1. OLB- A pass rush is absolutely vital in today's NFL, and besides an all star qb, has been the only trend among recent Superbowl winning teams. Mathis is gonna be gone soon and never transitioned amazingly well to the 3-4, and Erik Walden, as we all know, hasn't proven much yet.
2. G- I'd really love to not have any guard from last year starting again for us this year. Especially now that we might be moving a more pro type offense, and needs tougher lineman than our old down the field scheme.
3. DE- With all the talk about needing to replace Mathis for getting old, let us not forget that Cory Redding's the same age, although it may not seem like it sense he just got here. We are Building the Monster, and a headstrong Defensive Line should lead the way.
4. CB- We've finally got two corners who fit our new Defensive scheme and let go of one who wasn't a good one for our style, and was also injury prone. So we've replaced him with one who does fit our scheme, but is also injury prone. I think we'd all much rather have Butler stay at the nickel rather get called up to man the outside, so I think coveting a big, press type corner is important as well.
5. WR- Reggie Wayne found the fountain of youth last season, but in football, it doesn't last forever. Our viable options for a replacement are: the up in the air DHB, TY Hilton, obviously more of a slot reciever, and maybe even throw in Lavonn Brazil, who is also more suited for the slot. We need more receivers with better hands and route running rather than speed and taking the top off a defense.
6. RB- Vick Ballard was certainly a pleasant surprise in the last draft, but in today's NFL, two-back systems are not only popular, but somewhat required. We could use a faster back, but also has the power to punch through defenders.
7. S- We've just signed the hard-hitting body-ripping Laron Landry to our defense to blow up plays trying to extend themselves, and even though he's not overly amazing in coverage, he's a strong safety, built to hit, and he'll be asked to do what he does best- lay the wood. As for the free, Antoine Bethea, he's only 28, and even though he hasn't played up to his former Pro Bowl Status for the past two seasons, he's a better option than what most teams can boast around the league, and still has some fire left in the tank.
Also for my picks for the players:
OLB- Jarvis Jones (if he falls), Tank Carradine, Trevardo Williams, Chase Thomas.
G- Larry Warfard, Travis Frederick, Brian Winters.
DE- Datone Jones, Kawaan Short, Sylvester Williams.
CB- Jamar Taylor, Darius Slay, Blidi Breh-Wilson
WR- Robert Woods, Cobi Hamilton, Aaron Dobson
RB- Marcus Lattimore, Giovanni Bernard, Stepfan Taylor
S- Bacarri Rambo, Duke Williams, Josh Evans.

I'd like to see us go more defense oriented, and I'm still pretty skeptical about Tyrann Matheiu.
-
If we could just grab one guard and gear the rest towards defense, I'd be fine with that.
-
I like Barret Jones but it isn't worth passing up one of the top pass rushers in the 1st round. Were still transitioning to the 3-4 still need players that fit the system. This is who i think we should draft.
1.Jarvis Jones or Datone Jones - One of these guys should be on the board when we pick at 24 but won't if we trade back
3.Brian Winters G - Not far behind Warford would be great value here
4.Duke Williams S - Agree with you on this
6.Luke Marquardt OT - Depth behind Castonzo and Cherilus
.7.Rod Sweeting Cb
I like this one more, it's definitely geared towards defense (which I like), get good value in the first, and still address the guard position in the second round. Very nice.
-
I'd be fine with grabbing a good O-lineman with the first pick, but in my opinion, this mock is too much for offense. I'd rather see us grab Datone Jones or Arthur Brown if either are available our new 2nd round pick, and still take Barret Jones in the 3rd.

BUSTS
MINGO
PATTERSON
ANSAH
PRO BOWLERS
LOTULELEI
WARMACK
JONES
-
Star Lotulelei. He's probably the most mature guy coming out of college I've ever seen and is a natural born leader
-
I'd transitional tag Bethea, sign Davis and mcafee to long term deals, then if DHB, anger, or Connor show up big, then sign em.
-
I really don't want to get this guy. He should only play 4-3 DE, and is well rounded, but can't use just one skill to get to the qb
-
Yup, very good mock. Just not sure if Jarvis Jones will drop to 24.
-
I thought Brady Quinn was gonna be the Brown's answer at qb, and a quarterback of the future
-
Damontre Moore is a great player, no doubt about it. I just hope he's not on marijuana anymore, which I doubt he still is. Also, I've been liking the idea more and more of drafting Datone Jones, I think he can learn with Redding and RJF and take over after Redding leaves. It's intriguing having an interior pass rush and not just relying on our guys from the outside.
-
How do these other people get into like the 160,000s?
Yeah, I have no idea
-
Oh Lawdy, I just started my 3rd draft, and at 24 I have Star Lotulelei, Johnathon Cooper, Sheldon Richardson, and Alec Ogletree!
-
Looks very good to me, I'd be pretty happy if this really happened. And I know this really doesn't matter, but we have a comp 7th round pick.
-
My top three would be Davis, Bethea, Franklin- in order. And I think in the draft we'll focus on defense, being in part that are most significant players whose contracts will expire are on defense.

Even though I like the mock and would be very happy if this really did happen, I would rather spend our second on any number of pass rushing OLB's, and I also believe it might be too good to be true.
-
I hope we can get a Defensive stud like Damontre Moore or Bjoern Werner (I know, he fits a lot better in a 4-3 but we'd find a position for him)
I mention these guys cuz they've both been falling since a bad combine, a dumb reason for teams to drop a player.

Linebacker. Let's build our 3-4 defense.
-
I really like Brown, although it seems most people here don't and are still stuck in the Polian Era of always drafting a WR in round 1 or something for offense. We don't really have a typical 3-4 ILB, although the combo of Angerer/Connor is serviceable, but not terrifying like a 3-4 D should be.
-
BPA for us, Chance Warmack. BPA for us that I would take, Star Lotulelei
RB - S - CB - DE - WR - RB - OLB?

I'm also more in favor than most people to draft an inside linebacker. We have no true 3-4 ILB's, granted we have Freeman who racked up the tackles, but those were more chase down-drag down rather than prototype read, react, and lay the beat down. I wouldn't even mind using our first round pick on one.
I think our options would be Arthur Brown and Kevin Reddick.
