  1. I believe MVP is stretch.

Though setting the NFL record of 4 td passes in one game and matching it the following week is impressive.

    Currenlty he's at 152.5 for today's game.

If you're talking about the record for TD passes by a rookie, the actual record is 5 by Stafford.

I'm not sure that's what you were talking about though.

  2. true but how many 5'9" physical receivers do ya know that can handle being jammed at the LOS against a physical Corner that can also go get a ball when it has to be placed in a specific spot

It's not like when Hilton and those other short WRs get jammed that they get completely taken out of the play. Heck i've seen Fitz and Megatron get jammed before.
  3. The problem is not many of these guys exist anymore. It's a different game. But at the same time why not get a guy who can do those things, AND go get the ball.

I'm trying to think of a player drafted in the last 6years that meets your criteria, and simply can't.

Maybe there are... but the're just stuck in a really bad QB play offense. Harvin comes to mind.. Oh and (Greg)Jennings's game is alot like Marv and Reggies. Cecil Shorts looks very promising but is stuck with Gabbert at QB.
  4. It's looking like Smith is the last one. He is something like 32/33.

I think the best representation of Hilton currently, and it recently drafted is the Maclin/Jackson combo in Philly.

Those guys have an erratic QB who sucks, we don't. Hilton was drafted in a spot where he can show his true potential, which may or may not be a #1 receiver. But I really don't care if he is or not. As long as he catches the ball more consistently (which he will in time) and stretches the field.
  5. I know what a NT's job is in a 3-4, I know he rarely provided any pass rush at NT at Bama (something like 2.5 sack in his career). I didnt know aou the MVP thing or is that just an opinion?

Again with your stats man. I remember you told me about some guy you want drafted in this upcoming draft. Something like "He might not have the stats to show for it but he provides pressure". Same could be said for Chapman, who played with a torn ACL last year.
  6. I'd take a tall guy thats a 1 on 1 mismatch that can go up and get the ball as my #1

Maybe we don't need a guy to go up and get a ball if our QB was accurate enough to not put it in that position, which Andrew Luck is. That #1 guy you want is a luxury, not a need. I prefer guys like Reggie and Marvin, who use precision and great ball skills to beat their man, not jump 10 feet in the air to catch an overthrown ball.
  7. he's a true number one and brazil has number two potential if he gets more passes thrown his way

Not yet that's for sure. Maybe not even ever. But we don't need him to be. We have two stud TE's which I believe could be a really good TEs in the future, Allen I believe could be a true #1 TE. And we will probably draft Reggie's replacement in a year or two, because none of the guys on our roster yell "#1 receiver" to me. I hope one of them proves me wrong, but I doubt it.
  8. To be fair Hilton's stat line could look more evened out if he caught some of the dang balls. There were some games where he has 30-40 rec yards, but could've easily had 50-60 had he caught a perfectly thrown ball. He will get more consistent in time.

  9. Gordon is on the Browns, a much worse team. And generally on the 1 or 2 CB. Missed all of TC and a few preseason games, in a tougher division and tougher spot than Hilton. In my book he gets the nod on the better season to this point.

Again I don't know that consistency is the right word. But Hilton completely disappears in other games. Is it scheme. Luck. Play calls etc. I don't know.

But if we as Colts fans are going to go bananas over 3 100yd games, then we should also consider the 7 where he did nothing. It's objective.

And people. Myself included consider him a slot guy because there are 0 #1wr in the NFL his size.

I don't think he has to be a #1 WR. Steve Smith is 5 9" and he's a #1 WR...Yet Smith is alot stronger, but he is the same size height wise. I think T.Y could be that guy where his yards per catch is ridiculously high and has over 1000 yards a season like Mike Wallace, but isn't a true #1..
  10. We let him pass and opted for Angerer in the 2nd round. He went in the 3rd.

I sometimes really wish we chose him instead of Angerer, but i'm not upset with Angerer either.

Either way, he's a beast. Some were even thinking he could be better than Willis, which he isn't, but darn close.

  11. If we can contain the run, and I feel we can, this game will be a blowout in our favor.

I'm not scared of there weapons outside of Spiller. I think they are all high caliber players, but I'm not scared of Stevie Johnson, Fitz, or Jackson.

If we can get out to an early lead, I think Fitzpatrick will make mistakes leading to our victory.

I feel the exact same way.
  12. Ballard is slowly taking the starting RB spot as his own. He also pass blocks and catches the ball pretty well for a rookie. Alot better than Brown in those spots when he was a rookie, especially in pass blocking.

  13. Looking at the playoff picture if the season ended today:

All the wild cards have been to the Super Bowl or won it in the past 5 years:

    -Steelers

    -Patriots

    -Colts

-Seahawks (7 years is close enough :)

    -Bears

    -Giants

    -Packers

The teams with the first bye week always flop in the playoffs somehow:

    -Falcons

    -Texans

    -Ravens

    -49ers

To me it looks like the Giants are going to the Super Bowl again this year since they can easily pick apart the Falcons, Bears, Packers, and 49ers...

Of course this is just a prediction

Colts were never a wild-card the years they went to the Super Bowl.

The others i'm probably not even sure of now. Too lazy to look them up..

  14. He's got Starter Potential. Only question, will he show it??

Where on Earth does it say he has starter potential? I have read as much a I can about this kid and all our other draft picks. There is nothing that says he has starter potential.

    I'm just curious...

And if it's because our really bad o-line, then I see what you did there.

  15. When the guy fumbles during the game and bobbles it on another punt return (not to mention not returning more than 15 yards each time), IT'S TIME FOR A NEW GUY. The blocking isn't great, but TY was just horrible today.

    Give me a break.

You still did not answer my question. I'm unsatisfied with T.Y as a returner too, but do you know for a fact LaVon will be better? Like you said?
