I'll eat crow if this guy (i've watched alot of tape on him) turns out to be a productive starter. A weaker satele is what i see/saw.

Hughes' playing time would have been probably half if not less than he's getting at Buffalo. HE wasn't going to play ahead of Mathis and he can't play the run like Walden or even Werner can, so how did we lose so bad to Buffalo in this trade when he wasn't going to play anyways?
Even if you slice hughes stats in half according to lack of playing time...he still out performs shep in every imaginable way.

Correct larry wardford would be a stud.Misses: NONE. -
You should have invited Peyton. He's sent back personalized "cannot attend" notes in the past.
Yes, maybe so.

Holmes is the Colts equivalent of Bigfoot, I need more than some grainy year old film shot by a suspect eye witness to believe he exists......sorry....
FAIR ENOUGH. I hope he's more than a flash in the pan too. But don't get too excited over him.
-
At least someone gets it......
I don't give a lick about buzzcut or jones. The city of baltimore can have them. LET'S MOVE ON.
-
Josh is a cheap option, and we really can't afford throwing around money to guys that may or may not workout. We have more pressing needs and signings.

Well, i invited pattymac and irsay to my delayed wedding (already married, but chinese do things differently here), but haven't heard back yet. It would be cool, if one of them showed up.
-
Hopefully someone in this thread had to much to drink on Christmas
Yes, i sure did. I needed it also. The chinese firewater sure hit the spot. My apologies for being a tool.
-
Also, i'm sorry if i appeared to be a complete butt in this thread. I'm just in a negative nancy mood, because i'm dealing with a similiar injury (well, my wife is). I love D.A. also and hope to god he can recover.

Great discussion.. MaoBerry, always enjoy reading your comments..
As for DA, i don't care if it's top 3, top 5, top 10, based on what? Yards? Td's? Blocking (how do you rate that?) subjective..
All i know is, if he comes back healthy, we will have one of the best, all-round tight ends in the nfl..
So, can't wait to see him play next season!
Ah, you made me blush. But seriously thank you so much for picking our INDY colts to follow and cheer for! It means so much to us that you find value in our team and organization. I hope we never let you down and if we do, then its normally the refs fault.
-
Are you claiming this Allen kid is the best blocking tight end in the NFL? Really?
Dustin is right...allen is the best blocking TE in the league. I never questioned his ability, just his health.
-
Honestly I think Mcnary is the man for the job.
I'm happy with rolling with josh being next to jerrell. I think its a productive tandem.
-
Honestly I think Mcnary is the man for the job.
And comes cheap as well.

You can continue pretending the team started in 1984 in some silly pride complex formed between two cities. Meanwhile I'll continue to embrace the rich past, present, and future of a great franchise. Just don't forget most of those players in 1984 were Colts before you were a fan.
I strongly disagree. I completely ignore colt players before 1984. Plus the vast majority of baltimore colt players ignore indy as well (including buzzcut). So FORGET THEM and johnny can have his smelly old sneakers back as well..

I'm sorry..... who is Kory Sheets?
I've just checked the roster and there's no one by that name anywhere on the roster. Can you give us more info?
Correction. The colts are expected to sign kory sheets after the season (after february 15th) .
-
Allen is not a top three type tight end, but the Colts can have a top five or six tandem of tight ends.
This i agree with, but more like top 2 or 3 tandem in the league.

He was signed to a future contract with the colts (we unfortunately couldn't play him this year) .He'll be in camp next year, once his CFL obligations are through. He's one of the CFL biggest stars at RB/KR/PR . He was awesome at purdue as well and showed great promise when he was with the dolphins and 9ers...before the injuries.

point....? Many players in the NFL have underwent season ending surgery, and nearly all of them have returned 100%, or even better than 100%. Until you can tell me the specifics of the injury, which you can't. You have no business here telling me the effects of it on him. If you didn't know, there are probably over 50 injuries to your hip that could put you out for the season, some are worse than others
-
Which doesn't mean his career is over...
Yes, i know that. We should bring allen along slowly is the jist of my point. NONE OF US TRULY KNOW THE SITUATION SINCE ITS NEVER BEEN STATED. The fact that its kept so secretive is concerning.
-
They never specified. It's just listed as a hip-injury which could mean a ton of things.
That also required season ending surgery.
-
Like I said before, you have no clue what the injury to his hip was
-
They're good. All 6 are about even in run blocking, but his pass blocking is what sets Allen apart where he's basically unmatched.
I'd also throw Martellus Bennett's name in there.
Yes, allen's the best blocker of them all. Also, what about that kid from the browns?
-
Will you quit saying "this type of injury", when you have no clue what the actual injury is
Can you read?! DEAR GOD! Its listed as a hip injury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was the big knack on him coming out (serious strength and conditioning issues). He gets blown up at the point of attack. We mainly held him out due to this fact. We as fans can only hope he's improved (so far...so good).
