  1. seriously why is the idea of peyton being out for the season even being mentioned?? stop panicking people

I think it's being mentioned because it's a real possibility. It's heartbreak as much as panic.

  2. Had this much talent around him? I realize Peyton has made the majority of our offense, but with our system I'd say we're loaded with talent. As much as I want to see Peyton play, I honestly believe Collins can take us into the preseason if Peyton can't play. My only concern is his lack of mobility and slow release.

    Thoughts?

What talent? Without PM the Colts are a pathetic bunch. I assume you meant postseason; it ain't happenin' without Peyton.

  3. I have never heard the Colts say we need to get a big receiver. I have never heard Manning pine for a WR bigger than what he has thrown to. I have never seen the Colts draft a WR of size. That is what I mean by fanboy stuff withour merit. It is a message board sentiment and not based on anything from those that matter.

They clearly value speed, quickness, a burst, the ability to separate as traits for their WR's. If that comes in a larger receiver then great, but most times those players are the size of Wayne, Collie, Harrison, etc. And last I checked, the Colts really have had no issues throwing the ball around the field.

I don't know if they are saying they need a big receiver privately, if not, they should. We have come up short because our scrawny, weak receivers cannot win a 50-50 ball. As great as he was, Marvin could be knocked off the ball with minimal contact as in the KC playoff game. We need a big guy with some fight in him.

  4. Fairly simple question. I personally have them tied @ 10 with a few other teams. This being the Colts forum, Im sure to get blasted and called a hater, but I call it how I see it, and this team doesn't seem to do anything particularly well.

In no order: Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, Jets, Chargers, Eagles, Packers, Saints, Falcons.

    Tied with: Texans, Buccs, Chiefs.

No reason to hate you Trav. It all depends on a healthy Peyton. With him, we are definitely a top 10 team; without him we are not a top 20 team. We are probably about a 3-win team if Peyton is not able to play at his usual standard of excellence.

  5. i agree too but if manning does miss some time i think we will can still score. we have a top 2 TE, a top 5 WR, and a good running back with an improved offensive line and on the defensive side we have made many improvements(signings, draft, etc.)our corners might not be nown but they are good. we know we have good LBers,DEs,and safeties i think the only problem is still DT which has a injury prone 28 yr old and a small NT. our only other problem would be depth at other positions like safety, wide reciever

If Peyton doesn't play, maybe we could score if the opponent fumbled a kickoff or something like that. The Colts are a total mess without Peyton. Other than QB with Peyton, every position is a problem, unless Collie is healthy (he's good, real good).
