  1. I guess I haven't paid much attention to this in the past, but from doing some Googling, it looks like they pretty much just wear pants that are the same color as the jersey.  Am I wrong on that?

This is just someone's uniform concept idea, but is this basically what we'd be looking at?

  2.

I think the best move Irsay could make if he's still interested in saving the season would be to put Chudzinski in charge of offensive playcalling, and not fire Chuck. And since the trade deadline has already passed, there's no real point in firing Grigson at this point either.

I'm in 100% agreement with the bolded first half of this.

As far as whether or not to fire Grigson right now, I think that (if the things that have been reported are true) Irsay has to tell Grigson, "This is Pagano's team to run.  Keep your nose out."

  3. I'm very optimistic for our season going forward, and here's why:

The first half offensive blue print was perfect. We got yards and points. We only abandoned the run for some deep throws late in the game when pep (wrongly) felt we needed to go deep passing more to catch up on points.

Pagano identified that they abandoned the run and that they need to stick with gore more and that's good. Also apart from maybe the falcons or steelers in our remaining schedule, no one else is going to average a ridiculous 3.5 points per drive like the pats do this season. There are also no more good defenses remaining, save maybe a revitalized miami which is great on paper. This will play into our favor in keeping offensive balance.

Our defense played really good yesterday, and I think will keep getting better. Hope adams and geathers will be back for the saints, we'll need them.

I agree.  I was disappointed with the loss to the Pats, but not disgusted like I was after the AFCCG.

If they continue to play the way they did against the best team in the league, I genuinely believe they could win out and finish at 13-3.

  4. The problem is finding one you trust in an area you haven't been around alot. It can be considered selfish but this may be the last chance for us to go to the Houston stadium. Been working on going to a game in every stadium.

I don't think it's selfish.  At all.  If having kids meant that your life had to suddenly suck, we would have ceased to exist a long time ago.

Honestly, if you can find some kind of headphones to cover your baby's ears so he/she isn't miserable, I don't think you'll have much of a problem.  You seem like the kind of parent that is considerate of those around you.

  5. So let me ask you these questions.

Do you skip the game cause you can't find a babysitter?

What's the difference between a child that cant settle down and an adult that can't?

Why do you assume a child can't behave?

Have you ever, and continue to go to colts games? I only ask because you seem to be arguing against even going to a game lol.

I don't have kids, but I think I can take the two highlighted questions.

To the first: If an adult is misbehaving and interfering with my enjoyment of the game, I can confront them directly, or if it gets to that point, go to security to have them tossed out.  (I've done both.)  If I take either of those tracks with a child that is misbehaving and interfering with my enjoyment of the game, I'm an ogre.

To the second: I can't speak for SW1, but I don't think most people assume that a child can't behave.  I think for a lot of people it's more of a subconscious fear of getting stuck next to a child whose parent won't make them behave.  If you're out to dinner and a child is sitting near you and is silent the whole time, you never even notice them.  But when a child is near you and is crying the whole time, getting up and running around, etc., that sticks in your mind and that is what is conjured up when you think about a child being brought into certain situations.

I'm not a doctor, but as Nadine pointed out, I would have to wonder about the effects of that decibel level on their ears.

Aside from that, I don't think people would have a problem having a kid next to them in general.  If they don't have to get up and down an excessive amount to let a parent and child go to and from their seats, and the child isn't crying the whole time, I don't think anyone would have any problem with a small child being there.

  6. What makes you say Peyton is probably retiring after this season, Hoosier? He's is a 5-year contract...4th season.

Just purely a personal feeling based on age, the amount of thought he put into it after last season, and all of the changes in Denver.

  7. Just thought this was something interesting to track during what will likely be Peyton's last season.

Peyton needs 2,148 passing yards to pass Brett Favre for the career record.
    (He threw 4,727 last year.)

Peyton needs 374 completions to pass Brett Favre for the career record.
(He threw 395 last year.  This one may be tough.)

It's possible that Peyton could retire with those records along with:

Most career TDs at 530. (Plus any thrown this season.)
Most career game-winning drives at 52. (Plus any this season.)
Most single-season passing yards at 5,477.
    Most single-season TDs at 55.

  8. What I find entertaining is how voices that knew with absolute certitude that Robert Kraft was going to bring the league to its knees fell deathly silent when Kraft announced he would not appeal.

Now that the sting from that has worn off, there is absolute certitude that the Wells Report is going to be destroyed in court.

  9. Warning...parody

Wanted: Fans for an NFL franchise.

The NE Patriots seeks fans who fit our mold. We need you to believe in winning at all costs. No matter what we do, as a fan you need to defend us, even in the face of embarrassing actions that we may be connected with. As we use these illegal behaviors to build a dynasty over time, we want you to make names on sports forums that display our dominance in the league, and make sure to make a signature that lists all those championships we won with our cheating style. But the most important thing is, you need to be blind to the truth, ignore facts, and go out into the sporting world and spread your arrogance amongst the other teams fans. It's not enough that you enjoy our winning at all costs, you need to stick it in the face of all fans you can irritate with it. In the end, it will be worth it, because you can always say ringssss! Don't worry, when it all falls apart, just disappear.

I liked this, then unliked it, just so I could like it again.

  10. There really is no sense talking to you. I never said there was absolutely no chance that Brady knew nothing. What I believe is that the evidence points to the opposite . The problem is you are the one that is being ridiculous... see below.

"Brady's involvement? Literally nothing that even hints that he knew and the suspension was ridiculous."

I really don't understand why some continue to engage in some of the asinine arguments.

We had one Pats fan who was just sure that Kraft was going to slash and burn this league and then salt the Earth like Sherman marching to the sea.

That's been replaced by one who is absolutely indignant about the fact that Colts fans would dare to have any kind of biased opinion about their team's biggest nemesis, and worst of all that they would express it on a Colts forum.  Only to turn around and make a completely smart-* post about how badly the Patriots have beaten the Colts over the years.

<Insert obligatory comment about how some Patriots fans have been reasonable about all of it>

Why they feel the need to go to every length possible to convince a bunch of Colts fans of their team's innocence is beyond me.

  11. You don't hire Jeffrey Keesler and not go to court. His record vs the NFL is pristine. And I think it is clear at this point that Brady did not hand over his phone because there is anything incriminating on it but because he did not want to give it to Wells given he has no authority to take it and he wanted it to try to find him guilty anyways.

Wells did not ask Brady to give his cell phone to him.

He asked for Brady's attorneys to pick out any communications that were pertinent to the investigation, print it out and submit that.  Even with letting Brady cherry pick what he would turn over, they straight-up refused.

  12. I don't see where he's lost the PR battle, not on this matter.   Everything I've read, seen, heard, is that 76% of the public, including avid fans, were pleased with the punishment and investigation.   To me.... he's winning that PR battle.

I'd even go a step farther to say that the Patriots almost handed him the PR battle with that absurd release yesterday.

  13. Anyone else think that, if Yee and the Patriots had kept their traps shut and not acted like * (making outrageous accusations against the league) that it would have at least increased the odds of Goodell handing it to an arbitrator?

I really think they shot themselves in the foot with this.

  14. Goodell heard the Saints bounty case appeals as well because it was an integrity of the game issue. I think this was a smart move by Roger depending which way he rules. If he upholds the 4 games it will look like he intentionally blocked Brady and it will look like he didn't trust the Wells report to have an independent arbitrator. It won't matter though as Brady will go to civil court anyways. That is why he has Kessler on his team.

I was with you, up through the bolded part.

I know you think you're dying to see this go into the court system, but I really don't think you, Tom Brady, or the Patriots want to go that route.  Then you're talking about subpoenas and there's no refusing to turn over cell phones, and no refusing to make employees available for interview.
