So just what would be wrong with bringing in a young QB with a 6th or 7th round pick?  Very seldom does a player taken in those rounds make an impact.

Going into the season with a rookie, late round QB as your primary backup? How many times has that worked for someone? I wouldn't mind drafting someone late to develop but if you're going to do that you better make sure you have a capable backup who can step in. Andrew's taken a beating and there's no guarantee he can start all 16 games next season.

  2. He is actually a really nice guy and I've never heard a bad thing about him as a person, but yeah, he tends to get into these kind of incidents. Nothing major, but little tick tacky stuff like this seems to follow him around. The running joke around Ball State was always the male enhancement pill incident from his first year at the school. I do think his performance last year was hindered by injury and the terrible signing of Trent Cole, who took reps away from him.

There is sure to be a meltdown here when Peyton retires a Bronco.  I predict the same reporters, and posters who love to trash and bash him, but at the same time want him to come home so they can  embrace him in a retirement ceremony here, will be whining and crying how they've been wronged and shunned.  smh

Just exactly which reporters in the Indianapolis market love to "trash and bash" Manning? He has been treated very fairly over the years by Indy media.

Could be. Kinda like how you put all of Paganos properties on the market way too soon thinking he would be fired.  Are you still his realtor or did he fire you?

He no longer has a need for a realtor at the moment but the business relationship ended well enough that I feel confident about my prospects if he needs to put a house on the market in four years. The man went into a meeting to be fired and came out with more power than he ever had, I don't think he needs me as a salesmen though, tbh.

I think the change has more significance.  To me it's a sign they may start him as a pure safety next season instead of the dime linebacker role.  If that's the case then one of our two current starters if not both may be headed out of the door.

You're looking into this way too much.

You said it's not being dug up by bitter Cam fans...

Shaun originally questioned why everyone isn't talking about a smiling Cam with Manning instead of his pouting interview. He noticed a comment on how Manning placed his genitals on a trainers face. He googled it and proceeded to write his article about racial biased in the Super Bowl because no one "cared" about a 20 year old story.

It was a non-story started by a white guy who has been playing a black guy because he was mad "his people" were being attacked.

No one should be surprised about any of this. All of this was known for years. Document or not. The document adds no facts. it is the argument of the plaintiff's lawyers trying to win for their client.

That is so factually incorrect and ignorant that I laughed out loud. Did you read the documents at all? I'm not trying to stir something up but it seems to me that you have a huge underlying problem with race and your using this story for shouting material.

Do you know who Shaun King is?

The plaintiff's court argument has been available before. It was covered by USA Today over 10 years ago.

I know who Shaun King is. Yes, excerpts of the document were made available, but this was the first time that the document in it's entirety had been available. It wasn't a non-story. There was new information available and he reported on it. He didn't drag a story back from the dead.

The article and the Title IX aren't related. They just happen to be coming at the same time.

The article came out because it's the first time the 74-page court document has been released in full, correct? That's why Shaun King wrote the article. Still, it's not like some Panther fans are digging this up because they lost the Super Bowl. It's preposterous for some fans on here to even come to that conclusion and shows the blatant homer mentality that many here posses. It's a real story, over a real incident. Not some fan rumor.

Are you lambasting [ridiculing] RW for that or merely praising him for getting his slice of capitalistic pie PR?

I don't care either way. It's just that I can't get a handle on your tone. Is it sincere, sarcastic, or both?

All the best QBs possess a politician personality in some capacity. Translation: They know just what to say & when to say it with poise, polish, & panache in their voice.

A little bit of both. I understand being PC when your in the spotlight, but he seems almost robotic when he speaks and he is always in "pitch mode" like some PC, real life, football playing version of Don Draper. It makes it hard for me to relate to him, but it has brought me some good laughs over the years.

  10. The Panthers are kind of beat up and I like the Denver D to get a consistent pass rush on Newton all game. I think the Broncos secondary will be able to bully the Panthers WR's. I like Denver with the points. Has anyone ever used Bovada? And if so, how long does it take to upload the money onto their site.

Except for Gore, none of the older vets were worth their contracts if I'm not mistaken.  I think that Irsay is saying we need to be smarter in Free Agency.

All I know is that we better address the O line, somehow.  And not with old vets or 5th round picks.  Guys were available last year that could have started day one (like Cognito), but we went with a guy who didn't even finish the season on the team.  Can't fail like that again.

The best FA signing of the bunch was probably Kendall Langford. When you look at the FA signings that Grigson has completed over his tenure with the Colts, Walden, Langford, Adams and Ahmad Bradshaw to an extent have been his better acquisitions. What I'm saying is, hitting singles and doubles, to use a baseball term, have worked out a lot better than his homerun swings. So maybe Irsay pulling him back in a little bit and forcing him to focus on the areas where he excels is a pretty good long term move.
