On 10/22 the Inside The NFL show on Showtime discussed the Colts chances of going to the SB this year and their status for their future. The members Phil Simms, Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin and Brandon Marshall all agreed the Colts are playing well enough to make it to the SNB this year. They also stated the Colts are building what appears to be a very strong position in the bid for it all in the future years. They mentioned what has come to pass in recent years with Ballard on board like the Josh McDaniels fiasco, Luck's sudden retirement and the hiring of Reich as HC. So their conclusion was Ballard is doing a masterful job and their future is solid.

With the Pats & Hoody it has been proven over and over and over players brought on board the Patriots ship go from average to champions. It's all done with mirrors.

I wonder if Aaron Rogers found one of those little notes on his locker yesterday..........
Needles can't penetrate Rodger's skin so he is exempt.

Bottomline: College ball is not NFL ball.

Sanu is the happiest player in the NFL going from a nag to a Triple Crown winner.

They're certainly a talented and well-coached group, but look at their schedule:
Pittsburgh (2-4)
Miami (0-6)
NYJ (1-5)
Buffalo (5-1)
NYG (2-5)
Washington (1-6)
NYJ (1-5)
Their opponents have a combined record of 9-32, which is horrendous, and only 1 team above .500. Part of it is them playing in what has been the worst division in football for several years now.
Their next stretch of games could be tough. Cleveland has talent (although they don't maximize it by any means), Baltimore tends to give them a hard time every matchup, Philly is hot and cold, so maybe they'll be hot when they play the Pats. Then you have Dallas, another hot and cold team, Houston, and Kansas City.
Seems to me NE is the unanimous choice to go to the SB this year because they are believed to be the best in the AFC regardless of schedule. Maybe by the end of the regulars season the Colts can give them a run for the money in the playoffs and many are saying that is real possible.

The Colts are to the Texans what the Pats used to be to the Manning Colts. Texan fans hate the Colts with a passion. I never wear any of my Colts shirts when they play here in Houston.

O'Brien is in his last year if the Texans don't make the playoffs.

The ways the Jets play how can anyone tell who is injured and who I not? 33-0. New York fans were throwing beer and food on three Astros fans at the end of game 5. You would think NY fans would be accustomed to stinking.

No team has been good versus the Pats for a long, long, long time. Don't blame the Pats for their unmatched success. Envy is a killer.

Great opening line in the Houston Chronicle the morning after. It reads as follows,"The Colts are on top of the AFC South during the same season that Andrew Luck shocked the NFL by retiring."
Watching the sports channels most of the day after Sunday's win it appears unanimous #7 is going places. I did not hear one doubter all day.

Hopkins 106 yds. and Sills 103; no Malik Hooker and no Kenny Moore II

The irony is the Colts we have today were built for Luck. He bows out and everyone says the Colts can be good enough with the talent they have despite Brissett. Then Brissett hits the playing field and Colts fans could not be happier. Now Reich will build this team round him and he will get better as he progresses and already the Colts are mentioned as possible SB participants for this season. The future is bright.

The NFL Network said today Brissett and Cam Newton were once backups to Tim Tebow! I searched a little to verify but I assume it's true.

That home game against Carolina will not be easy.
Stopping McCaffery has not been easy for any team.

Colts dominated KC, one of the top teams in the AFC.
KC mounted a huge number of penalties as if they were trying to beat themselves. They played very poorly.

The Colts are not going to blow anyone out but according to ESPN they have the second easiest schedule behind Buffalo. We all know "on any given day" so one game at a time.

Just thinking about how the Colts are paying him now and will pay Brissett him in the future if all goes well this year. I found the info I was looking for. He gets $14,032,500 this year and $16,000,000 in 2020.

After todays' win the record for the Colts vs. Houston is 27 wins and 8 losses.

The Colts kept Mahomes off the field with long sustained drives. Their first possession today was 12 plays eating up 97 yards. I don't know if it is Reich's game strategy but I don't think we will see a lot of long balls this year. His game plans are working although his going for it on fourth down I would prefer not to see much more of that. Today he did it and gave Texans the ball in Colts territory. Luckily, they could only score a FG. Intentionally risking giving up possession is worse than a fumble or INT.
How good?
