It’s amazing how little you know about Andrew Luck.   He didn’t love the deep ball.  His offensive coordinator did.  Bruce Arians.  Luck came from Stanford which ran the West Coast offense, you know, throwing short.

Arians and Pagano were old school coaches who believed in the big chunk play offense.

As for everything else, not a surprise you decide it was all Luck’s fault.   You’ve only been selling that for over 10 years.  It’s impressive to be THAT WRONG for THAT LONG!   Bravo!!

    There’s a reason I blocked him.

It's a shame he so loved the deep ball that he took all those big shots, plus he relied so much on running the dang ball and more big shots.

Harbaugh flat out lied pre-draft saying that he could make all the throws.

His rookie year it was WTH with these poor simple bubble screen passes, and then 3 years of hundreds of inaccurate short throws.

It was fun beating the tar out of Jaxs and the Texans and other weak teams.

He was barely above .500 otherwise.

Yes I would rather he didn't quit but, you win some "playing like a LB", and He risked all playing like one.

In the end, he took the $$$ and was still able to run.

Not sure if @Indyfan4life would be only busy today or if he will not be able to be available all week..

He could come back on next few days and pick for Vikings, but if the trade worked out, only a couple of picks will be left to draft.

Yeah, sorry. I’ve got some personal stuff going on this week that kind of popped up out of no where. Not to mention I’m sick as % and spending most of my free time sleeping.

The forum is going to implode here soon…… Not going to lie this doesn’t sting. It’s flat out just depressing. Literally every team in the AFC south made considerable moves to improve. We’ve done..? I don’t even know anymore. If we get cooked this year Ballards seat will be exceptionally HOT.

Here’s to hoping he crushes the draft because FA “so far” has been an unmitigated disaster. Players that were close to deals here went with other teams in our own division. *sigh*

Hey. We got a depth DT! That’s the piece we’ve been missing to make the playoffs and more!

Flacco is known for having horrible internal clock. He was 40th of 46 QBs last year in time to throw at 3.01 seconds.

With that said, he's still one of the better backups we could have gotten. As long as he's OK mentoring and helping AR, I'm good with that signing.

Yeah I should have worded it a bit different. I meant he’s got a quick release in situations where it counts. Not instantly panicking (Minshew) and making bad throws or moving out of the pocket.

IF Flacco ever had to step in, I think he would be fine. Not saying for the entire season, but a few games like Cleveland or even just a few plays. Hopefully AR doesn’t miss a snap this year.

Dear God dude you are just arguing to be right at this point.  NFL teams often pair a veteran QB with a young QB to teach them and not take away from their practice reps.  This is nothing new, it’s even a role Flacco has had before.  The Colts have also done this before having Mark Rypien and later Brock Huard here to back up Peyton early in his career followed by Matt Hasselbeck here to back up Luck early in his career.  It happens to just about every team in the league who has a young QB.

So knowing that and knowing that Ballard brought Minshew in last year part because he could help teach Richardson it’s reasonable to assume that’s what he’s looking for in a back up now.  Do you think Ballard just signed Flacco without knowing what kind of person he is and without telling him the role he would have here?  Do you think Flacco doesn’t know this?  Why else would Ballard sign Flacco?  To compete with Richardson for the starting job?  That’s just ridiculous.  They wanted a vet back up who won’t take reps from Richardson who can step in a pinch but also help develop Richardson.  If they just cared about the first two things they would have just gone with Sam as the backup.

So ask yourself what Flacco have that Sam doesn’t?  NFL experience that he can use to help mentor Richardson.  This is no different when someone starts at a new job and you pair them up with an experienced employee for a little while to try to pass on that experience.  It doesn’t mean that experience employee is the greatest teacher on the planet it just means they have seen things the new kid hasn’t and can help them deal with those situations as they see them for the first time.

Again, this is nothing original or even that controversial.  It’s pretty much standard operating procedure for NFL teams with a young QB they are trying to bring along.

This is why I stopped responding to him. Dude is just doing his best to convince himself and others he is right. Any coach in the NFL would LOVE to have Flacco as a backup.

    Because Richardson is the starter…

There is no other logical reason to sign him.  Also do you really think Ballard didn’t factor all that in before signing him?  This isn’t rocket science.

Yeah, I’m really failing to see the disconnect here and why he’s so upset about Flacco signing to be the BACKUP.
