I'm looking forward to Gore playing with an improved line, a healthy #12, and a full season with Chud at OC.
Gore was my favorite player last year and I think he's going to take out some frustrations on opposing defenses!

Imagine if we kept Elway.
We could have also drafted Marino or Jim Kelly. There were 8 future Hall-of-Famers in that first round of 1983 and 6 other future probowlers. We ended up with Chris Hinton in the trade to Denver

Seeing Peyton in the AFCCG made me realize how much I miss the old guard. I miss the 12-4 seasons and the realistic shot of being a Superbowl contender for almost 10 straight years. I miss the most beautiful mind in football, the chess matches, and Peyton on the sideline studying photos of the defense. I miss Peyton catching the defenses with too many players on the field, the chemistry he built with Wayne, Harrison, Stokely, Garcon, Collie, Clark.... the New England rivalry.... I'm missing it all. I miss Tony Dungy. I miss the brilliance of Bill Polian. I feel like a guy who has left his wife for a younger model and realized he had it all and lost it. Just raising a toast today to an era that captured the imagination of our city. Cheers

Carolina 38
Denver 9
Would love to see Manning pull it off though

You could build a better Probowl case for Hasselbeck

Powers
Or
Toler?
None of the above

I think, given the makeup of our team, we've got to address that O-line first and foremost. We have alot of money and talent tied up in it that still waste away without an offensive line. We've got to maximize what strengths we do have. This talent could unleashed hell if we could get proper blocking and protection. As we know, the offense is probably good enough to win 11 games consistently.
Our defense needs alot more influx of talent, it's going to take at least two more years of Grigson can hit on most draft picks and FAs. If the offense puts up big numbers, this defense will not be exposed as much

Why bring this memory back?

I think he's going to elevate his game and rise to the occasion. I'm feeling good about Moncrief ' s continued improvement and I suspect Dorsett will emerge as a bona-fide first round draft pick. So with TY and the rest of the crew, Luck definitely has weapons at his disposal.
I also feel that Luck had gained perspective and a realization that he's going to have to adjust his style of play. He's doing the team no good on the sidelines. He's got to stay healthy.
Moreover, i feel the team around him is going to be improved. I think this season has provided a jolt to the team and is going to force Colt's brass to finally address deficiencies on the offensive line.
Next year is going to be a huge glimpse into what we have in #12 and i think it's going to be a great thing. I honestly think we could be 2 years away from hoisting a Lombardi. With Manning and Brady getting older, there's going to be no time like the present

I'm just rooting for New England to lose. I take especially great delight when they have their hearts ripped out in the Superbowl. I really don't want to think about what it's going to mean if Brady wins number five.

At least an upgrade

Relax, FA hasn't even started yet. Anybody we're signing at this point will be project players.
Can anyone name a player signed in January that was a headline grabber?

Our DC was a competent LB coach. Between the two, I feel like we're in good hands in the LBing department

I'll take a guy with experience, sure. What a demotion though! From HC to line coach?!?

Being I don't have a dog in the fight it don't matter. But I will say that Oakland needs to build a stadium for their fans. The Raider fans have always been true and powerful for the Raiders no matter what the wins and losses were. The Black Hole is something that has a life of it's own and needs to be fed.
Wholeheartedly agree. The Black Hole is synonymous with NFL football. We need the Dawg pound, the Lambeau Leap, the Black Hole, et al...they add character and richness to the game we love.
Feel sorry for the fanbases losing their franchises too. The business side- greed over tradition- is always an unwelcomed side show.

SB nation has us taking Elliot.
I'd prefer we address the pass rush and offensive line on second thought.
We have alot of holes and Gore, along with some decent backs can get the job done. Address RB next season

Sure hope the NFL maintains what integrity they have left. I'm sure they not only want a team in LA, but a juggernaut would be good for their bottom line, and it would also ensure that the fanbase is properly loyal and maintained. They're never going to want to lose LA again!
I'll be watching for whacky trades that are one-sided, FA acquistions where star players leave small market teams, combine moved to LA(already happening), lop-sided, favorable penalty calling, top coaching hires....I'm just joking, sort of. ... but you know, I'm gonna watch just in case. I don't want to see East Coast vs West Coast, Rams versus Patriots in the Superbowl every year!
Yes, enjoy the tinfoil hats!

I hope Grigson goes after the line aggressively. If there's one area of critical need, it's here.
Of less importance and on a personal note , I want to see Grigson fix it just to prove he can do it.

Would rather have Pagano. Gruden sure is held in high esteem for having done so little.

The Texans are just happy to be in the playoffs. They also won the division. Memorable year forTexans fans.
Cincinnati though, should have been competing for the AFC. They always disappear on the biggest stages. They're a rubbish organization, I'll never put any stock in them.

^Donnie Avery filled the experimental role at WR better than DHB, Nicks, or AJ by a wide margin. Yet, he wasn't good enough for a re-up. What chance does AJ have?
As for Luck, I'm really optimistic he returns to probowl form next season. He's entering his prime now and this could be a pivotal year in his career. Does he take the next step? He's really going to have to alter his approach to the game to avoid injury. I hope the several weeks on the sideline has given him new perspective.

Anytime I feel down about the Colts, I always think, at least in not a Cincinnati fan

Take a flyer, We're good at WR

I would be happy to get a 11-5 record from the schedule.
We used to be bored with that achievement. I'm sure we would all take that record right about now
Do you think the Colts win a Super Bowl in the Luck era?

I think we win a Superbowl with Luck at the helm. He is an elite QB. The only thing that concerns me about him is his inability to get the ball off quickly and avoid getting hit so much. I know a great deal of that comes from the offensive line, but Luck has his own culpability in the matter. His skillset, football IQ, arm, legs all checkout. He's the complete package at NFL QB.
I think we are two years away from winning the Superbowl if Colt's brass make shrewd personnel decisions. We're set at the skilled positions for the most part, just need the big uglies now
