Draft Day Thoughts
1) Glad I'm not an Eagles or Rams fan.
2) I would actually be happy with the Colts picking Zeke Elliot at #18.
3) Mel Kiper is proof that you don't need to have talent to be successful in life.
4) I've already resigned myself to the fact that Grigson is picking Dak Prescott or Cardale Jones in the 1st Round.
Happy Draft Day, everyone.

I think someone was chopping up a lot of onions next to my recliner when that commercial played.

I believe we were actually picking 29.... and the word leaked out from the Colts that they had Dorsett ranked in the "teens".... so, even at 19, he's 10 slots better than where we picked, and maybe even higher. Grigson said he was ranked so far higher than where we picked and there was no one else close. So, on that basis, I can live with the pick.
I think having 3 WR's that can make things happen will be enormously important for the Colts.
"Luxury pick" is code for.... "fill the need and don't take BPA" And, like you, I think that's wrong.
I'll say this, if we take another WR in 1st R this year, I won't cut Grigson any slack.
The front office stated goals are to fix the OL and build the defense. Pass on WR's......
Call me crazy but I still think the Dorsett pick could workout for the Colts

Doyel goes out of his way to throw red meat to his local readers. Whatever the popular opinion among fans tends to be, that's what he says and writes. He is a glorified fan boy.

That's okay. JJ Watt only has a few more years.
Well, that would explain why Ryan Grigson has been reluctant to invest in the offensive line.

If Brock Osweiler was as good as some people were hyping him up to be, Denver wouldn't have let him leave. Plain and simple. By the numbers, Denver had some of the worst QB play in the league last year regardless of which QB was under center. Houston will be wanting a mulligan on Osweiler by Week 12.

Scam by the NFL to get fans to spend more money on jerseys.

What about keeping the tradition going and signing one of Roddy White or Marques Colston for the number 4 WR? I mean. IMO either of those guys would be better than AJ was wouldn't you all think so? At the right price one of those 2 would be the perfect 4th receiver. Not to mention Hilton, Moncrief, and Dorsett would have another veteran to learn from.
Roddy White has no business being on a professional football team anymore. Marques Colston isn't much better. If you can't produce as a WR in New Orleans offense you're in the wrong profession.

Bleacher Report just put him 39th so they could get 38 more clicks from everyone to see who's ahead of him. I wouldn't take it too personal, the article was probably created in a dorm room at some state school between games of FIFA and beer pong.

Literally everyone I see talk about QBs skips him and mentions everyone else
if someone out there is talking about him then good for them he is good he's a winner
I'll bet anything that he is not a good NFL starting QB.

Connor Cook??? Really?? who is overrating him I have seen NO ONE hardly even mention his name here or on TV
You've never seen his named mentioned on ESPN or Fox Sports? You must not watch much TV. I've heard several pundits list him as a player who could be drafted early in the 2nd and developed. I'm not seeing it. Seems like it would be a waste of a high pick to me.

Noah Spence
Connor Cook
Derrick Henry

These are the kind of signings that Grigson has excelled at while in Indianapolis. I think that the secondary has a chance to be really good this season. Now, if they could just add some pass rushers....
-
About as optimistic as I am for the 2016 presidential election.
-
Well don't you worry because the Colts have two pass rushers who were pretty good three years ago, so they should be fine. You know how much Grigson loves his stars of yesteryear.

If it's any comfort to you, you weren't alone.
But the issue isn't talent. It's the locker room. The Colts put a tremendous premium, great importance on having a great locker-room. They want players that will respect one another and fight like mad for their teammate.
They don't want a club house cancer no matter how good a player is. And Incognito has been a club house cancer at practically every stopo along the way. I think he was at three different colleges and how many NFL teams? 4? 5? This past year in Buffalo might be the first time he's every behaved himself. Good for him.
But that's why you and others got killed. You don't get the importance of the Colts clubhouse/locker room culture.
I don't get it? The Colts take their chances on problem children just like any other team in the league. This isn't some safe haven where they only sign the most upstanding characters. Give me a break. Every team wants what you have stated. I got killed because people were overwhelming siding with the media and saying the politically correct thing, while I was saying the correct thing.

Same could be said about 85% of the veteran FA olineman signings throughout the NFL the past few years.
Actually, Incognito may have been the best signing.
I once said that I'd rather have Incognito on my team than Jonathon Martin and that the Colts should sign Incognito on the cheap. I got absolutely killed on it.

Congratulations New Orleans, here is what you got for $36 Million dollars....

Yeah we gave our 4 year contract to a TE with health issues
If we know one thing by now, it's that Grigson is always willing to double down on someone with health issues.

So long, Matt Overton.

Yet Trent Cole is still on the roster...
Josh Ferguson!!!!!

If Vick Ballard could make the team last year then there isn't a player alive who could be considered a long shot to make this team...
