  1. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I am not saying Ballard is insane, but you are right, his stubbornness, unwillingness to be flexible is clearly hurting the growth of this team.
  2. Yes, I was speaking of last off-season when the Eagles were trying to trade him. We could have acquired him quite cheaply then.
  3. Okay, so tell me why the Colts want to give $6 million a year to a guy they barely use in their offense (MAC) but wouldn't play $10 million to Ertz last year who logged 56 receptions, 574 yds, and 3 TD's, almost as many receptions and yards as Doyle and MAC combined.
  4. The Colts really need to slow down on their frenetic pace of FA acquisitions........it is simply unsustainable. At this rate we will burn through our $70 million in 2-4 offseasons. Say it with me Delayed Gratification......Delayed Gratification.....
  5. The problem is the Colts want everyone on a cheap deal....thus the plethera of FA signings today....oh wait.
  6. Of course it does. That was the CB plan all along once Doyle retired. That way we spend as little of our $70 million FA stash as possible. Don't you understand the CB strategy yet?
  7. So MAC was our FA priority? This what we have been waiting for is to re-up our current players who are producing at minimal levels? I can't really figure out why this team is not getting any better?
  8. What good does 7-pro bowlers and $70 million in FA money do when you cant making the playoffs? Ask how many of those guys if they would trade their pro bowl nod last year for a shot in the playoffs.
  9. The Colts could have done this deal 6-week ago. Why are they wasting time with it now? It is like the Colts are 3 to 4 steps behind every other team.
  10. I like MAC but it doesn't help if you never use him in the offense. I bet if we wait long enough we can get a better deal on signing T.Y. Hilton again, although we might not need him because I bet we are going after Chester Rogers. If we can steal him back from the Titans and pair him with MPJ, imagine what this receiving corps could do? This sounds like a Ballard budget signing made in heaven (yes this is PO sarcasm if you can't tell)
  11. Sure, teams like KC, Buffalo, Tampa, and other contenders only need a few pieces to fill out their rosters so they can afford to wait. The Colts have several areas of need to fill but never do. That is why they remain in the bottom tier of teams.
  12. I agree....but when you don't really participate in FA spending you never win those deals for a guy like Reddick. There has to be some happy medium right? Maybe overpay a little bit? Ballard has always approached FA looking for deals on the cheap.....what results has this produced?
  13. It is a great list. Do you want to take any bets that the Colts sign absolutely none of those players?
  14. I am not disagreeing its an overpay...but at what point do the Colts become bystanders in this entire process? The good news is that Chester Rogers is a FA this year, If Ballard is willing to get crazy we can probably steal him back from the Titans.
  15. We say that every year and the prices keep going up. The first problem with the current strategy of CB is that we never add any impact players via FA. The second problem is those players go to our AFC competitors. Guess who are the finalists for Robinson? Kansas City and Cleveland. Cleveland is loading up....the Colts are imploding! Its not hard to predict how this is going to turn out.
  16. This will be the new rate going forward......Robinson will probably get close to $20 million now.
  17. I think you have to pay that amount because you never know when you are going to get another chance at a cap like that.
  18. Oh yes......delayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyd gratification, I keep forgetting.
  19. What is wrong when players want to go play for the Jaguars over the Colts? I am not convinced the Colts are making competitive offers! https://nfltraderumors.co/jaguars-expected-to-sign-wr-christian-kirk/
  20. Looks like the Bengals are intent on protecting the QB who took them to the Super Bowl! https://nfltraderumors.co/bengals-signing-ol-ted-karras-to-three-year-18m-deal/
  21. Colts announce coaching changes including the addition of Reggie Wayne! https://nfltraderumors.co/colts-announce-10-coaching-staff-changes-including-reggie-wayne-as-wrs-coach/
  22. Agreed, and it would definitely help the Colts if we can sign/acquire a QB that players want to play for sooner rather than later.
  23. Neither were the Patriots last FA offseason and they had no problem signing players. FA players did not even know who their QB was going to be at the time.
  24. Davante Adams informs Packers he won't play on franchise tag in 2022! Don't get too excited about Adams going to another team. This is nothing more than a negotiation tactic to get a long-term deal. The Packers and Adams are far apart in negotiations and this will bring them back to the table. No way he is leaving after Rodgers returned. Look for a subtle hint from Rodgers this week about how much he wants his top WR target back.
