nevermind I was just guessing but after looking, it seems he is looking for $6mil a year
5 years at 30 million would be 6 million a year.
Maybe just a longer contract?

I'd be fine with giving a 5 year, 25-30 million to Vasquez at G. Would be a big help in the run game of Pep Hamilton's new offense and an upgrade over McGlynn. While he is a better pass blocker than run blocker, he is much better than we have on the roster and would still be an upgrade.

Yeah, I think we might also get a shot at Luke Joeckel late in the 7th, he only had 27 reps on the bench, could really hurt his draft stock.
I laughed when I saw that. Dion Jordan solidified himself as a top 15 if not top 10 pick at the combine. 6'6" and 250 lbs. He is going to be a nightmare for offenses in the NFL in the mold of Aldon Smith. I would be psyched if Jordan fell to 24th.
As for cornerbacks, I'd be fine with Rhodes or Trufant in the first round. If we were looking for a future starter in the middle rounds Tharold Simon out of LSU and Banks' teammate Darius Slay would both be good options. Both have good size and speed and would be capable in our 3-4 man coverage D. I'm just not sold on Banks yet. Not only was his 40 time underwhelming but at 6'2" 185 lbs, that seems like a very slight build and while he has nice height, I'd be worried about him being pushed around by heavier receivers.

One guy I hope we look at long and hard is Da'Rick Rogers. He was one of the top WR recruits in the country in 2010. He went to Tennessee and played sparingly as a freshman. He then had a breakout sophomore year and was the leading returning receiver in the SEC for 2012. He was then dismissed from the team prior to the season because of marijuana use. I know this will be a red flag but if he has shown he has given up drugs to focus fully on football I wouldn't have a problem drafting him in the 3rd round or later. Most of his problems seem to be maturity related but with our staff and veteran players, I think they could easily be fixed. He has a good combination of size, speed and athleticism to play on the outside and give us a bigger receiver that we lack. I think he could definitely be one of the mid round steals of the draft if he has truly decided to stay out of trouble.

i like Dion Jordan, he looks comfortable on space and its used to play standing up and can drop and not look completely lost...he didnt have a "glamorous" game vs standford on the video that gavin showedbut i still like to get him ...where is he projected to go?
How many off these DE/OLB look great dropping back into coverage right out of college? The more I read about him the more I wound't mind us drafting him if our front office believes he can be our franchise pass rusher. I'd be wary about his height and how that affects his agility, but if he can play then why not take him?

I've been looking at a lot of mock drafts and compiled some names that different people have been predicting the Colts might take with their first round pick.
Out of the below mentioned players, who do you feel the Colts have the best chance at picking up, and who do you want with the 24th pick?
Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi St
Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Johnathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
Jonathan Cooper, G/C, North Carolina
Also put my favorites from the list in Bold. I'm not so sure Ansah will be able to play 3-4 OLB. I think his best fit is a 4-3 DE. Cooper is a smaller zone blocking guard ans we are moving towards a bigger, stronger man blocking scheme, Short is probably best served as a 4-3 DT and I am not high on drafting a NT unless it's Williams who has experience playing DE in a 3-4. I don;t like how light Banks is for being 6'2". Might get pushed around by bigger, more physical receivers.

Not a bad roster. I'd be psyched if Lemonier fell to the 3rd round but I'm thinking he will probably be gone by our pick in the 3rd. I forgot about Trufant. He has good size and athleticism for a man corner in our new defense. He really turned a lot of heads at the Senior Bowl.

The only NT in this year's draft I wouldn't mind seeing get drafted by the Colts in the 1st round would be Jesse Williams out of Bama. Only because he has experience playing DE in a 3-4 as well as NT. We still don't know what we have with Chapman and McKinney and I think they should at least be a capable rotation when both healthy.
Defensive players I'd like to see us take in the 1st round if they are available:
Shariff Floyd
Sheldon Richardson
Xavier Rhoades
Barkevious Mingo
Kenny Vaccaro
Offensive:
Lane Johnson
A top rated OG if not too much of a reach.
Another option would be to trade down for multiple picks, 2nd and 3rd rounder.
I would also like to see us get Justin Hunter in the 2nd round or later if available/possible. We need a guy who can come in and play on the outside as a number 2 WR that could eventually be a #1. He still needs to work on being more consistent with his hands and put on a little more weight but this guys has skills. 6'4", long arms, big hands and a great vertical. He isn't a total burner but has good speed that will complement his size to play on the outside. We have smaller speed/possession receivers and could use a taller guy as a redzone threat and to complement what we have now. I definitely think this draft needs to focus on defense but if we could get him without using our 1st round pick I think he will be a steal.
I listed Vaccaro because I think he is that good. He has shown he can cover in the slot and come up and be stout against the run. The Vikings drafted Harrison Smith last year and he was definitely worth it. If we can have a draft even close to as good as last year's we should be in pretty good shape. I absolutely love what Grigson has been doing so far. I think he was the 2nd best off-season acquisition last year behind a certain QB we happened to draft.

We were anxious to get rid of Tim Jennings. Last seen in Hawaii.
Sometimes a player just need a change of scenery and the right system.
We never had a front 7 as good as the Bears had this year. Especially when they were all healthy. A great pass rush and very good linebackers can make a secondary look great. I can't name the DB's from when the Giants beat the Patriots the first time but everyone knew they had some great pass rushers that helped make up for a lack of great corners. He's a good ball player but that front 7 made him look like an All-Pro corner. I'd also take Tillman over Jennings any day of the week.

We need him running those routes downfield and crossing routes. Routes to get him isolated one on one with a LB or S. None of those quick outs in the flat for a 2-3 yard game. He fast running downfield, but like just about everyone else on this planet his size, he doesn't have a lot of wiggle in the open field.
