MPJ only shows up for joint practices. He's always in the middle of it. I absolutely love it.

Thought he was harsh on Freeland on that int. Freeland checked the DE hit the blitzing db. Fries didn't even look. Dove to help Kelly with double team. Other than that I thought his analysis was dead on. He's real good.

I would play him as long as the Oline 1s are out there.

Now do we sign Minshew to an extension? Resign Sam to a smaller extension?
Or draft a late round QB next year?

This is exciting. Technically a junior in college. 2 years of college ball in the NFL.

People have been trying to move Smith to guard for years now. It’s not happening. Fries has made great strides at guard. He looked good yesterday without his starting right tackle next to him. Good for Freeland he’s showing some promise. But there is no reason to even consider this move now. I’m hoping Freeland develops adequately to be a good swing tackle. I think our new OL coach is off to a good start. Raiman and Fries are continuing to improve.
We'll see.

New 2nd half takeaways as I rewatch 2nd half.(missed 1st half of replay)
Rush pick 6, still was nice, and like was posted in game thread, Titus Leo positioning was the reason that play could happen.
Toliver, we've seen enough, time to swap out, got a nice group of guys there to compete for the 5-6 spots. No PS spot either
McGrone - he was lost out there, couple decent plays but didn't play very well in general
Dayo has became the player the Colts were hoping for. Should be a good year for him.
Ekiyor didn't look good in his first snaps(3rd qtr)
Ekiyor looking better to start the 4th, holding blocks and driving somes guys down field.
Taven Bryan was in backfield a few times.
Isaac-Stuart looked just as bad as Toliver, but he is still relatively new.
DL is deep, will be tough cuts, maybe can player for player trade before cut downs.
Even though 2nd and 3rd teams was nice to see the def get a couple turnovers and sacks.
Wesley got drove like 6yds in the backfield on 4th and 1.
Yep, Toliver can still go
Lol, still, again
Dayo still blowing up the backfield
Rush got beat on the corner route TD to Patmon.
Ekiyor really had a good 4th, he seemed to settle in nicely. We need him to give us something.
Huntley cut off of Ekiyor block for the TD
I liked the Colts Timeout strategy, call them early instead of letting the clock tick 40 more seconds. Didn't pan out, but was noted. This is Bills broadcast and they even just now mentioned it.
Pretty much it.
Hopefully we look at bringing in some OL depth, but tbh, they looked very serviceable in the 4th quarter.
Watched Titus Leo in that 2nd half and he was at every play on the opposite side of field. He's got a great motor. Couple of those across the middle on Rush I was trying to look back and see if he got rubbed. He's too fast to have that much separation against him.

Thought Freeland did decent. Literally reminds of Raimann part 2. Great at fast DE but questionable against bull rush.
Kelly besides Raimann he was the best with the 1s.
Raimann looked like a 1 playing with 2s.
Fries I didn't see the upside. He kept diving inside to double with Kelly and left Freeland to guard 2 at a time, twice.
I think we kick Smith inside now and let Freeland learn like Raimann.

Well, I'm one that is watching for Freeland to play better at RT than Pinter or Fries at RG. Then possibly slide Smith to RG and that could improve the oline. I expect it to take a while.
Can only hope, won't cross my fingers on 4th and inches with Smith/Kelly/Q on the inside.

Freeland looked good with the 1st team. Thought the linebacker position hurt us the most on defense, but not to concerned about that. Pinter got blown up twice. Fries was the weak link with the 1s.

Both lines early, and DBs and WRs late. Last seasons preseason MVP Sam.

The type of RB they are wasn't the point. The size of the contract and how it hurt the team is the point. Just because they are different backs doesn't change the fact of how long the lifespan of a RB typically is and how easy they are to replace.
My point is JT loses some speed he's still top tier. Better speed and vision than most.

RBs are plug and play; the difference between elite and good is not that significant...Zeke should be the poster child for why you don't give that kind of contract to RBs. Between the good RBs that are available on the street each year and the ease of getting replacements in the draft there is no reason to give a RB a big 2nd contract.
What Pittman should be paid is worth discussing, but not in the context of whether the difference should goto giving a RB a huge contract. If you don't want to pay Pittman the money can be spent on better things then overpaying a RB.
Sorry, I disagree. JT and Zeke are 2 different kinds of RBs.

Prioritizing RBs over WRs in the current NFL is definitely the way to go.
JT is rare, even if he looses some speed he'll still be a top tier RB. Pitt is great, but I'm going off training camp news that our WR are dominating. Also Pitt might cost 20 mil/year and JT maybe 15 mil/year. Also I'm betting on us getting Harrison Jr. No way Irsay let's him get drafted somewhere else.

This won't be popular but...
I would make Taylor contract extension a priority over Pittman. We have decent RBs now that hit singles, but Taylor has a chance to hit a homerun everytime he gets the hand off. Not saying don't sign Pitt. I also agree with Ballard that with all the unknowns this year we should wait till after the season to resign anyone.

Ty all for the updates.

Sam is 3rd, ok I can rest easy now.

At this point I would rather sign JT for 15 mil guarantee/ year than Pittman for 20 mil/year. The way the WRs been playing as long as we do what we can to get Harrison Jr.

I am so curious what they will do about the WR/TE positions. We have 5 TE who I wouldn’t be surprised if any of them made it. Honestly my least favorite is Mo because we have 2 clones of him who are more athletic and everyone says he can block but I saw him get shoved around plenty last year. Same with Granson I do like him and feel like he’s a decent TE but I saw so many whiffed blocks last year from him. Does anyone remember how many of WR/TE we had last year on cut down day?
Mallory in 2 practices has shown best hands. I got Woods, Ogletree and idk who would be the 4th. I think Cox might be odd man out or Granson but he's had some really good catches as well.
