I wonder if Rudy was his hero?
-
I was one of those that lobbyed not to get rid of PM because we had lost to much perspective. We were a team that ended last season with 18 of 22 of the same starters that we had just 2 years ago in the SB and that was with NOT having 18 as one of those 18.
This kid better be as good as advertised or 3 years from now we will wonder what PM could have done with weapons like he had never before.

That 6 minute video was impressive. That looked like a mash of DeSean Jackson and Devin Hester, made me giddy.

The CB became the RB, therefore there can be no helmet to helmet flag.
How in the heck did USC get that ball back?

At 87% retention you are lossing 13% of your customers (i.e. fans) each year. That means in 5 years you have lost over HALF of your current customers and are relying upon new clients (i.e. fans) to fill those seats. The stadium is around 63K in seats, 13% of that is about 8000, or in other words the current waiting list. Thus if the trend continues we are talking blackouts in 2 years. In 2008 we were at around $25,000 on the list (first year Lucas Oil). In 2010 that dropped to around $16,000. You simply have more leaving thru the back door than you can shovel in the front door.
I just feel like Irsay has to see the math and has bet the farm on this. I just hope he's right.

For the first time in over 10 years renewal rates for season tickets droped below 90% to 87%. Are Colts fans "soft"? Is it the Peyton factor? The 2 and 14? The economy?
-
I see it as 2 completely different seasons: regular and playoff. I believe once you get to the dance anything can happen and more opporunties you have the better things will come your way. We were only a handful of plays from 2 SB's or for that matter you can make the argument that if Nick Harper runs down the sideline (or did not get stabbed in the leg the day before) we would have had 3 SB's.

Peyton says he can do it, than that is all I need to hear. Broncos fans, you have got to be the luckiest sons of guns on the planet.
-
Is he expected to the play the nickle? Thats a lot of experience back there. You would expect them to want to play a fast pace, score as much as you can type of game and it will come down to stopping the other team when they HAVE to throw. Remember those days?

Just goes to show you by winning a SB how long you get a free pass, just imagine how big of an * Eli could be for the rest of his life now

MAC have you ever had your doc take the blood test to see your levels of Antibodies to cat dander?
-
I never saw the OP game, so I watched that tape without looking at the score. I would like to see him get his stance/feet placement a little tighter or more compact b/c the pockets aren't as big in the NFL, but from the throws I saw some really good descision making. To me watching that tape you had too many keys drops and missed blocking assigments to ever expect to win against the best.
-
Hey MAC, sure I see some rudeness, but I just take that as part of life. You cant please everybody and there will always be somone that does not like you just because of their perspective. I probaby have people that dont like me just because of my avatar.
I guess maybe its thicker skin, but I just assume that we are not all friends and people fight. I dont have a problem with that, its just words, nobody is sticking a gun to my head.

coltsfan1828, we had zero offense in 2011, let alone a 2 minute one.

I feel like I am watching the movie the Hunt For Red October wherein the sub caption was so focused on one end that he shot the torpedo that sunk his own ship.

If I ask a common person is the table in front of you flat they will say yes.
If I ask a forensic scientist is that table flat he will say no, under the microscope it has peaks and valleys.
If I ask a particle physicist is that table flat he will say it does not exist, its just a bunch of atoms all sharing the same space.
Why point to this is EVERYTHING is a matter of perspective. I just dont see all the rudness.

Do any of you see us ever going back to a no huddle offense like we had with Peyton? I'll be the first to admit, I know very little about Luck or any other prospects, because college football doesn't interest me. From what I have heard, he is incredibly football smart. It just makes me wonder lol.
I would love to see more of that up tempo, snaping with 15 on the clock, other team cant sub, well oiled machine. But that takes time, which I guess we are going have a lot of now.
-
I cant believe this is even still debateable? Can someone please pull some of those Irsay quotes after we knew he had the #1 Overall and post them? We can then all mosty agree on the validity of them.
I would still rather due business with someone on a handshake. How can you say one thing publicly but professionally act another? Why were the only answers we were ever given was something in the range of "salary cap" and "circumstances"? THAT is the best you got? Then to me those are some serious question marks.
Maybe he does hold a crystal ball that many of us cant see, if he does please enlighten me why we just got rid of our best chance to win?
-
JoKeR, yes I really believe what we are seeing is Irsay's vision, at least those are the words I first remember him saying after the season ended. I guess I just dont see it, I dont get giving up the NOW for the promise of the future?
-
Ohio Colt, I agree with you, I dont want to lose our identity either. I want to score as fast as we can and let our D Line pin their ears back.
-
Peyton structured his contract on a pay as you go basis, basically his cap hits are the same as his paragraph 5's.
This makes him the higest played player in 2012 even above Mario and Calvin (which was some insane numbers).
Is he still worth it? Irsary I hope you know what you are doing.
-
ruksak I agree with you,I just dont trust Irsay's "vision" of the next generation of Colts. I believe he gave up on the current vision before it was dead. The only question is will he pay for that?
-
I dont care if Luck is the son of the Greek God Zeus, he will get toyed with, fooled, out flanked, out played and out thought. I see like Eli Manning in that rookie game of his against Baltimore wherein when he would call out the "MIKE" Ray Lewis and Ed Reed would move all around and start saying back to him "I"M THE MIKE". Flat out messed with him. I dont see us being any more than average for a number of years.
-
If he really does get somewhere near a 5/95 deal I am going to be really upset. That means he IS ready to play and IS healthy!! Why didn't the Colts at least bring him back for 2 years? Why are the Colts trying to run an organization based on what happens 5 years from now? What about NEXT year? I get to watch a lot more lossing? Yepeeeeee!!!
Kurt Warner prefered his kids didnt play football

Why cant a parent say they dont want their kids to go thru the same pain they did? Why is it any different than a rookie saying he is going to buy his mom a house so she never has to go thru again what she went thru to get that child to where he is?
