  1. I continue to read stuff here about how the Colts should do this, or have done that, or fired this guy or signed that guy. And yes I understand as Fans we 'think' we know it all or at least more then those in charge. But isn't it easy for us to sit here and critique the team without having full knowledge of what is actually happening?

  2. Does anyone see Jim on game day talking to players when they mess up?

Does anyone see Jim tell the OC "run the dang ball" when its third and one?

Does anyone see jim do anything durning the game but walk around and put hit 1 finger up when we score a touchdown?

if anyone can say yes to anyone of these question then <yes> then he should stay the HC of this team.

    if not.........

Each coach has his own style of coaching, are you saying Caldwell never talks to the players at all?

I don't believe Caldwell calls the players, that is what an offensive coordinator/Peyton do.

So you believe yelling and screaming works? Really how well is that working for say the Cheifs whose coach goes nutts all the time? Why do coaches have to be yellers?

  3. Before this last offseason the Colts never dipped their hand into free agency to shore up area's that everybody and their brother knew were weak area's. I don't think anybody expected them to go out and spend millions on a ton a free agents but 1 or 2 decent players for the last umteen yrs. would have helped tremendously. They signed players to ridiculously big contracts that were never worth the money I.E. Bob sanders, Kelvin Hayden. Admittedly Sanders could have been worth the money except he was never on the field, but then they hung onto him 2 yrs. longer than they should have. The defensive scheme is an absolute joke that is simply not executed well or not coached well or both. I could probably go on and on but im not going to waste my time I have to go pick up my Daughter.

People keep screaming for FA hires...well to do that you must first have the money under the cap to do so...the Colts didn't and you have to have a GM who believes in that way of building a franchise and again the Colts don't. So the whole FA aspect won't fly in Indy as long as a Polian is in charge.

Teams outside of maybe NE hold onto players to long, there is always that hope especially high picks that things will turn around. It's the nature of the business.

As for the defensive scheme, we don't know, we have no inside knowledge or even an understanding of the game like those doing have to know if the issue is scheme, talent, execution or what. Our D is buit talent wise to play a certain way and you can't change that overnight.

  4. I think that, save for a few throws, Painter looked pretty bad out there. That being said, though, he looked better than Collins has looked.

I now think the Colts are screwed for this year, regardless of which of them start. I think it makes more sense to get the real backup some playing time, though, so for that reason, at this point I would just go with Painter to get him more experience and maybe he can actually develop into a viable stop gap backup.

Assuming Manning will come back healthy next year (and a couple years after that), I would not want the Colts squandering a premium first round pick on a QB. I'd want their high picks used to shore up other parts of the team to better help immediate (next couple of years) Super Bowl aspirations. I would only go QB if Manning has only two or less years left.

Squandering a first round pick on a QB who might just be the next Peyton Manning and only comes around every decade or so? Sorry but if Luck is on the board when the Colts draft and they DON'T take him, this franchise is doomed for the following decade plus. People need to wake up, the Peyton years are over, it's time to begin moving towards your next franchise QB.

  5. How anybody can continue to use this ridiculously lame argument is beyond me. I haven't even been calling for Caldwell's head, but using this argument for him to keep his job is juvenile. It has no foundation in reality. Virtually everybody, but a few select Colts fans knew this team was going to be awful without Manning running the offense. We have other good players but the coaching staff nor the front office have put them in the posistion to be successful without Manning.

How many teams lose their Starting QB and win? NE got lucky, and even then they didn't make the playoffs. Exactly "how" should the Colts' mag't team prepared this franchise for play without Peyton Manning with the present CBA and the contracts other Colt key players have?

  6. You have to be kidding me? Who reported this? Phil B? JMV? A fan? If it came from someone reptituble then the reaction below is warranted.

The offense actually looked like an offense last night and moved the ball. Sure Painter looked a bit rough at times, but that is what is going to happen to a young QB making his first start and under constant pressure because of a injury riddled OL.

If Collins gets the start my head might explode. Collins is washed up and there is much more upside to go with Painter. God forbid we see what the kid actually has and maybe we have our back up until Manning retires.

    :nono2:

If it just someone saying they heard through someone that Collins is the probable starter then it probably just a bunch of bunk.

What upside? Really he made 2 passes for TD's last night that were due to the speed of the WR, not the arm of the QB. Painter was not a good college QB and never had NFL abilities. Yes Collins is not what he was, but he still brings more opportunity when he is given time in the pocket over Painter.

  7. Lets see in first season he akes the Colts to the SB

Lets see in second season with a high number of key injuries to key positions he gets the Colts to the playoffs

Lets see in third season with out Peyton he has kept the team in tact and even though they are 0-4 have only had 1 bad blowout.

Yes Caldwell can coach, I doubt any other person would have had any better of a record then Caldwell given the same things to work with.

  8. Yea and a great chance to go and see the Colts. Unlike many here I have no issue with the Colts being bad this year, it was bound to happen at some point, plus if you are going to pick a season to be bad might as well be this season when you can draft Peytons replacment in a few seasons. Plus there is no way you can match the experience of a live game sitting at home.

  9. LOL ... The Colts have been in the last 3 games ... and IMO if Painter had started all season we may very well be 3-1 right now! I say they win at LEAST 6 games this year - at least! And if we can get some guys to step up we could be 8-8.....

Okay what 6 teams do you see the colts beating?

  10. Caldwell deserves to get ripped when using very questionable judgment. I just think other coaches out there would blow him away head-to-head as far as decisions and judgment (bill cowher, chuckie, bill parcels, bill belichick, tony dungy)

Wow we just listed 5 HOF coaches...I would sure hope 5 HOF coaches might coach better then a Head coach in his 3rd season...

  11. Unless Mannings career is over we would be dumb to spend a #1 overall on a QB - so I agree enough of the Luck talk! If he can come back he still has 4-5 years left in him!

We need to improve on D and on the Oline!

I am truelly baffled how anyone can think that in year 4 or 5 Peyton would be a better option over a younger better QB in Luck? Green Bay showed how to handle it, and if the Colts are smart they follow their pattern. You draft Luck, he takes the 2012, 2013 and maybe 2014, but the Peyton era is coming to a close and people need to wake up to that.

  12. CAR VS CHI - Bears win

BUF VS CIN - Buffalo but it's close, let down after last week

TEN VS CLE - TN in a shocker

    DET VS DAL - Detroit

PIT VS HOU - Houston in an upset

NO VS JAC - NO by 20

MIN VS KC - Minn gets first win but only by a FG

SF VS PHI - SF pulls upset, Philly gans go nutts

WAS VS STL - Redskins are for real

NYG VS ARI - Giants but close due to road trip

ATL VS SEA - Atlanta but close due to road trip

DEN VS GB - GB in a blow out

NE VS OAK - NE only because of loss to Buffalo

MIA VS SD - SD in a blowout

NYJ VS BAL - Balt by 10

IND VS TB - TB by 2 TD's on Monday night

Nice I go 13-2 on the weekend...need to be in Vegas baby...

  13. I would have no issues making our O-line better than it is already. It is by far the most important (non-QB) position on the offense.

A bad RB can run behind a Good O-line, but a good RB can't run behind a bad O-line. (except barry sanders......) as for pass blocking it is the same.

Do you ever see Tom Brady getting hurried/rushed/sacked? not too often at all

How would Luck help us win a Superbowl in 2012-13-14? he wouldn't. We need players who help win now, not in 2016

No matter whom we draft...our window is basically closed, we need to start building for 2015 and on and to pass on Luck would be stupid.
