I blame the refs.
You are the type who blames the refs if your favorite team loses, but see nothing wrong when they win.
The fact, yes fact, remains that the officiating across the board this year in just about every game has been bad. It's been inconsistent and the refs have been extremely indecisive. It's not only inconsistent in a particular game, it's dramatically inconsistent from crew to crew. Teams now need to prepare by game planning for which crew is working their game. If you can't see that, you are simply a homer who is happy as long as your home team wins.
The officiating this season will be a huge issue during the off season. The officiating today in the colts/ chiefs game was horrible as it had been all season long in almost every game. It's not bad because the refs have a bias. It's bad because they can't make tough calls any more because of instant replay, so they get tunnel vision on judgement calls involving penalties.
Pretty much every game this season has been impacted greatly by very odd and controversial calls or inexplicable non calls. If I did my job as poorly as them, I would have a very short career.

they just beat the Seahawks and your favorite qb in Seattle..
It happens. They still are tied for the best record in the NFL. I don't get wrapped around the axel over one loss.
-
Meh...
Even the Cowboys could beat the Seahawks if Romo has one of those days...
Any team can beat any team if both are having " one of those days".
-
They just beat Seattle in Seattle. Beating SF isnt as far fetched as that. I mean cmon.
Remarkable games back to back will be pretty tough. Seattle hadn't lost at home since November of 2011. Common sense tells you they would lose at some point.
-
As Andy already mentioned, Cards win and their in. If that happens, then if the Saints lose they are out. Thats not really that far fetched.
That Cards beating SF is far fetched.
-
Lol. That's why we won. The refs.
Hey did that "Reggie Wayne uses stickum" thing ever work out for the Seahawks by the way?
Did I say that? No. In fact I said the Colts played a better game. Don't be a dink.
I just noted, and rightfully so, that the game was officiated in a fairly one sided manner and that's pretty much been the case league wide this season. No one could dispute the inconsistency and general poor quality of officiating this year. It's undeniable. And it's not going to get better until officiating is their only job and their career depends on how consistent and accurate they are.

I can see there's no reasoning with you.

So I was right. No comment on the points I made?
-
Nope. I bet it's Seattle tho. Which reaffirms my belief you haven't watched much football.
So, you have nothing to respond with other than useless tripe?
-
I will take the credit since I started the thread about how good a season AZ was having and would probably miss the playoffs....lol. That may still happen, but I (and nobody else realistically) never saw them winning at SEA! I hope they do pull it off and send the Saints home too.
I don't think they can. They need too many epic upsets for that to happen.

What team are you a fan of? Not related. Just interested.
Doesn't matter. It's not KC.

The officiating this year, from game to game, has been the worst I have ever seen. In the past the games were called fairly consistently. Not so any more. I believe now, the officials get something in their head about one team or player and that's what they concentrate on.
I saw an official today reaching for his flag while the QB was calling the signals. Once the ball was snapped, he threw his flag. The call was offensive holding. Now, obviously he was looking to make that call seeing that he made motions to throw the flag before the ball was snapped. If it was illegal formation, that would be understandable, but it was a call that couldn't be identified until the play was run.

You must not have watched much football.
I have and I watched that game. That was a horribly inconsistent job by that officiating crew. Completely one sided. It was inexplicable. I'll bet that crew will be downgraded for that . Still, the Colts played a better game. I just wish the officials would be consistent.

Seattle really isn't that good. Kind of a limited offense and their defense really isn't all that on the road.
Their defense is fantastic no matter where they play. They had a poor game on offense because the Arizona front seven dominated Seattle's O line. Seattle's O line is their weakness.

I saw this coming!
Like you are the only person on this planet who thought that they would lose a home game at some point?
-
I can't stand these refs!!!! Bring back the replacements!!!!!
Today's game was possibly the most one sided officiated game I've ever seen. I'm a completely objective viewer and several of the call, and non calls, left me scratching my head. It was a horribly inconsistent job today by the officiating crew.
-
Today, the Colts played well and the Chiefs struggled. That being said, that was one of the most one sided officiating jobs I've ever seen. I can't recall a more lopsided game than that.
-
bengals - remember them making it in the late 80's only to get slaughtered by the 9'ers
Wasn't that real close game with Montana leading a game winning drive in the final two minutes? Maybe I'm thinking of a different game?
-
The colts played well today. That being said, this was the most one sided example of officiating I've ever seen.

It looks like the 49ers fans are upset about the beatings the 49ers sustained at the hands of the Seahawks the last couple of times they visited Seattle.
Seattle just brutalizes the 49ers in Seattle while the 49ers squeak by on a last second field goal at home against the Seahawks.

They need to interview Lovie Smith before they can hire the coach they really want. Smith will end up interviewing for several jobs. This would make no sense if they did it. McNair wants offensive innovation and the development of a new QB. Lovie brings neither of these things while also setting the defense back. The only way Smith gets the job is if they decide to go full rebuild mode, which McNair already said shouldnt be necessary.
I just dont see the fit. Am I missing something?

He says he'd still take RG3 over Andrew (and Russell W.).
Believe me, he says it frequently.
And he's entitled to his opinion. There's no doubt when healthy, RGIII is an extremely talented and effective QB.
I think Bayless is a jerk, but not because we disagree on who's the better QB.
-
He is a clown. Just says outrageous things to cause "controversies".
He's the media version of an Internet troll.
-
I'll take that trade to the Colts any day. He'd be a beast with Luck and have no reason to walk off.
Bryant would have problems anywhere went. He's not going to change who he is.
We just got robbed!

I'm talking about the guys on the field officiating every play. They need to have off season training sessions. They need to look at all the games they officiated and have their performance critiqued. And the NFL needs to develop a system which ensures officials are all on the same page and all crews officiate games according to a singular standard.
I don't know how anyone can take the officials seriously any more. They are becoming a joke. But the NFL is more worried about whether or not a player has his jersey tucked in or his socks pulled up. Something which impacts games is of no concern
