I firmly agree with that. The Colts aren’t just having an injury here or there they are getting decimated at positions, three of their top four WRs out, their whole starting secondary has been banged up this season, they basically played their third string QB Sunday when you remember Luck was the plan this off-season.
People don’t like to say injuries are an excuse because you can’t control them but at some point you lose too much talent and that does impact the play on the field like it or not.
I also think this team is young and still building which is why Ballard isn’t cashing all his chips on a aging vet to be a quick fix for the rest of the season.
pretty much this....injuries to top talent and youth...the recipe for inconsistency.

The playcalling wasn't so much as the qb making horrible decisions and not taking what the d gave them.

Too bad Hoyer had Ebeon tunnel vision because Pascal was wide open in the flat and had a much better chance of getting the first or even more.

I personally think the game will be kinda close for a while with the Colts eventually making enough plays to comfortable pull away in the 4th.

you mean Q is human and occasionally makes mistakes? He's still young and and the defenders he's gone up against are good too.
Also, even the best have off days...remember Johnathan Ogden? Hall of Famer, but Freeney abused him regularly. It happens.

The O, for the most part did well and had the team in position to win. Same with the defense.
Special Teams, stupid penalties, turnovers did them in. Just seemed like, any freak thing that could happen did happen.
-
the receiver position could be pretty deep once Funchess comes back and gets acclimated.
The last quarter of the season is where I can really see them coming together (barring no other injuries etc)

it's kinda funny...Ballard has literally been the most transparent GM in recent memory as to what his plan is. He has said on multiple occasions that they want sustained long term success. You don't get that by just throwing away draft picks at players that might only help you for a year or so. Unless you're a team like the Patriots that are trying to win now because their window is almost shut. The Colts window is just now opening.

Hmmm state of franchise.
Year 2 of complete team overhaul ( I know it's technically year 3, but I'm not counting the last Pagano year)
2nd year head coach and 2 2nd year coordinators
Many 1st and 2nd year players getting major playing time/starting
Back-up QB in only 2nd year of really starting
Injuries to many important players on roster and they've missed multiple games/out for the year/or retired abruptly.
HOF kicker having worst year of career
Division probably toughest in league record wise through first half of season
Still 5-3 and in drivers seat for division if they can beat Houston again in a few weeks. And at worst, in play for a wild card.
I'd say they're doing pretty well overall....not elite Super Bowl contender yet, but they're getting close.

the running game has been very good this year....but sometimes I wish they'd do a bootleg or roll out on those 3rd and 1's every now and then. Teams are more than stacking the box and these are prime times to pull out those plays...keep them honest.

They always somehow get a cream puff schedule which causes the Ravens and Colts to report to NE later in the seasonWhere NE is allowed to get away with murder.

A Baltimore win would take the sting out of the Colts loss.

A lot of freak things happend that don't normally happen. It was one of those games. Learn from it and move on.... plenty of season left.

Whenever I hear "it could be worse, I think of Devito as The Penguin in batman returns.....
To be honest I tend to think of Michelle Pfeiffer when discussing Batman Returns.

After cooling off and looking back, I feel this game will help the team going forward. They needed to lose a game like this. They've walked on the edge plenty this year but we're able to get away with it. Especially with the tendency to play down to their competition.
Does it suck to lose? Especially when you pretty much gave the game away..... absolutely it does. But it's still a very young team overall.
I see this making them better the second half of the season. We'll just have to see how they respond next week.

wonder his source....and yep, I'd take him or Geno.

I've always liked Derek Wolfe, but the fact that Jason LaCanfora is "reporting" a connection probably means one doesn't exist.
yep, he's wrong more than weathermen on tv

My grudge also still burns with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns
Oh if there was only replay for Kordel Stewart stepping out of the back of the end zone then catching the td. And if Quentin Coryatt could've hung on to the game sealing int.

Anyone watching this game lol.
Yep....kinda hope Pitt doesn't lose because that means they'll be embarrassed and will go all out against the Colts.....like How Denver was yesterday...a week after getting blown out by KC.

Thanks, though it is La Confora, so you'd have to take that with a mountain of salt. But I'd take Wolfe for sure.
Wow we just lost to the dolphins......(merge)

Could be worse.....could've been the Saints getting blown out at home against a team with the same record as Miami...while having your hof qb back.
