I'll pass on Ingram & Gavin I dont think you are giving the Fins D enough credit. They are pretty stout against the run this year. I do agree with you that our OLine def needs upgraded but the running game has slowly been coming around (really liked it vs. Titans). I dont think any of our RB's are stars but def serviceable and compliment each other very well as all 3 does something a little different. I also think that 19yd run by Ballard was HUGE at the end of the Fins game!! HOW MANY times can you remember the Colts not getting a 3rd & 1 or 3rd & 2 to seal the victory, punt & hope the D holds?!?!

yes I agree he needs to work on his hands but I def see the talent. All of our WR's are dropping balls with Reggie being the exception. They are rookies and will learn from their mistakes. Hilton's is mostly concentration as he has shown good hands, where he gets in trouble is when he starts to look down the field before catching the ball. Have I mentioned how good I think Allen is going to be yet? lol -
I'm really liking TY...needs to work on those hands, esp those automatic's but he's turning his head looking down field. He'll get it worked out but to drop a couple passes and still have this stat line: 6/102/1.....he got some skill tho

Colts missed Fleener but I actually thought we'd be ok with Allen (picked him up in fantasy as bye play for Gronk). Always been high on em'. The guy can do it all! He seems to be more NFL "ready" than Fleener at this point. I'm not saying Fleener isnt a nice part of this offense but I personally would like to see more looks Allen's way. I also know that we need his "blocking" more now at this point with the Oline protection. Hopefully eventually the Oline picks it up & we can see them both causing problems in the passing game! GO Colts 5-3!! Wooohooo

I agree with everything in this post about Freeman except for benching Angerer. If anybody is going to sit it needs to be Conner. Put Angerer & Freeman in the middle & that's one heck of duo imo! Seems like Conner has regressed some this year?? Anybody else notice that his play isnt what it used to be or is it just me?

You make a great point. He hasn't given up much yardage, but he hasn't made many successful plays on the ball either. I think that Davis can eventually be what we all hope his is. But for now, I seem to think that he's not quite there yet--but what do I know?
Let Davis get settled in some before you write hime off Flash:) I agree with you that he's not there yet but I can't remeber the last time I seen a corner for the Colts w as much talent!!

Vontae Davis hasn't shown much since joining the Colts. He's allowed an incredibly high percentage of receptions that have been thrown his way. Opposing QBs have a ridiculously high rating throwing at him. And when he has made a play on the ball, he's been called for pass interference.
So far...not a good pickup. And based on the way he's been playing in the last three games, we will not miss out on much if he doesn't play in game 5.
Powers on the other hand, has played like our #1 corner. He's been amazing.
What percentage of passes are you talking about? The 2 yard slant % variety?? What big plays has Davis given up?? I'll give you the PI calls even tho some of those were questionable (replacement refs). Davis is very good against the run as well & will only get better with time. I think if he misses a game or 2 you will see how important he is going to be in the secondary.

No offence:) but is this thread serious?? I'd give a 2nd rd pick for V. Davis ALL DAY LONG!! CB's with his talent are very hard to come by. I'm not even going to try to explain or justify the trade as I feel that is obvious & if you still dont understand REWATCH the final play by the Jags without Davis on the field. Only knock on Davis so far (after the Chitown game) has been the PI's & a couple of those were questionable at best! This guy will continue to get better as he plays & we better PRAY he is not seriously hurt after leaving the game sunday.

As of right now I have mixed feelings on Fleener....At times he looks lost & scared on the field but I'll wait to see him in a REAL game b4 I start judging him but ALLEN looks like a freakin BEAST out there!!

I'm right there with ya Stewie! It should make for a very exciting offseason with all that money coming off the books...$30-35m? I could be alittle off there on my numbers but should have plenty to fill some glaring holes. I actually think we will be much better as a unit this year than people are giving us credit for, competetive is what I'm hoping for with improvment as the year goes. Luck has some weapons on O (Oline needs some work) but I think its going to come down to the D. Very excitied to see what Davis can do for that secondary! Going to be a fun/exciting season for me anyhow and even more exciting offseason! GO COLTS!!

I couldnt disagree more IndyTrav! Angerer was 2nd in solo tackles to AB and LED the team in tackles for loss. He is also top 2-3 in PD & FF! So the ONE guy on defense who actually tackles while having NO beef up front is going to have a serious fall in production? I will give you that his pass coverage is lacking & needs improvement but Angerer is a ball hawk, ALWAYS around the ball carrier! I think you may need to go back and watch the tape cuz we are not watching the same player. Yes it's Angerer's fault that nobody could tackle so he had to chase em' down sometimes 8-10 yards down field (end sarcasm). Not a personal attack Indy

WE trash the players we cut but not everybody does.....Any way you look at it, we got NOTHING in return for a halfdozen veterans.
You can say what you want about the old guys we ashcanned but we got NOTHING for them.
Of course we are less talenetd for now..
...Lets draft some new boys and see how we look then...
I see what you are trying to say OldUncle, but what did you honestly think we would get for those VETERANS?? Most of them are still FA's....if other teams arent willing to spend $ on them when their available for just $, how could you possibly see the Colts getting any kind of return for said players? They are still available for a reason
