  1. It is pretty sad, but I think Nobody has a point. That is unacceptable, and shouldn't be condoned in our society, but if Rice has been serious about seeking counseling and getting better, he should deserve a 2nd chance. There are players in this league and other major sports that are gang-bangers, murderers, etc. that get away with a lot of bad things. I am glad the NFL is starting to take a stance on domestic violence and other issues, but I think Rice deserves a 2nd chance if he is really learning from his mistake and making lifestyle changes.

For the record, when I think "run of the mill" I think positive weed test.

And I have no problem giving a person who is earnest about it a second chance. One does normally have to pay a penalty first and the fault lies with Goodell on this one. It was public knowledge that he'd struck her twice before dragging her out of the elevator. He shouldn't have needed a video to take it more seriously.

Anyway, we don't need Ray Rice. I know he was dealing with injuries but I don't think he was all that last year. Now if somebody was offering Darren Sproles...

  2. Meh, what he did really wasn't very bad honestly, compared to other players it's pretty run of the mill It's just that we saw it. He'll be back. But yeah not sure how good he'll be.

Punching his fiancée out is "run of the mill"?? I'm sorry. I know my opinion is worth a hill of beans but I just can't get behind that.

  3. Why on earth do people not want 18 games? We all cry like babies during the off season, yet the chance to give us more games is derided by some pseudo belief that it is unfair on the players. They earn enough. Play more real games and stop crying about it.

I'm more concerned about their health if the season went on longer. There aren't that many players in the NFL that are really good to great. It's pretty sucktastic when one of them falls to injury. By the end of the season I think a lot of them are held together by bubble gum and duct tape.

And re-reading that, it looks like a jumble of incoherent thought without a real purpose.

Oh, well. There's a point in there somewheres.

  4. The nickname will stick only if the media picks up on it. Otherwise, it'll only be something heard over on West 56th.

And I guess I'm a member of the minority who doesn't really care for "T.Y. Goodbye." I don't think it's any better than "The Ghost."

If we're all voting, I prefer just "T.Y."

Perhaps Gruden will come up with something groovy like he did for "The Sheriff."

  5. I don't understand this. Andrew Luck is one of the most liked and most praised players in the league. The NFL Network guys practically had a coronation ceremony for him the other night.

There might be some Luck hate coming from blowhards like Skip Bayless, and maybe some click-bait bloggers from the dark corners of the Internet. But the commentary on Luck is overwhelmingly positive.

    Even Willie McGinest?

  6. I understand we are making mistakes. We can improve. But it's the level of focus on these mistakes, which are probably more frequent than the good stuff we do that is getting tiresome. Every team, every player (even Peyton) makes mistakes. The expectations of mistake free football on here are getting ridiculous, and it makes it seem like people don't actually enjoy a win, or a great play, or a good bit of coaching, but would rather gripe about the not so good stuff.

Perspective and balance is in short supply at times. Enjoy what we do, just a little bit more.

I agree with you. It seems as though some fans have forgotten that these guys are all still human despite their enormous paychecks.

Unfortunately, negativity generates conversation and positivity gets you labelled a "homer," which is a bad thing for reasons that still escape me.

  7. He gets too many touches. And I dont get it. Bradshaw is so much better than him.

They're saving Bradshaw to a certain extent. He's been too injury-prone in the past to lay everything on him. Put him in the game too much and you're playing with fire.

  8.

Actually it makes perfect sense. Vader is testing water on the planet of Manaan to make sure there are not midichlorians naturally occurring in it. With Manaan being the galaxy's only source of kolto, if the Selkath were to gain the power of the force thy could take down the entire galactic empire on their own.

And that's our Star Wars lesson for today.

I thought that I was a Star Wars nerd.  I bow to the fullness of your geekitude, sir.

And regarding the rest of this thread...
