  1. Thanks TKnight. Not the answer I wanted to hear, but it seems like they are being cautious with him. This will give D'Joun Smith some time to play with the first team. Hopefully a positive comes from this!

  2. Have you done a background check on our players? You might be surprised? If teams would draft Winston at #1 .... anything goes.

Isn't it time for you to do your daily colts hate on bleacher report? He posts bad about us there so you all know.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2540968-indianapolis-colts-training-camp-week-1-stock-report?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=indianapolis-colts

Check out the comment section and he's done it on other ones, this is the only one I could find. Sure he hates on the Colts at Indystar and stampedeblue as well.

  3. When I turned 18 a couple months after graduating from high school, I started playing online poker for 7 years off a $100 deposit and turned it into just over $250,000 in 7 years. I bought a house with that money and went to college for my accounting degree. Now since the Full Tilt scandal and the ban of online poker (a few sites still do it, but the population of players is very low and not very profitable), I only play part time and have to recently work for a living. I make about $70,000 a year (a bit more or less if I win a poker tourney now and then), and when you have a set income, it's a bit harder. I'm fortunate I was able to buy a house with my winning and investments while poker was in a boom period. Now it's tougher, and Ryan Broyles also seems to be doing well after busting from the NFL. Good for him. This isn't the biggest story in the world as far as news, but it's a good example for the rest of us.

  4.

I think I killed my draft haha

    QB-brees

    RB-peterson, mccoy, gurley, foster, sankey

    WR-green, hilton, mathews, cooper, fitz

    TE-thomas, gates

    D- bills, broncos

    K bailey

It's not fair to have two teams' draft picks in the draft lol. That is ridiculous as I've ever seen, great job. I hope it's a money league or a league with people on here so you'll have huge bragging rights when you win the league!

  5. its a 8 league. im mostly not happy with my wrs even though I think mathews will have a monster year

You are ok, even though 8 makes it a bit worse. If you can get those two RB's, you are still ahead of the game. My suggestion would be to get an extra TE and only 1 DEF. If you get a top 5 one, you shouldn't be playing the matchups with it. Grab a different TE like Travis Kelce or Jordan Cameron instead, they may turn out to be better than Julius and you have a better matchup player. Matthews and Cooper should be really good. Matthews is looking solid, and Cooper has had a monster training camp. Green is a low end no1 still.

IMO, 8 team leagues are luck based and it's why I don't do them. A very small fall of someone in the draft can make or break a team. It can also be the the differece between an elite team or not, and a playoff team or not. GL and be careful in the draft.

  6. This has got to be a ten team league at worst, and it might be 8. This is a very good team. Tell me your league size and I'll judge it. Two top 8 RBs, a solid QB, very good receivers, and a decent TE. Either this is a very small league or you have too high expectations, lol. I can't tell if you are being sarcastic, if so, great team!

this is the team I mostly get in mocks. tell me what you think

    QB-big ben, brady

    RB-peterson,mccoy,gordon,gurley

    WR-green,jordan mathews,cooper,marshall, fitz

    TE-julius thomas

    D-bills, rams

    K-parkley

im not really happy with it

  7. The same reason it took so long African americans to be thought of as human beings with thoughts. feelings......It was not socially acceptable at the time......Some white people did in fact consider black people as humans back then and that they should be treated with respect and be accorded the same rights as whites...But the majority did not (going with my example here). Back then you did not have social media, Some people new women could coach back(speaking of basketball now) then no doubt but it was not socially acceptable to put that out there.....Now over time it has become much more sociably acceptable

Now instead of the few people that believe women can coach you have many more and thanks to time and social media people can come together much easier and stand up to those that think the opposite (though those that think opposite is not nearly as many as there once was)

That made a lot of sense. Very good response there, and I appreciate it. I can't disagree with any of it. Lets wish her the best and see what happens. Good talk.

  8. So is the next woman that's going to be hired(Because there will be more) because said coach that hired her hired her because "well Bruce Arians hired a woman so I will to".....Furthermore do you think a coach wants to risk his job all for the sake of hiring a woman just to hire a woman? Sounds risky and counter-productive don't you think? I think your also failing to mention that Hammon had 15 years of playing under her belt was a 6 time WNBA All Star.......In other words she knew how to play the game

Tell me this then, why now? Why wasn't a woman hired earlier and why was a woman hired in the NFL right after the Spurs hired their new woman coach? I never said either weren't qualified, I'm saying the timing of the hire is suspect as it is. I believe Poppy on the Spurs hired someone he thought was qualified, I can make that argument becuase he did it first and as you pointed out, she has an impressive resume. Arians played the copycat role to get publicity because of how quick he did something that has never been done concidently after the spurs coach did something that was never done in basketball.

  9. "but she got the job because Arians wanted to do something the NBA did.

Do you have any proof of this statement you state as fact?

Just the fact that A.) The BOOM BOOM timing of her being signed immediately after the Spurs coach. Arians gains some publicity now and gives a female a chance. Anyone with half a brain knows he's taking a page out of Poppy's playbook. B.) He signed her AFTER the spurs signed their coach, not before. It's possible he had her in mind, but when something groundbreaking happens in one sport, someone tends to copy it. C.) A women's coach was signed just today instead of 5 or 10 years ago. You don't find it concidental that just now is the first NFL female coach? There were plenty of qualified women 5 and 10 years ago as well. The NBA coach gave the possibility that this would happen, someone had to start it in a sport and now that it is started, Bruce Arians can hire a woman and build off the NBA's energy. If he took initiative and hired her first, I wouldn't say a word about it.

As you can see, this isn't a big deal. I hope she does a great job and I'm rooting for her, especially since she's in the NFC and working under Bruce Arians. I just have a problem with the timing of the hire, as it's a publicity move more than anything. I hope she can do a great job and earn her stripes.

  10. I don't think it's fair to say such a thing. She got the job in spite of her gender, and perhaps (I know this may be a shock) .....perhaps she's actually qualified?

It's fair to say. I do believe she is qualified, but she got the job because Arians wanted to do something the NBA did. As you can see with my previous post, I hope she does well. I still like Bruce Arians and I respect his decisions and believe he knows what he is doing. Anyone with common sense though knows she mainly got signed for shock value as well. She may be qualified, but I don't think Arians pulls the trigger unless Poppy does with the Spurs first. The other factor I have with the shock value thing is that Arians may have sacrificed hiring someone more qualified in order to make a statement that he believes a woman can do just as good as a man. Good luck to her and Arians, I hope they do a great job and beat up the Seahawks especially. I just hope he didn't sign her over someone else for the media attention and shock value and crush their dream, as that would be a shame. I can't wait to see how the players react to her.

  11. Props to Duron Carter, he had a great day and definitely showed he belongs on this team! The great thing about his performance today is that now our WR situation is completely up in the air after Hilton and Andre. If Carter completely balls in the preseason, he could be the 3rd WR potentially. We may of gotten a potential high pick player for free here. Can't wait to see what tomorrow and the preseason brings!

  12. "You aren't too bright, are you?"

Was it really THAT necessary to say that? That's a good way to get somebody to start a thread war with you next thing you know you get pages and page sof back and forth meaningless verbal assaults to the point that mods eventually get tired of it and then a good thread gets closed....All because somebody didn't think before he decided to thump his chest uneccesarily

Im not trying to single you out, you are not the first and wont be the last, Just trying to give you an idea of how things can get out of hand quick with a single chest thumping comment

It was necessary, he quoted me and acted like I was stupid for not hearing the Grigson interview a couple days ago, when my post was almost 3 months ago. If he wouldn't of quoted me, I wouldn't of said that. He made a mistake 100%, he won't start anything. Not a big deal.

  13. Did anyone hear the Grigson interview with Dan Dakich?

Dakich asked point blank, "Will you resign Castonzo and Hilton?"  Grigson's reply: "Yes.  Not only are these guys talented players, they epitomize everything this organization stands for.  The are constantly working hard, they never take a play off, and they are their own harshest critics."

I'm paraphrasing everything except the "yes" part.  That is verbatim what Grigson said.

You aren't too bright, are you? I said this on May 16, when there was plenty of talk about Dorsett replacing Hilton and also when Hilton was upset about Dorsett being drafted. I'm not sure how I could hear an interview Grigson had on August 5th three months later when I posted this three months earlier. Next time, check the dates on the threads you are posting on.

  14. Agree with some comments above, not good, but not horrible. I was expecting an ACL tear when I saw the headline to this thread. He'll survive and may get a bit of playing time this year as well. If this is our worst injury, we are okay. He'll miss a couple games and that's it.

  15. I feel bad for the 49ers fans having to go through all this stuff this offseason. Both sad and hilarious at the same time since it's all on the defensive side. As far as Aldon goes, he's a waste of a football player and he can't be out of the league quick enough. I hope he gets some Jail time from this and can get some help there. At worst suspend him for the year.

  16. The Indianapolis Colts claimed a player off waivers Thursday who will not see the field in 2015.

So, why did this acquisition result in elation inside the organization?

Because acquiring cornerback Tevin Mitchel was a move that was a long time in the making.

The sixth-round pick of the Washington Redskins was waived-injured Wednesday after suffering a shoulder injury that will require surgery. He won't play this season.

But, according to an NFL source, Mitchel was a late-round target of the Colts in the NFL draft earlier this year – until the Redskins grabbed him.

Absolutely love it! Even better getting a targeted draft player on waivers! Big coup for us. :) Great post Krunk!
