  1. Looks like he still has a quick burst and really good vision. Even if he's a more durable Bradshaw I'm happy. Cause I love me some Bradshaw. Dude just can't stay healthy. Unlike Trent who has no vision or burst.

I hope we can resign Bradshaw on a short deal too.

Gore + Bradshaw would be fantastic. It's like the philosphy of the Trent + Bradshaw combo without a completely ineffective power back. Should keep Bradshaw healthy too, not seeing the field as much.

  2. Vet min for a guy who was our best lineman when healthy. I don't appreciate the sarcasm.

He's played in 1.5 games in one season across two years of being on this team- yet in that (I'll be generous and say 90 minutes of playtime) you've been able to say that he is the best?

Yep, let's flush cap space down the toilet so this guy can stub his toe walking to the buffet and be out for another season.

    Magnificent philosophy.

  3. Name a better player. Oh, and if you say a QB then that automatically disqualifies you.

How about I list all the guys I would rather have in the 'shoe than AP at age 30.

    Rob Gronkowski

    Calvin Johnson

    Jimmy Graham

Le'Veon Bell (2100 yards from scrimmage last year)

    Eddie Lacy

    Marshawn Lynch

Odell Beckham Jr (tentatively due to being a rookie)

    If we're also including defenders

    JJ Watt

Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor

    Luke Keuchly

    Darrelle Revis

    Ndamukong Suh

    Jurrel Casey

    C.J. Mosely

All of these guys have game breaking ability. Don't act like AP is going to be some godlike Barry Sanders reincarnate after being out for a year. He's 30 years old and about 3 years past his prime. Sorry man, no chance.

  4. Hmm. Trade targets?

I'd look at Kenny Vaccaro with the Saints. We could probably get him for a 3rd rounder or less, and he's a solid cover man. Played Nickle corner his first year, but struggled with traditional safety and got benched. He could use some Pagano in his life.

  5. How many other RBs in the league made 6 million a year and had 4 TDs?

    He won't make 6 mil next year. He's 32.

He's going to be in the neighborhood of 1.5-2.5mil for this year. Yeah he had a 1000 yard season, but age is catching up to him.

I'd be ok with going Gore-Bradshaw-Herron as our 3 RBs with Gore taking over Richardson's duties in the same rotation that we had this year.

  6. Played in and being effective in are two different things. He only had 4 TDs this year. He had 1100 yards this season so that's less than 70 yards per game. Not what you call a running back that's earning his salary of over 6 million a year. Plus he will be 32 years old. Like I said, pass.

how many of our rbs had 70 yard games and rushed for 4 tds this year?

  7. That's not a bad idea, having a safety valve back deep just in case they get by our 10 man defensive line.

Well, it would be Vontae, so he could intercept anything they throw at us.

Think about it. Every play would either be a sack, tackle for loss or an interception.

  8. Let's switch to an 11-0 defense, it would be really hard for a QB to get a pass off with that kind of pressure and damn near impossible to run the ball.

Nah man, that new-fangled punt block defense.

10 rushing and one guy deep.

  9. Wow, thanks for those stats I had no idea what Fleener's were /sarcasm

I would replace Fleener by playing Allen more and /or a draft pick

My grading system is my eye balls.

Well, you must easily impressed considering your enthusiasm the TRich trade and the signing of Landry.

I like Fleener, you just like him more....not a big deal.

You may need to go get glasses.

I doubt that there were many people that weren't interested by the TRich trade and the signing of Landry when they happened.

You can look back at them now and say they were bad moves. Hindsight is 20/20 (See what I did there?)

Unfortunately, because Grigson hasn't won 3 consecutive Super Bowls and hit home runs on every player he signed- some people here just want to stand on the parapets and point fingers while cawing about how they would've done the job better.

  10. I don't like using a first on a RB, and Richardson has been worse than Landry, all told. I think there's waaaay more room for criticism of that move than for the Landry deal.

Either way, I don't have a problem with people pointing out moves that haven't worked out. But it does sort of chap my hide when people act like they were way out ahead of a move and the GM who made it is a blind fool.

That's neither here, nor there. The recent trend of not taking RBs in the first round has only existed for a couple of years. I'll never get mad at Grigson for making moves that make sense at the time. Yes, I get it- it was an expensive move and it didn't work, but at the time he made the trade- it made sense.

Wow, don't quit your day job lol

    What?

  11. I know the point you were trying to make, but I simply disagree. In fact, I'm not convinced Fleener and Allen belong in the "very good" category. I like Fleener, but IMO, he is easily replaceable.

    Really?

The only guys who scored more touchdowns than Allen and Fleener this year were Gronk, Julius, Graham and Antonio Gates. Not to mention that Fleener had a 15.1 YPC average over 51 catches! That's insanity at the TE position.

Easily replaceable by who? Who are you going to get that's going to replace Fleener? You definitely won't get one of the guys mentioned above.

What grading system are you using on these guys? Christ you must be difficult to please.

  12. You think teams go into the colts think how the hell are we going to stop Fleener and Allen? They do with Gronk. He is the linchpin to the Patriots offense. You can post all the stats you want, but no one in their right mind would take Fleener and Allen over Gronkowsi....no one.

As ballyhooed as Gronk is, he and his backup aren't much better than Fleener and Allen. That's the point I'm trying to make. Is Gronk a gamewrecker? Sure- but you take him out of the game and what do the Patriots have at TE?

The point I'm trying to make, is two very good players are better than one elite and one junk player.

  13. In fairness, that's why Grigson signed him. Pro Bowler in 2012, played a nice role in a defense similar to ours, etc. And I think it was a popular move.

I was just pointing out how easy it is to be a GM when you can judge moves in hindsight, and you're not accountable for your mistakes.

    This.

This is the same reason why I don't blame Grigson for the TRich trade. We needed a RB, and we were able to get a young guy who just came off a season with 10 TDs and 950 yards.

I was ecstatic when we picked up Landry. I thought he would do really well. Unfortunately that's not the case. He played awful this year- and it's time to move on from the mistakes.

Truth be told, I think Grigson has been fairly conservative for a guy who took over a team that went 2-12 and gutted the roster. I figured more trades and FA signings would have been in order.

  14. Wow, Gronk might be the ultimate mismatch in the nfl.....but u would rather have too pretty good players? I like both Fleener and Allen, but neither have proven to be anything special to this point.

Gronk is a fantastic tight end, but he and Wright are a far-cry from being the tandem NE had with Gronk and Hernandez a few years back.

    Here's some stats from 2014.

Gronk ranked #1 in TD's from a Tight end, tied with Julius Thomas and Antonio Gates at 12

Fleener and Allen tied at 5th with 8 each.

Timothy Wright was 7th in the league with 6 TDs.

    Receiving yards?

Gronk #1 among tight ends- just over 1100

    Fleener was 8th with 774

    Allen was 23rd with 395

    Wright was 31st with 259

    Catches?

Gronkowsi #4 with 82 on the year

    Fleener #16 with 51

    Allen #26 with 29

    Wright #29 with 26

I don't see what you're arguing? Having the best player at a position versus two very good players doesn't make much of a difference. Fleener and Allen had 30 less catches on the year than Gronk and Wright, and only had 2 less touchdowns. Not to mention, Gronk is the focal point of the Patriots offense- Fleener and Allen aren't the focus of the Colts offense.

I'll take Fleener and Allen any day of the week.

  15. COLTS should release ADAMS,MOALA,LANDRY,NIXON,ANDREW JACKSON,BALLARD,HAVILI,HERON,GORDY,BRUBAKER.

     RE-SIGN---BRADSHAW,SERGIO.,NICKS,REITZ,RJF,BUTLER,FREEMAN.

Uh... Havili hasn't been on the team at all this year.

Studebaker? He's one of our better special teamers.

  16. You are wrong in several ways.  I can take my legally owned gun anywhere in the country I want, try looking up the Firearms Owners Protection Act.  I may not be able to do anything with it once I get there and if I planning on moving there or staying there for an extended period of time (which is typical legal ease so each state can determine their own "extended period").  As long as it's stored in a not easily accessible location in a locked, hard sided case and the ammo stored separately.  Which is exactly what this guy did.

You are correct in the laws on transportation, but you are misinterpreting the law. The FOPA protects you while you are "passing through" not going somewhere as your destination. Travelling through New York State is fine, but making NY your destination is not, because the transport of a handgun is illegal in New York without the proper licenses.

So, while you may transport your handgun through New York, you will open yourself up to legal harassment by NY if you decide to stay there or it is your final destination, and the FOPA will not protect your 2nd Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. Same if you keep a firearm in your possession for more than 24 hours in NYC.

Either way, this discussion is neither here nor there- as I wasn't talking only about the transportation of firearms across state lines- I was also talking about staying there too, like a vacation.

For example, in the past (as the laws recently changed), if I were to visit Indiana and bring a few firearms with me to shoot while I'm on vacation- I couldn't bring my short barreled shotgun with me, because Indiana (until recently) had outlawed short barreled shotguns.

  17. A quick question:  If the gun was indeed registered to him and unloaded in a box, is that a crime?  I don't know the ins and outs of guns laws but I thought a conceal permit was not needed if the gun was being transported unloaded and not accessible.

I think it's funny how they are using the metric system to make 357 grams sound like a lot more weed than 12.6 ounces.

In Florida, it can be loaded and accessible- just not on your person without a permit.

I keep my Glock 22 in my glovebox, condition 3, magazine in- no round in chamber. It's completely legal for me to do so in Florida.

  18. That don't work. You don't have to give permission for the cops to search but they can keep you till a dog can be brought in. Then can continue to hold you till the search warrant is obtained.

They can hold you until a dog is brought in, as long as it happens in a reasonable amount of time (Florida law)

They cannot hold you until a search warrant is obtained, but they are allowed to search your vehicle without one if the dog "hits" on the car. (Florida law)

With the addition of the money and weed can or would they charge him with a felony for the hand gun? Sometimes with those conditions some prosecutor will go for the felony conviction with the combination of all three.

What felony charge? Owning a handgun is not a felony, nor is keeping it in his car in the State of Florida.

Is the felony charge for 400g of marajuana not enough?

  19. Doesn't the permit only allow him to carry in the state in which it was obtained?

    Google "reciprocity"

It depends, I'm not familiar with Florida laws, but I know I have a Kansas licence and I can carry in Missouri as well and Texas.

But it doesn't matter because he was not "carrying" it.  It was unloaded in a box, which as long as it's a registered gun then he can take it with him where ever he goes in the United States.  So the only way it could be illegal is if he had it on his person (body or clothing he's wearing) and if Florida does not have a reciprocity agreement with Minn.

Florida reciprocates with basically everyone, I think there are about 10-15 states that Florida does not recognize. Minnesota and Wisconsin are two of them. Short of Arizona, Florida has some of the most lax gun laws in the United States.

However, your second paragraph is about as wrong as it gets when it comes to firearms laws.

In Florida, (and the Federal Government) there is no firearms registry. There is only registration in states like California, Illinois and New York. None of my firearms are "registered"; and they never will be. In Florida, the law on carrying a firearm in your car without a concealed carry license says two things, 1) It cannot be on your person, and 2) it must be securely encased, (holster, zipper pouch, snapped lid etc.

And, no- you cannot just take a legal to own firearm from say, Florida and take it anywhere you want to go. You must abide by the local laws, not the laws where the firearm was purchased. In New York State, AR-15's in standard configuration are illegal. I can't take my AR-15 there or I risk a felony charge.

However, it looks to me like the firearm was "securely encased" because it was (and is in the photo) in a gun case.

    Having a gun (not illegal)

Storing gun legally in car (not illegal)

Carrying $200,000 in cash (not illegal)

Carrying 400 grams of marajuana (illegal)

    Cool stuff.
