  1. I disagree i dont think Arrington played him that well it may have looked that way because Arrington had a single high safety for help at all times they pretty much double teamed Hilton every down. They pretty much played man the entire game, we should have picked them apart.

Arrington was glued to him but yeah he had help so he could play tight with no fear. I thought we would have done more but Revis allowed them to do so much because he does not need any help. Only Fleener had a good game.

  2. Good Effort.... what game did you watch.  I am not and have not been one to bash a coach, but our D was not prepared at all, looked terrible form the start, and they were coming off a bye!  2 out of the last 3 weeks the defense has been embarrassing.  I am ready to believe the defensive coordinator has to go.... and Rex Ryan will surely be available.  It is the defense that makes the offense one dimensional in these losses... it is sad to have to see this season fade away, but we are a least a year away from competing with the NE's of the world.

I did not see guys taking plays off or not trying is my point. We were just beat physically and outcoached like you said.

  3. Pats DB were allowed to play physical with our wideouts. However the flags were flying against the Colts DBs when they tried to do the same. The refs weren't consistent in calling it both ways in my opinion. While it's not why the Colts lost this game, it does explain some of why the Pats secondary looked good against our wideouts. Additionally, New England was fortunate that the Colts lost Dwayne Allen early because they had no one who could have covered him. They struggled covering just Fleener, they would have been overwhelmed if they had to matchup with both of our tight ends . Colts did not have their full offensive array of weapons and possibly may not for the rest of the year.

All of these factored into the loss but the main reason was they were simply outplayed by the Pats at the line of scrimmage. Full credit goes to New England for that. Brady wasn't at his best but he had a running game to lean on. The Colts defense could do nothing to keep them from ramming the football down their throats. On the other side of the ball, the Colts Oline got pushed around like blocking dummies all day.

I don't remember a lot of defensive holding or PI on either team except for the one on Gronk where our guy grabbed his shirt in the end zone. Pats had 5 penalities for 53 and Colts had 4 for 29. The Patriots seemed to have a lot on special teams for blocks in the back or holding.

I agree though about them being physical. I think they are willing to take penalties in order to be physical. I am sure they figure the refs won't call them all and the alternative is getting beat so mine as well test the zebras.

I agree about Allen too. Our mismatches were at the TE spot. Do you know what his injury is/was?

  4. Was anyone else as surprised as I was to see Arrington on Hilton? And even more surprised at how well he played him? I assume they did this because of Arrington's speed. Revis on Wayne makes sense given how well he covered him when he was with the Jets. It seemed Browner was the one they moved around the most and Fleener got the best of him but that was about it. I was surprised at how well they contained our passing attack. What do people think the reasons were? Just match ups? Or more the play calling?

  5. I am not sure what this means? All the teams you listed are winning their divisions with the exception of Seattle. Both the Eagles and Broncos could finish with a bye or at the very least a home playoff game in round 1.

That being said ... hard to bet on the Eagles with Sanchez. He will struggle against quality teams the rest of the way. Dallas takes that division if Romo's back holds up...

Denver needs to fix everything that got exposed by NE ... and hope the injures they suffered yesterday are not lingering.

Seattle is still in the thick of things but their defense is nowhere near what it was last year and they will struggle to just get in given there are other second place teams with better records then them.

  6. Have the RB's on an NFL team ever gone 14 carries for 4 yards ? I would  have to think maybe the worst stat by a rushing attack in league history ?

Am I reading this right ? Bradshaw 7 carries 4 yards. Richardson 7  carries 0 yards. Some one wake me up as I have to be dreaming this.

Was that the line? Man. I knew it was bad but didn't think it was that futile.

  7. Didn't see this game coming. Never thought NE would run on us again with a practice squad back. Thought for sure by the second half we would stop it but we never did.

Texans are only one game behind us now. Can't think about NE. Need to secure the division and Mallett appears to be an upgrade over Fitz.

  8. Our defense has been a huge disappointment tonight.

I think it's clear we're not as talented as we need to be when we face other elite teams.

When we play the lower level and mid-level teams,  our defense can do very, very well.

But against elite teams,  we get exposed.   We get worked.

We've got a ways to go.

By the way,  our offense wasn't much better.    The o-line was also very disappointing tonight.

Well said. Both lines were manhandled. That was an old fashioned whipping up front.

  9. Much appreciated of course DW, I know you can give credit when credit is due. I'm optimistic about the future because of how our offense clicked today and like you said, low risk and perhaps high reward. This has to work out, all of the franchise worthy QBs will be gone by the time we pick I think.

Congrats on your win. Mallett looked good. You have new hope for this season. Watt is just awesome.

  10. Nope not a broncos fan just funny when your always claiming to be a colts fan yet you praise Brady and the pats D like the pats homers here

LIkie I said, you are an angry, angry person. Any mention of the pats that is not negative just burns you and of course means the poster is a Pats homer ... thanks for confirming my suspicions.

  11. If you ever bothered to post in the actual colts part of the forum you would have read the post yesterday. Don't forget to wash your Brady Jersey before the game tonight

Why? I know what you posted to me back in Sept. Nice try though.

And you can also take your Manning Jersey off now, he lost.
