Hypothetical: Brissett and our 4th Rounder to Miami for pick #48. Possible? If so, who do you pick?
And with the #48 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select...
-
He could be Vic Beasley or Von Miller... Hard to say. I'd take a shot at him at 26 knowing that maybe Jones, Allen, Lawrence, Murphy, Baker, Edwards, etc... could be there at 34.
-
Mosley, Grady or Adam
-
There is a lot of talent in those first three rounds... Jacoby and our 4th round comp pick... for a mid/late 2nd rounder.
-
7 of the 8 picks...probably will not be at the picks you are mocking. I hope I am wrong and you are right.
-
This doesn't sound like a deal I would consider ideal... Ideally, Keep it simple. Brissett and a 4th rounder (Comp Pick) for a high/mid 2nd rounder. Done. Draft a back-up QB around Rounds 5-7 if needed.
-
I'm still passing on him. Doesn't seem like he fits the mold of a Colt. Plus, depending on the fog of the draft, I think equally talented players, at a position of absolute need, will be there at 34. At 58, I might consider it...

Booger McFarland...

I really believe that we will be very frugal this go around. Might add one important piece... but it would need to be that guy. I think 2020 FA will be our time to shine. One more year of acquiring young talent via the draft. Then add the other FA piece to complete the puzzle.

Youth movement... a couple high seconds. 1 or 2 this year... OR 1 high second this year and one next year.

All Day @ pick 58.

Third Round welcomes you...

Great. We would then have 3 Mack’s and 2 Hookers on our team...

Reaching IMO...Omenihu at Pick 58...Samuel 3rd/4th round.

Not sure about that seventh rounder though... ha Nice mock!

Something tells me with the success we've had drafting lineman (2 out of the first 3 picks last year) that we will do the same this year...only on the defensive side. DT3, DT5, CB/S...then skill players in the third at the earliest.

I’ve suggested this too because so many posters here are adamant that there will be a defensive lineman for us to take at pick 26, but TDN sees differently.

I agree. Wilkins and Simmons will likely go before our pick, so I think the depth and value starts in the 2nd round at that position.

Would love to have seen Rapp S or Gardner-Johnson S with one of the 2nd rounders. Hunter Renfrow or Andy Isabell WR in the 4th round. Otherwise, nice mock.

I think the KC game showed us that we're farther ahead than u may think. They scored at will and I believe t could have been worse, but I think they took their foot off the pedal. I say 2 drafts and a free agent pick up here and there.
Need that core foundation of talent as FA pillaging will complicate the overall defensive identity. I'll go top half of the league defensively next year (Pass and Run) is possible.

I think I’ll stick with Ballard’s ability to draft players for now...

That's the thing tho, if they end up signing Flowers or Clowney (unlikely, but possible) or a high end edge guy in FA then that opens up the draft a little more. Same with WR and S, it's hard to predict, or mock anything, until a few weeks into FA.
If “ifs” and “buts” we’re crackers and nuts we would all have a perfect off season. With any of these threads for the past ## years there is that implied understanding that what happens Free Agency does change things...cheers

Agree to disagree. I don't see us spending a lot of dollars on FA this year. That money will be used to solidify our own FA in the future..."keeping our own players" I've heard Ballard use a couple of times... Don't get me wrong, I think if those specific pieces are out there, he will pursue them...but I believe he will only pull the trigger to complete the team at the right price / at the right time... 2020... Best guess... We are just ahead of his curve / spoiled with last years draft class.
