  1. Lol, so as a colts fan you'd be proud to be right about the colts sucking? Makes sense.

I'd be proud that I was able to accurately assess their talent level, yes.  I'd rather be wrong though and the Colts to destroy the Broncos.

  2. Maybe not 6 but I think we can all agree that Denver is going to run over this pathetic excuse for an offensive line and that Luck is going to be physically assaulted and running for his life the entire game.  Although as mentioned before being knocked to the ground is something Luck has grown accustomed to here in Indianapolis so it won't be anything new.

  3. Colts are not going to win big.  I think they might have a chance at not looking like garbage but they are going to lose.  Manning is going to destroy this defense and because of this horrible O-line Luck is going to get beaten up and have to run for his life and the Colts will not have a running game.  I hope that I am wrong and I am going to be rooting for the Colts but I just don't see them winning.  I'll honestly be happy with this team if Luck doesn't throw multiple interceptions or get sacked multiple times and the team is able to develop any sort of running game at all.  I think it's asking too much to put up any kind of defense against Manning without Mathis who was instrumental last year so I'm not asking for that.  So many of you are going to be horribly disappointed, you really need to learn to set more realistic expectations.

  4. If Holmes can't start I suppose Luck has a lot of experience playing behind a trash offensive line.  I just hope he doesn't get injured or hurt and that this team doesn't look like garbage on national television.  I don't think the Colts were winning this either way with Holmes or without him.

  5. 16-0 can happen absolutely.  Any team except for Greenbay can go 16-0 this year.  Will it happen, I seriously doubt it.  I think the chances of it occurring are miniscule but the thread asks can it happen and the answer to that is yes.

  6. I think there are two competing views for this game.  I'm already on record in numerous threads saying that the Broncos will win big.  Probably something similar to last night with Seattle and Greenbay.  I don't think its necessarily bad or makes you less of a fan regardless of who you think will win a given game.  It says more about what values you hold as a person.  I believe on one extreme you have fans that go into every game thinking the Colts are going to win, they generally tend to value traits like hope and faith more at the expense of traits like intelligence and logic.  There's nothing wrong with that and I believe in some respects its needed, a team needs die hard fans that truly believe they are going to win no matter what because it helps a team survive in the down times.  I think its less important when you have a good team like the Colts versus a team like the Jaguars but I still feel those types of fans are needed.  The ones that are saying the Broncos are going to destroy the Colts or even that the Colts will lose place more value in traits like reason, logic and intelligence.  They are also needed for a team will only get better by accurately assessing its talent and then figuring out in what areas it needs to improve.  These fans as shown here are great at doing match-ups, at seeing a team's strengths and weaknesses and how they measure up to other teams.  That tends to be the side I tend to be on but it doesn't make it right or make that type of fan better. And while there are two types of fans there are lots of people in the middle of those two extremes. It just depends on if you place more value in hope and faith or intelligence, logic and reasoning.  And while I've said that the first type are delusional and separated from reality that doesn't mean they aren't needed.

  7. I wonder how many of your 193 posts here take a personal shot at the other posters here...

It's just frustrating when in a 2 page thread not a single person actually debates the merits of the article and the facts and instead attacks the author or the news-magazine.   I understand some truths and facts are difficult to accept but if all you can do is take a shot at the magazine or the writer and completely ignore the facts... it's just a little upsetting. Especially when people like you in other threads have said that no one thinks that Luck is an elite quarterback.  That's all this author was trying to say and he used facts and statistics to back up his argument.  You know what, never mind I should just learn to accept idiocy and hypocrisy on a sports team message board.  I don't know why I try to expect more.

  8. Gotta love how two articles come out in one day. One of them completely biased saying how Luck is the next Brett Favre and the other actually using statistics and facts and attempting to more honestly assess Luck's first two years and the fans here love the article with no facts that says Luck is amazing and incredible and attack the article that provides a more honest and accurate depiction of Luck's first two years in the league using his actual statistics and facts. I realize facts and numbers are difficult for some people to accept but I'd really think at least someone could mount a tangible argument and point of view using facts other than saying, "Rolling Stones sucks."  I suppose once again I overestimated the people here.

All the author of the article wrote is, "Luck is a fine quarterback. Sometimes he is even a very good quarterback. But the story of his so-called arrival as a great one, let alone one of the elite, is fiction." Does anyone really want to argue that Luck is an elite quarterback in the same tier as Manning, Brady or Rodgers because if not what is your issue with this article other than its truth and factual basis. So please stop saying that the author is bashing Luck or that the Rolling Stones suck, all it does is make you sound *ic instead why don't you try to actually make a tangible case for Luck being great or this team being good outside of Luck and contend with the case the author is actually making.  I'm also curious how many people actually took the time to read the article rather than just reading the headline and jumping to make assumptions.

  9. Writers compare Luck to Favre, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever and then that article receives almost universal praise on the Colts forum yet if you dare to suggest Luck might be a tad overrated you get attacked viciously.  The lack of logic and reason on team message boards is astonishing.  Granted sports team message boards are not bastions of intellectual discourse but you'd think you could expect at least a modicum of intelligence.

  10. I think it's delusional for you to expect the team to add a quality lineman at the end of August. Anyone you're signing is going to be someone who was cut from another team.

Or should we sign the guy that no team has wanted a part of all offseason? Or make some grand gesture and trade a draft pick for a better center -- which no team is willing to give up at this point in the season, so you'd get reamed if you even could get one -- despite the fact that our starting center is out only short term?

Sometimes, teams cut good players on cut day. I'm not a huge Shipley fan, but his familiarity with Luck and most of the other coaches makes him a solid acquisition at this point.

When players get hurt, you plug holes with whoever is available and makes sense for you. This is typical roster management.

I'm not stating that at this point it wasn't a good move.  I'm saying that once again the Colts are playing with a horrible offensive line and they are going to get destroyed by better teams like the Broncos.  Feel free to disagree but I seriously doubt that you'll be coming here admitting you were wrong if they lose as I predict they will. So many people on this forum are in for a major wake up call on Sunday.  All you delusional fanboys who can't perceive the Colts losing are going to be shown exactly how good this team is.  I'm sure you'll come up with some excuse as to why the team lost though.  You seem to be very good at maintaining a delusional optimism that everything will be okay.

  11. I would also guess that the Broncos will probably come out on top 12-13 more times this season.....its one game.....not going to make or break the season. It only matters who is playing well in the last week of the season.....not the first week.

Yes, the Broncos are a great team.  The Colts aren't.  It's really that simple.  I still believe this team will get to the playoffs and still think this team can probably pick up at least 9 or 10 wins.  All I am saying is that the Colts are not a great team yet and the Broncos are and the Colts are seriously hurting right now.  Will this team get better,  I think the answer to that is a resounding yes but are they going to be good enough in six days to give the Broncos a decent game, no they are not.

  12. What were you hoping for? Holmes got hurt, Harrison got hurt........and chances are, if they are available, it is because they didn't make someone else's 53 man roster. AQ is a serviceable center.....not great; but not horrible. He was playing Guard in Baltimore and wasn't going to beat out Zuttah for the starting center position.

That being said, I do have my concerns about Shipley in a man blocking scheme. Probably going to have to keep the blocking scheme somewhat Vanilla at first....which may actually be a good thing.

I was hoping for the Colts not to pick up trash and start trash that couldn't even make another team's final 53 obviously I was expecting too much.

  13. Wouldn't call it delusional. You just never vote against your team (unless you're a Jags fan then it comes natural)

But at least believe you'll win. If you admit defeat before the battle even starts, you've already loss

I think you can be just as good a fan and be realistic and rational.  I don't think you have to forgo intelligence to be a fan and a good team shouldn't force you to.  I hope I am wrong but I'm not going to believe in something that is stupid only to be disappointed.  The Colts are going to lose, they are going to lose big on Sunday.  It doesn't mean the team won't make the playoffs, it doesn't mean they won't have a good record at the end of the season.  It means that the Broncos are a tier one team and the Colts are not. Maybe one day they will be if they ever decide to put a decent offensive line together but this team isn't there yet and I am not going to pretend that they are.

  14. They put Peyton behind a center that couldn't make the 53...

... I don't know why I bother. Don't watch the game if you're so sure of the outcome and are disgusted with the team.

I'll be watching hoping that I am wrong and will be the first one here to admit I was wrong if I am and nothing would make me happier.  Are you going to admit you are a delusional, head in the clouds fanboy if you are wrong? I seriously doubt it.

  15. ............... Just gonna go with the assumption that there's no way you're a Colts fan with that attitude buddy

But in case you are...... Come here, bring it in

Am I wrong?  Is it good that this team is putting Luck behind a Center that couldn't even make the 53 man squad of another team.  That this team traded away for a conditional 7th round draft pick.  I just really hope that Luck is not seriously injured.  What poor, pathetic management.

  16. AB got payed way more than what he ever we would have offered him - good for him. We're playing with guys who may pan out, but only time will tell. I think it's a bit early to call them trash, though.

Yes, because clearly other teams didn't want them because they were just too good.  I seriously question the intelligence of some of the people here.
