Still, the defensive playcalling on the last drive left a lot to be desired. Why, with a QB like Brees, were the Texans playing way off the receivers?

I really like Watson though, exciting QB to watch. With him in the game, watching the Texans play is no longer as brutal as watching cement dry. It's astounding on how he's the difference between the offense being pretty good and astronomically incompetent.

Your guess is as good as mine man. I understand them playing deep but giving up chunk yardage like that? It definitely  left a lot to be desired. You’re right on about Watson. I’m glad we finally found the one after the dark years at QB :default_20smile:

The O was/is expected be weaker this year and the D was expected carry the team.. now with Gordon, Edelman, AB as well as Thomas.. Brady has feel like a kid on Xmas morning!

Don’t forget about his backs. Michel, Damien Harris and James White too. Even with the loss of Gronk the O is loaded.

I've kept wondering if Antonio has some Mental Health stuff going on.

His behavior has just gotten stranger and stranger.  He didn't used to be

this openly defiant for most of the time he was with Pitt.

Yup. This is reminiscent of Brandon Marshall acting out earlier in his career before his diagnosis.

I thought the GM resigned to care for his wife who had cancer. I believe she died. I was under the impression that he might return. Other than the Osweiler signing, I thought he was a pretty good GM. What did you think of him, @Qwiz?

This past week has not been great for O'Brien. He is making moves that someone who expects to be fired would make. Teams need their draft picks.

Yeah friend you’re thinking of Rick Smith, who was well-respected and had a damn good track record.

It’s a shame the drama with Nick Caserio happened.

One playoff win Ran the GM out of town,   just mortgaged the future on a pretty good left tackle.   Also traded a premier pass rusher.   If they don't get passed the first round of the playoffs he is done

One playoff win under a host of bad quarterbacks. The left tackle move seems to imply that he believes the team can win now. The Clowney trade could have been handled better, that’s for sure. You may be right about the playoffs. It certainly wouldn’t look good at all if it was another one and done.

Never get enamoured with QBs who are 2 years removed from the draft.. it doesn’t end well mostly.

That’s not even touching on the whole premise of this topic...

Yup. So much could happen between now and then. He looks like the real deal now but two years is a long time in football.

Unless they fall off in a big way, you aren’t going to see Bakhtiari or Whitworth (to name two) on the trading block anytime soon.

It’s as critical a position as there is on a roster.  And guys that good are really, really hard to come by.  Their names may not be as well-known as Mahomes or Donald, but GMs don’t care about that...nor should they.

It’s not about being well-known, it’s about transcendence. But I do see where you’re coming from.
