sorry, I'm not superstitious.
knock on wood
And, while you're at it, stay focused on the next game and don't be looking ahead.

That's an EZ one Hooshie
MOON + JUPITER PATRIOTS 45
--------------------------- = ------------------------
CAR + HAIRBRUSH COLTS 7
Your logic is consistent.
-
If it's ultimately discovered that the COLTS were tipped off that the Pats deflate their footballs and subsequently lowered the PSI of their INT ball ( to show a clearly under-inflated feel ) before turning it in to officials ...
What if the moon was your car and Jupiter was your hair brush?

Same game. Question of ball tampering. The reason the league official went to the locker room to test the balls. This is not unrelated. No one is off of anything. So now we are off of the offensive balls that Brady and the O uses and are on to the kicking balls.
In the video clip of the report it is pointed out that the K balls are under the refs' supervision from the hotel to the field, and it is so unusual for him to hand the ref a K ball (especially an unapproved one) that it warranted contacting the league's president of game operations. Is it even a violation to hand a ball to a ref that is not approved? I have no idea or if it is common for teams to do.
Nowhere in the report does it say that the K ball was under-inflated.Also, it seems to make no sense to try to insert a deflated kicking ball as the kickers like the balls over inflated so it will travel further.

Was listening to my local station on the radio this morning. They got talking bout the move to LA that could happen. One of the announcers said he had source saying the Colts are interested in the move to LA. Can't find anyone else online mentioning that so true or false?
Out of curiosity, what station and host was it?

I always love it when someone is such a man that they can trash a kid as long as their name isn't mentioned in the article. Ironic that many see Manziel as a spoiled, entitled kid when Kyle Shanahan, the person most likely doing the bashing, has done nothing to prove he is an NFL offensive coordinator and manages to bounce around due to his father's name.
Not to defend Kyle Shanahan (I don't know anything about him) but the article does say that the assessment of Manziel comes from multiple people.
"Based on interviews with 20 Browns sources, they’ve concluded that Manziel engaged in a “year-long pattern that showed a lack of commitment and preparation, a failure to be ready when given a chance in his first start against Cincinnati and a continued commitment to nightlife..."

who cares? the PATS could have beaten the Colts with a bowling ball

Would like to see the tapes (if they still exist) of this guy to see if he always takes the balls into the bathroom with him (aside from the fact it's disgusting) during home games.
This is an *excellent* point.
Peter King reported today that the investigators are looking beyond the 11 balls, back to the whole season, and possibly farther. If the footage still exists, I have no doubt that they will look into this very thing you mentioned.
Even if the footage doesn't exist (say, from the Ravens game), they've brought in a company that specializes in digital forensics.
If there's something they want to find, they'll find it.

I think that's what I would demand as a fan OF the pats before I could really be a big fan again. Would I follow them, sure. but would I now buy the paraphernalia, make sure my sunday's are clear during the season...probably not.
Wow. Well, that's some admirable and refreshing honesty.
-
They have played this so strong, I am now convinced if the pats are found guilty of deliberately tampering, ie, the ball boy did it under directions of someone, the only reasonable outcome is Kraft has to step down, hand off to his son. His son would have to fire BB, and cut Brady.
Even as someone who doesn't like the Patriots, I think that's probably extreme and unlikely.
Personally, if the type of guilt you described is found, I would think that lenghty (ie, season-long) suspensions would be in order for Belichick and/or Brady. Whomever was complicit.
I can see the argument for booting Belichick for a second confirmed cheating violation. But cutting Brady would be extreme, and forcing Kraft to step down, just for running his mouth, would be way too much.
-
Thats accurate for sure. But why then do the strong denial pressers. If the pats thought the vid had even a chance to incriminate them, why not just keep saying, we are co operating and waiting for the outcome, cant comment? Thats what has me so confused about how the Pats are handling their end.
My genuine, honest opinion...arrogance.
-
Tell me something. How incompetent would an organization have to be to find the evidence that would convict them, then deliberately give that to the NFL knowing what it had on it, then issue a series of denials to the public.
you can think they are liars and cheaters, I have no issue with that..but do you think they are ~that~ incompetent?
The investigators were going to get that footage, period.
The only choice for the Patriots was to turn it over immediately and appear cooperative...or destroy it and really screw themselves.

I don't think a lot of people grasp just how long 90 seconds actually is. I used to work in radio, and 90 seconds can be an eternity.
Sit and look at an analog clock and watch 90 seconds go by. It's not that hard to imagine this could be done in that amount of time. -
You may be right. They say the tape shows 90 seconds of footage. These football were still in the Patriots possession for over two hours before the game. 1 1/2 minutes out of over 120 minutes.
I'm not debating this, I've just not come across the info. Do we know that they had access to the balls for an hour and a half?

I watched a video of an NFL ref explaining what's suppose to happen. The answer is yes. Directly from that room to the playing field
Well, that combination of facts makes for a pretty darn big deal then.
-
2. They have a video of him making a detour (ok, that's pretty bad).
Has anyone reported on exactly what the protocol is at that stage?
If they are supposed to be brought immediately/directly from the refs' locker room to the field, or what.
-
If this team does not get a harsh punishment I am so tired of them I don't even want to watch another game they play in again. I will watch 31 NFL teams and thats it.
Sean Payton got the year suspension. I am sure Bill B. will just get banned from his favorite donut shop in Boston as harsh punishment.
Just came across this article in the Washington Post. The author dug up an interesting segment from a memo Goodell issued to the competition committee in 2008, in the aftermath of SpyGate. I think it will be up to pressure from the media and public to hold him to this sentiment.
“Too often, competitive violations have gone unpunished because conclusive proof of the violation was lacking,” Goodell wrote in that memo. “I believe we should reconsider the standard of proof to be applied in such cases, and make it easier for a competitive violation to be established. And where a violation is shown, I intend to impose more stringent penalties on both the club and the responsible individual(s). I will also be prepared to make greater use of draft choice forfeiture in appropriate cases. I believe this will have the effect of deterring violations and making people more willing to report violations on a timely basis.”
-
Idk. This would be different if Gronkowski or Blount or someone came out and said this. They play offense. It would have more of an effect is what I'm saying. But yes, the title is accurate. We can get back to discussing the topic now.
Fair enough.
-
OF COURSE someone higher up told the locker room dude to do this. Jesus Christ. Do people think this dude woke up the morning of the AFCCG and said "I gonna steal the Pats balls and deflate those puppies for fun." NO NO NO NO NO.
And this morning Brady I hear had the nerve to say his feelings were hurt due to accusations.
This organization makes me sick........literally sick.
I totally get your exasperation. There are some Pats fans who will buy the "rogue ball boy" story and defend it to their last breath.
-
Did his teammates come out and say that's what they were going to do? Didn't think so.
Thread Title: Patriot talks about targeting Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas. Hopes to "break their elbows and shoulders
Quote: "I'm going to tell my teammates, 'Go hit that elbow, go hit that shoulder,'" Browner said. "Try to break it if you can."
What am I missing here?

And don't forget, we don't know what the coaches know.
A guy may be a human turn-style on game day, week in and week out, but we don't see the amazing things he does at practice.
