  1. Where do we go from here now that all of the children have grown up

And how do we spend our time knowin' nobody gives us a darn

Games people play, You take it or leave it

Things that they say, Just dont make it right

Sorry, could not help it, but the Alan Parson Project just kept popping in there and also just though it kind summed up how I feel about it too.

  2. What do you guys want? 10 straight years of winning the SB? Its real easy to look back now and point fingers. We were ALWAYS in cap problems. And now THAT is our problem? We had NFL record success and with a lot of it in the smallest stadium in the league!

Let me ask you this, would you rather play for a team the rewards the best players with the best contracts? Or play for a team that was more worried about how LITTLE they could spend on the cap?

  3. My concern is we may lose our identity. We were know for building thru the draft and keeping our own players and we did better that just about anybody with undrafted FA (they knew if they came here they had a chance to play). I can still hear Donald Sutherland with his team of "unwanteds". This GM/Coach seems more likley to want to build thru FA, just like Philly has been trying to do for 10 years.

  4. Andy246, thanks, I do agree that there are more important things in life, but this really hurts. Its like a giant hole inside of me without any closure. My 2 young boys keep asking me why this happend and I really dont have a good answer other than "its business".

I used to stand in front of the TV for the whole game, pacing back and forth and yelling and cheering and sometimes crying with tears of joy. For the first time in a long, long time I am not sure if I will ever have those feelings again.

I think mouthofsouth is probably the closest to the actual WHY, but it would really help if I heard it from Peyton.

  5. mouthofthesouth, thank you, very nice. The assumption that I have an issue with is the "several years away" statement. I have always felt like every year we had the chance to win the SB. Last year was the 1st time I didn't, when we will regain that feeling again? Or are we stuck never feeling that again? I agree with the "mutual" stuff and also Peyton being called "selfish", but WHY couldn't of he done this comeback in Indy? WHY someplace else? For the 1st time we were getting him a defense.

  6. I lot of 7 degrees...Brandon Marshall did the intro to Reggie in the NFLN's Best 100 NFL Players and called Reggie the "purest receiver in the NFL". Got to think he would like to work with him on the same field. Peyton owns a home in Miami. Peyton's hero growing up was Marino, wonder how much he sees himself in that reflection? Peyton won a SB in Miami.

And oh, throw a dash of Garcon on top on this soup and let Season.

  7. I need to know WHY? The press conference did not tell me WHY? Neither one of them ever really said WHY? WHY cant this work? If it was NOT about money than WHY? Salary Cap? You just said it was NOT about money. Rebuilding? Than why not keep Peyton for 1 year to just so the next QB can watch, then trade him and at least get something for the value? Its NOT about money right, then why worry about caps? If it business than WHY not at least get some stinking draft picks for him? Peyton's health? He says he wants to play. WHY was the contract not even part of the discussion or a factor in the discision? If it was the Salary Cap than WHY not just change the contract to lower the cap numbers in the future? WHY do I get the feeling this could have gone either way in that plane ride home? Will we ever know? Part of my identitiy as a person comes from what Peyton represents, that part of me needs to know WHY.

  8. I watched it live today while in the office, it felt kind of like a funeral in which you can not make any emotions due to all the people around. But now watching it again, the tears are still flowing as I try to type this. Wow.

  9. Zebra I agree with you, Irsay may have just made THE worst mistake of his life if Peyton is healthy. We seemed to have lost so much perspective, it was just 2 years ago in the SB with what 15 of the same starters as this year? Why go nuclear?
