  1. Did you really just cut Darius Butler?

Linkenbach > Bradley Sowell by a long shot.

Need another OG, I prefer Reitz.

We have no safeties if Boyett is going be on PUP and you cut Lefeged, Lefeged has to make the roster.

My opinion Brazill makes the team fairly easy as the 4th or 5th with Whalen

This was REALLY tough, I went with some youth at some positions, I'm not saying this is how it should go.  This is just my attempt, probably (most likely) flawed.  LOL

  2. This is a tough call, I went through it once (with I thought a harsh critique) and came up with 37 cuts.  Here they are.

    Brazill, LaVon                 Chapman, Allen

    Cleary, Emmett              Gordy, Josh

    Green, Marshay             Griffin, Robert

    Harnish, Chandler          Heard, Kellen

    Howell, Delano               Ijalana, Ben

    Jones, Dominique          Kelley, Jeremy

    Lefeged, Joe                  Linkenbach, Jeff

    Lutrus, Scott                  Mathews, Ricardo

    McGlynn, Mike              Meggett, Davin

    Moore, Dan                   Palmer, Nathan

    Prime, C.O.                   Rayford, Caesar

    Reitz, Joe                      Rumble, Rodrick

    Sambrano, Jabin          Sampson, Lanear

    Saunders, Weslye        Schmeig, Rick

    Simmons, Monte          Spears, Quinton

    Tevaseu, Martin           Ziemba, Lee

    Vinatieri, Adam            Price, Sheldon

    McKinney, Brandon     Carter, Delone

    Butler, Darius

With John Boyett on PUP to start season, then on IR, opening up a spot later for someone from the PS.  Rayford Caesar, Sheldon Price, Rodrick Rumble, Griff Whalen, Marshay Green, Jeremy Kelley, Delano Howell and Emmett Cleary would be the PS.  This can all change depending on injuries, who stands our in camp, etc.  But this would be my final roster:

    Allen, Dwayne                Anderson, Justin

    Angerer, Pat                   Asante, Larry

    Ballard, Vick                  Bethea, Antoine

    Boyett, John                  Bradshaw, Ahmad

    Brown, Donald              Brown, Sergio

    Castonzo, Anthony        Chapman, Josh

    Cherilus, Gosder           Conner, Kavell

    Cunningham, Justice    Davis, Vontae

    Fleener, Coby               Franklin, Aubrayo

    Freeman, Jerrell           Guy, Lawrence

    Harvey, Mario               Hasselbeck, Matt

    Havili, Stanley               Heyward-Bey, Darrius

    Hickman, Justin            Hilton, T.Y.

    Holmes, Khaled            Hughes, Montori

    Jean Francois, Ricky    Landry, LaRon

    Luck, Andrew               Mathis, Robert

    McAfee, Pat                 McManus, Brandon

    Moala, Fili                    Nevis, Drake

    Overton, Matt               Redding, Cory

    Satele, Samson           Sheppard, Kelvin

    Sidbury, Lawrence      Sowell, Bradley

    Swanson, Daxton        Thomas, Donald

    Thornton, Hugh           Toler, Greg

    Vaughn, Cassius        Walden, Erik

    Wayne, Reggie          Whalen, Griff

    Williams, Kerwynn     Williams, Teddy

  3. Whatever CB we grabbed!! That is our biggest need. You see, CBs create awesome pass rush and we need to pressure the QB in the absence of Free. Also, good CBs will take pressure off of our offensive line.

    Definitely CB.

This is the most confusing post I've read in a long time.  I'm assuming you meant DE or DT, CBs don't create a pass rush!

  4. Stop mentioning the Colts need a RB.  Our RB situation is better than most in the league.  Ballard is a star in the making, Brown (with some blocking) has great speed and ,at worst, would be the Colts 2nd RB.  And Carter will improve his handle on the football, the guy NEVER fumbled in college.  NEVER.  He had a few bad moments and never really given another chance.  I'm not saying you guys shouldn't have an opinion or think RB is a need, but so many different posts about trading Brown, drafting a RB when there are greater needs.  This is just my opinion, feel free to ridicule it, but I feel our RB situation is a good one.

  5. No offense to OP, but RB is NOT a need.  Ballard has amazing talent, Brown DOES have vision and speed and the ability to score on every touch (if he has *some* blocking).  And Carter has a bad rap, but I still think he'll be our bruiser, between the tackles runner, goal line RB.  Carter had 2 fumbles and basically didn't get another chance.  And I'll repeat what others have said, "OUR O-LINE WAS TERRIBLE LAST YEAR"

  6. The refs just screwed the Packers out of the game. I hope Seattle isn't proud of this victory. Jennings had the ball, not to mention Tate pushed off and should've been pass interference!! I'm not a fan of either team, so, this doesn't affect me, but I think the ending to this game was garbage

  7. I must give QB Andrew Luck props for looking off the Rams safety during the Austin Collie TD in the corner of the endzone. I just love superb secondary manipulation with a field general's eyes. I was also very pleased to see CB Chris Rutker pick off an inception in the 4th quarter to end the Rams near scoring drive and secure a Colts victory. OLB Jerry Hughes looked like he knew what he was doing for once, but I need to see him against a stellar defense first like the Ravens, Jets, or Steelers first. The Rams defense was just awful. No real legitimate competition there right now anyway.

You do realize Jerry Hughes plays defense, don't you? He won't go up against other defenses, but the offenses of our opponents.

I really like WR Levon Brazil who snatches the ball out of the air quite well. Backup QB Drew Stanton almost made me forget about how horrible Curtis Painter was last year and he has a nice touch on the ball too. Plus, the best part, Stanton doesn't lock in on a receiver way too early either. In addition, I liked the emphasis Pagano placed on the ground game all 4 quarters. RB's Carter, Ballard, Evans, & Brown all had decent carries IMO.

Our o-line pass protection needs some work though. Luck is primarily a pocket passer. We need to give him a clean pocket like Tom Brady had in 2007. Again, our o-line must take half a season or more to gel. Overall, I give the Colts a B in Preseason Game 1 because our competition was subpar. The Rams secondary was not great, 2 bad QB throws cost their squad touchdowns, and penalties due to a lack of concentration were drive killers for their squad.

Really?? I could see your point if this was a close game, or we played badly. Colts & Rams were both 2-14 last year, so, they are technically both subpar (based on last year's records). I don't expect people to get overly excited or down based on 1 game, but this game was an A+ for the Colts. New coach, new system, new QB, and dominated another team. What more could you ask for in game 1 of preseason?

I wanna see what LUCK does with an overload blitz where our o-line cannot pick everyone up...A decent first showing. Let's see some exotic blitzes and full pass rush rotation first. Thank you.

  8. Kudos to Statewrestlingchampion & P-Money for getting the right person, and to Shakedownstreet for get the 1st pass going for a TD like Peyton's rookie debut!!

But, I'd have to say MalevolentShrimp is the winner!! Congrats!!
