No to Jacobs, he's a RB who will have a limited career, and not even a particularly dynamic or versatile RB like Barkley or McCaffrey.

I'm not sure what your definition of versatile is, but Jacobs runs hard (with an attitude), pass blocks well and is a good reciever out of the backfield.  He is not explosive and therefore probably not a homerun hitter, but he is versatile.  I am a fan of how hard he plays.  That being said, I don't really care for any RB being picked in the first round.

I think Georgia is right there with them like you said. With the amount of talent they have, Ohio St. should be in the conversation but their defensive lapses this past season were baffling. I also think Texas will be elite again very soon. Tom Herman is building a monster in Austin. And as long as Lincoln Riley is in Norman, Oklahoma will be formidable. Maybe they'll get that defense figured out sometime lol.

It would be nice if more teams were on the same level as Clemson and Alabama, at least from a fan perspective.

I am interested to see how Jalen Hurts does at Oklahoma this year.  Texas A&M looks like they are on the rise now that Jimbo Fisher is there.  Their recruiting has improved a lot.  The Pac 12 looks like they have fallen off a cliff.  Those teams are having a hard time keeping west coast recruits staying home.

2018 (Redshirt Senior): Delivered dominant final season, starting all 12 games in regular season and earning second-team All-ACC honors...Led ACC with 18.0 tackles for loss, more than any defensive tackle in FBS.

There fixed it for you, no one said you didn't put the part about FBS in there, just that you mentioned a conference and then asked "Where did you see conference in my post?".  Well, it's right there in the bolded, ACC.  Other posters have pointed out that you were also incorrect about his height, facts seem to be an issue with you.

Ok lets take this a little slower. More than any DT in FBS means that no matter which DT you like in the upcoming draft (2019) Gerald Willis III had more tackles for loss than your favorite DT. Not only did Gerald Willis III lead the ACC in tackles for loss, He also had more than your favorite DT in the country in 2018.

You can take it as slow as you want to.  It doesn't change the fact that you did bring up a conference (ACC) and then asked where did you see conference in your post?

Let me know when you read my post in BOLD LETTER. We are talking about a Defensive Tackle no? I clearly wrote more than any Defensive Tackle in FBS.

Actually this his tells me about who I’m writing to (target audience). It appears to me that not everyone know what a DT is nor what FBS means.

What has the bolded got to do with the fact that you did bring up a conference in your post?  You clearly wrote ACC, aka Atlantic Coast Conference or did you not know what ACC means?

Where did you see conference in my post? “More than any Defensive tackle in FBS” means the country. Smh. If a player gives you the most in anything (yards, TFL, INT, Pancakes,Sacks, TDs, etc) how could you say well yea, he was hot/cold.

So by your account Bosa should be hot/cold because he missed games while injured. However Bosa may be top 5 drafted. Smh

You literally posted that he "Led ACC with 18.0 tackles for loss,".  The ACC is a conference.  I don't have a strong opinion on him, he may turn out to be great.  However, you did mention a conference in your post.

The odds are we will get nothing for him if we keep him next season and let him go.
We Are going to sign more FA than we let go, so that will wipe out us getting ANY comp picks.

That could happen as well, depending on what happens in free agency next year.

I think it’s highly unlikely that Brissett would bring the Colts a 3rd round comp pick.   Those picks are determined in large part on the size of the FA contract he signs.

Do you see Brissett signing a FA deal that averages more than $10 mill a year?    I sure don’t.   And that’s about what it would take.

So if we keep JB one more year the Colts would more likeky be looking at a 4 or a 5 as a comp pick.   A 3 is a long shot.

If he leaves, odds are it will be for the opportunity to start.  Starting QBs get more than 10mil a year, unless they are on their rookie contracts.  So, yes if he leaves I believe he will probably get more than 10mil.  Could I be wrong, absolutely.

If he is just leaving to be a back up, he might as well stay here.

simple economics. just like a dollar, having a draft pick now is always worth more this year, than next.

a third round pick next year doesn't help you on the field this year. a third round pick this year can.

That depends on who is available and who is drafted, it is not anything like money.  Also, having JB this year is more valuable to another team than having him next year since he is still on his rookie contract.  Next year he will be much more expensive to sign.

a third round pick this year, is worth more than a third round pick next year. it's that simple. the whole "i want a second now, or i'll take a third later" is nothing but sales theater to me.

I'm not sure what you base the bolded on.

just part of the sales pitch/game i'd imagine. Ballard isn't going to say out loud, "hey we'll take a 3rd or 4th for him cause we want to get rid of him before he leaves as a FA"....

like i said earlier, it's too early to expect any real offers. top FA QBs and others top guys on the block will be the first to drop. JB's situation to me says any action at all will happen right around (before or after), the draft. i could see Ballard preferring a personnel trade too.

I not so sure it is part of a sales process.  If he does leave as a FA, odds are the Colts would get a 3rd round comp pick for him.  Why would they take anything less than a 2 for him this year, especially since he is on his rookie contract?

That being said, I am not sure another team would be willing to give up a 2nd round pick.

The leap from 'paying for sex' and 'involved in human trafficking and knowingly soliciting under age girls' is what I'm referring to.

Go ahead and judge away that there is evidence of multiple visits and video evidence. But the 'rushing to judgement before facts are known' and the 'he must have known' crowd need to take a step back...because once that narrative gets out, regardless of its level of truth, then there's no coming back from it and that simply isn't fair.

I agree, we should wait until the investigation is done before making judgements.  Unfortunately, that is not how society is now, there is always a need for hot takes not matter the situation, that is what moves the needle.

Can you imagine the contender we'd be if we brought in OBJ, AB, Bell, Collins, and Suh?

It would be epic, monstrous, unstoppable.

    Is that trolling?

Well, the Colts would more than likely "win the offseason" if that were to happen.

    From the article:

“Ben is the unquestioned leader of this group,” Colbert told reporters. “Like I said, he’s the elder statesmen and the Super Bowl winner. If our players were smart, they’d listen to him because he’s been there. He’s done it. He can tell them, ‘No guys, what you’re doing is or is not good enough to do this.’ And I honestly believe that that can be a burden on him more often than he may like to admit, because he has to — he’s got 52 kids under him, quite honestly. I want them to step up and say, ‘Hey Ben, what do I have to do? Can I do this better? What do we have to do to win a Super Bowl?’

Wow, according to the Steelers G.M., Ben is the elder statesman and the other players are kids.  I'm sure that will help the locker room in Pittsburgh.

Just out of curiosity, are you guys talking about the Colts trading Brissett as a "sell high" kind of thing? Or is there some level of dissatisfaction with him? I don't think they would get as much in return as some of you are thinking, and I also feel like not having a capable backup in this league is extremely risky.

I believe you have the situation/conversation pegged.

Yeah I'm not sure I like that Quenton Nelson story.  I'm all about giving it everything you have on every play but you can do that and be a good sport.

    Yeah, neither do I.

The second part is great, the first part doesn't impress me.

As long as he keeps it on the field and is not a dirty player, I am okay with it.  I wouldn't do it that way, but I have seen much worse behavior.
