You mean the defense, offense and your QB play was sub par at best, where did they carry you in the playoffs? Defense has carried the Texans. Watson has to learn how play from under center which in and of itself can generally take a couple years for a QB to learn atlotmnog other things. And for what ya gave up, I don't see it being worth it at all. But hey... we'll see what happens.

Miller had a fantastic season. Hopkins' production obviously declined bc of Brock. The offense as a whole is going to suffer when the QB is in over his head and getting into shouting matches with the HC. But Deshaun isn't Brock. I love what we did to get him. He's been said by many to be the best QB in this draft, and the Texans got him at #12. No complaints from me. Like you said, we'll see what happens.

Hard to say,  some guys get it,  some guys don't.   But I don't think he is your opening day qb this year

Maybe not. As exciting as it would be to see the new guy on the field, I'd rather he be completely ready to face NFL defenses before getting thrown to the wolves. Hopefully Savage can hold down the fort until OB decides that the time is right.

Hate to say it but i'm excited for you.  You gotta be crappin your pants with the qb addition.  Our division could have some exciting young qb play for years to come. Better division play and competition is good for all of us.

Thanks. I'm liking it too now. Andrew has some other young guns to compete with for best QB in the South now! It's about time lol. I like the way things are trending now.

If Watson can learn to take a snap under center and learn the drops.   He has a lot of learning to do.  Plus no draft pick until the third next year

If I'm not mistaken, about 60 percent of offensive plays started out of the shotgun formation in 2016. Every new player in the league has things to learn.

  5. It's a strange situation. Maybe they're following the Broncos blueprint to have the rookie sit and let the other guy show what he can do first. If it doesn't work, trade away Glennon to a team like the Browns. Otherwise, I'm not sure what Chicago's FO is getting at.

Yeah, him and Dabo Swinney had a heck of a time running those pick plays like the Peyton led Colts and Patriots do, at Clemson. I am sure O'Brien will notice that and implement a good short passing game and run support to open up shots down the field.

No doubt. This is also the first time he's had a guy like Watson under center to work with. His skill set should add another dimension to the playbook.

Because they are desperate = smart? I don't see it that way, especially when you look at what they gave up to get to that pick, and then the other players that were there that could have been much better picks although it wouldn't have addressed QB, but I really don't think it's smart to give up what they did just to get a guy that's essentially a 50/50 gamble as of right now. And now the texans are without a 1st or a 2nd round pick for the 2018 draft...that hurts. On top of it all, what's the Texans history with developing QB's, which Watson is gonna need a fair amount of? It's not very good as I recall. Just doesn't seem too smart to me. I actually think the Cards out of all teams that had a need for a QB played it smartest by not going with the desperation move and taking a huuuuge reach to fill a need.

O'Brien got to the playoffs with dudes like Hoyer and Brock under center. Deshaun will be terrific.

I think the Texans were set on beating the Colts the past few years to win the South.  That's just my opinion.  I am glad(as a Colts fan) that the QB situation isn't figured out but if they had an average or above average veteran QB, they'd be awful scary.

Of course, the Colts were the team to beat. It was bad enough we have Andrew to worry about, but now there's Mariota and even the Titans are getting better. Hopefully whatever QB we go with can help include us in that much improved conversation.

True, it seems like the past few years, their goal was just to win the South.

Not really. Winning the South was obviously a big step, considering how things have gone for many years in the past, but any team that makes the playoffs has SB aspirations, regardless of who they are or who their QB is.

They want to keep 1, but reportedly want to trade up for Trubisky.  If they move up to 2, then the people who made the Vegas bets on the sure thing Garrett may be hosed.  He could be their second pick.

That'd be bizarre and unnecessary but also funny. Wouldn't put it past Cleveland lol.

He took the lives of others.   He gets no sympathy from me.  My only sympathy is for his daughter

Laughing about the death of someone else's son, brother, uncle or cousin isn't the same as having a lack of sympathy. I didn't like the guy either obviously but I'm not gonna crack jokes about him hanging himself.
