  1. basically, this game took us from the chance of being a #2 seed and finishing 12-4 possibly playing KC for the #1 seed to a team that assuredly is playing in the first round and not getting a bye. If we know that, Jim and company know that. I hope he is *. this was a terrible, terrible loss. The worst there has been in a number of years

I agree. I made the comment during the game, that this was as bad as the 41-0 pounding at the hands of the Jets in the 2002 wild-card game.

  2. I'm not saying Ed will not help you come playoff time , but it almost looks like he's collecting a last paycheck before retirement. He just comes and goes as he pleases somewhat similar to what he did the last few years with the Ravens. He is kinda of looking like an old Willy Mays with the Mets.

    "Willie".....or Unitas with the Chargers.

  3. Today being mediocre would have been an improvement.  He looked worse than he has in the past and even worse than he did in the pre-season that's why I think the injury had an impact on him at least today.

I hope it was and has been an injury, otherwise......

  4. Seven years ago, my nephew turned his garage into the ultimate Colts cave. We have between 6 and 20 Colts fans at his place for every game. Prior to this, we used to go to a sports bar that was 30 miles away and always proved to be quite an ordeal. My brother, myself, and our sons sing in the Church choir. The second service started at 11:00. I wonder what the neighbors or anyone driving by our Church thought when they saw 4 guys flying out the side door of the Church at 11:20, making a 60 yd. dash to the annex, all the while ripping off our gowns exposing Colts jerseys. They may have been equally astonished to see 2 grey hairs keeping up if not actually gaining on 2 much younger men by the time we reached the car. We never missed a kickoff. However if a State Trooper had been sitting anywhere along that 30 mi. stretch of highway, I wouldn't be able to make that claim! :)

  5. Just to have some fun with all of the forum members I ask you this:

When will DHB sign his contract???

Lets be honest... the guy has not garnered much attention around the league as a free agent. He has been out there long enough for someone to have landed him already but, nobody has tried yet. Word is the Colts and the Jets are the only teams linked to him as of now. I am pretty sure a guy like DHB does not want to play for a team like the Jets with a QB like Sanchez.

So this is how it will go down... the time that I plan on using to determine the winner will be when rotoworld posts the exciting news. Forum member with the closest time to the MINUTE will get my undying praise for about ten seconds.

    I'll go first: 3:07PM

Get your answers in ASAP or you just might miss out on all this undying praise I have to give!!!

  6. completely agree. i got my body through good old fashion weight lifting. course im not as big as landry

I got my body by doing nothing. Of course, I'm old, weak, and fat.

  7. Live in South Dakota and been a Colts fan since 1958. (yup, a bandwagon jumper) I know of at least 20 Colts fans from our tiny community of 2000, many of whom are as old as I am. Working hard on the 3rd generation to replace my brother and I when we check out!  :)

  8. Amazing era in Colt history. We had , or Baltimore had , 3-4 players that probably were pretty much "freaks of nature" (2 of them anyway) and were considered by most to be the best ever at the position. That being Parker , Unitas , Berry and I would include Liscomb . Parker and Liscomb were just so physically superior to the competitin , whie Berry and Unitas were ... well.. Berry and Unitas.

Thanks for reading the rather long story but I thought it was a humerous , amazing , insightful story. Glad at least one guy was interested enough to read it. I too love to read about the guys I watched years back. I was doing a little research for Bert Jones stuff and found that even though he was probably my favorite Colt , I really didn't realize that injuries just played so much havoc with his career. I knew about the shoulder issue but it seems like the poor guy was only really healthy a few years. Plus I found that he was always at odds with the * Tiger Irsay. That led to the trade to the Rams. Here were a couple excerts on Jones...

The widely respected scout Ernie Accorsi is quoted as saying that if Bert Jones had played under different circumstances, he probably would have been the greatest player ever. John Riggins has been quoted as saying Bert was the toughest competitor he has ever witnessed. On the eve of Super Bowl XLII New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, in discussing his choices for the greatest quarterbacks of all time, described Jones as the best "pure passer" he ever saw.[3]

Bert is my alltime "favorite Colt" as well. Damn those Steelers and Raiders in '75, '76, and '77.
