Pass rusher need to be our first priority and this draft should have some quality ones available when we draft.
-
Overall I like this draft the most since 2012. I would have preferred Bell over Green as being more pro ready but Green does offer a lot of upside, especially with Pagano as a coach. I would have taken Jordan Howard in 4the instead of Morrison and Scooby Wright in the 7th.
-
Teddy Bridgewater also put up those stats with one of the worst supporting set of receiving weapons in the NFL. Diggs has a year under his belt and now they have Treadwell. I wish we would have picked Howard or Scooby Wright in the 4th and Von Bell in the 2nd. Other than that, at least we got what 2 guys to come in and help protect Luck right away.
-
I would have rather had Von Bell. An elite cover safety who can play deep or line up and cover the slot. I guess with a good DB coach like Pagano and his physical tools, hopefully he can develop into a playmaker. I do like his age. He just turned 21.
-
I'd take Wright III over Johnson in the 3rd of he's still there.
-
I'm sure someone will take a flyer on him in the later rounds. I don't feel like he fits our scheme very well. He's strictly a 4-3 DE. I don't think he has the athleticism needed for 3-4 OLB ie Werner. As an Iowa fan, best of luck to him.

Forgot about Kamalei Correa. He wouldn't be a bad 2nd round choice.

If you look at some mocks around the internet, you'll see that since Denver lost Osweiler, the popular pick for the Broncos to end the first round is....... Connor Cook.
I've also seen Paxton Lynch a lot here too. I'd prefer Lynch. Mobile for size, bigger, stronger arm, higher ceiling.

We really need a good draft this year. I'd love to see 3 starters from this draft. We need at least 2 and a couple of others who can contribute right away in some way.
Guys who I'd love but won't fall to us:
Jaylon Smith
Myles Jack
Deforest Buckner
1st round options I'd be fine with:
Jack Conklin
Taylor Decker
Eli Apple
Noah Spence
Reggie Ragland
2nd/3rd round picks:
Vadal Alexander
Joshua Garnett
Von Bell
Nick Martin
Cody Whitehair
Ryan Kelly
Scooby Wright
Later picks:
Jordan Howard
Jeff Driskell
Nate Sudfeld
As far as my first rounders go, we need a starter. If our staff believes Spence has put his problems in the past, then we should take him. We need a pass rusher. I have no problem with a tackle either because we could slide Mewhort back inside. If we landed Conklin or Decker and Alexander, Garnett or Martin, I'd be content with those being our 2 first picks. Solidify the OL
I do kind of want Bell pretty badly. Pagans has shown he can be good with DBs and Bell could be our ball hawk in center field. While he would need to improve his tackling and be more aggressive and willing in the run game, I'd love this pick. I would also take Scooby Wright in the 3rd in a heartbeat. He reminds me so much of Chris Borland who had a great rookie year. On the short side but very strong, around 240 at 5'11", with a great motor and great instincts.
We we also need more in our run game. If Howard is there in the 4th or later, I could live with that. I also put Driskell, Brissett, or Sudfeld because we need a backup QB. Tolzien was a cheap guy with experience, but I don't want to see him in. If Luck does go down again, I'd like to see a QB who can still run our offense and get the ball downfield. Driskell, Brissett, or Sudfeld can make throws dowfield and would have time to learn behind Luck. Our offense was pretty limited that way last year when Hasselback was in.
Here is my ideal draft for the 1st six rounds:
1. Conklin/Decker
2. Kelly/Martin/Garnett/Alexander/Whitehair
3. Bell
4. Wright III
5. Howard
6. Sudfeld/Brissett/Driskel
-
Wright reminds me of Borland. Not a great athlete and a little short....but stout. Great motor and great instincts. Borland was a stud as a rookie.
-
He's the last person who should be talking about effort.
-
I'd also love to see Scooby Wright III with our need for another ILB and Jacoby Brissett as a late round option at QB.

Anyways, just a few thoughts.

Yup. 23:1 with only 1 real redzone threat in Allen.
Fleener, Johnson, Moncrief

There are a couple Stanford OL floating on PS Fleming and Yankey maybe we can rebuild the trenches with Cardinals on both sides.
I wanted Yankey the year he came out.
-
Can we trade him for draft picks?
-
Flacco
Stafford
Rodgers
Cam
Ben
Romo
Kaepernick
Wilson
Cutler
Brady
And Im not sure he has a stronger arm than
Carr
Mariota
Eli
Or Griffin
You're joking about Romo....right?
-
If its based on arm strength, Luck would probably be in the 20s. So whatvare they basing this on. Turnovers?
Lol. I think he'd be right around 8-10 ranking all 32 current NFL starters.
-
While I wish it would have been 60 million or less, it needed to get done.

In no particular order:
Ballard (injuries)
Thomas (injuries)
Cherilus (injuries/consistency)
Allen (injury/durability)
Johnson (age/what can he do with an elite QB)
Gore (age/what can he do without an elite o-line)
Mathis (age/injury)
Werner ((consistency/worth a 1st round pick)
Jones (injury/worth his contract)
Hilton....something a little different. He says he wants Thomas/Bryant money. Can he dominate games on a regular basis and show up in big games?

David Parry as an F is absolutely fair. I predicted he won't make the 53, and I'm sticking to it. When we were in the chat for the draft, I was begging for us to trade up for Michael Bennett, a 2nd round defensive tackle talent that fell for what I can confidently say now, no real reason except he got lost in the shuffle. When we traded up and our pick came in, for 3 seconds the screen said DT and I thought we got Bennett. Instead we take a guy named David Parry for no other reason except he had a Stanford defensive connection with our 3rd round pick Henry Anderson. Absolute deserved F.
Considering we could have taken La'el Collins with that pick, I'd say F isn't totally unfair.
-
Cleveland has plenty of talent. Luckily they didn't have a QB annd Gordon to take some pressure off. Even with Mack out, that OL is still pretty good.
-
hmmph.... im honestly not impressed. I bet 98% of WRs in the league could do that. Watts was impressive because he stood flat footed without taking any steps and exploded. I love the guy, but Moncrief took a running start.
Let's see your video with a running start.

With Mewhort gone our OLINE looks like it will once again struggle. What do we have have to lose to offer these 2 veterans incentive laden contracts?
