  1. I would LOVE it if we drafted Forrest Lamp at #15. I originally thought we could trade back and still get him, but now I am convinced we need to take him at #15.

I normally do not watch any tape, but I recommend everyone to watch some clips of this guy. He is an absolute beast on the field. He moves incredibly well. It is easy to see the Zack Martin comparisons.

We absolutely have holes on D, but Lamp has the potential to be an All-Pro offensive lineman. We cannot afford to pass on sure things.

  2. I would rather have your alternative 1st round pick, Forrest Lamp. Lamp, to me, has the potential to become an All-Pro guard. Reuben Foster concerns me, character-wise. I also feel he will not get out of the top 10.

I would take a hard pass on Tim Williams. He oozes potential, but I am not convinced he can lay off the weed.

I would pass on Mixon given the PR nightmare he brings with him. Plus, it sounds like he will be gone after the 2nd round.

Jake Butt is an intriguing 4th round pick. He could represent good value.

There will be a lot more over the next few years.....  but as of right now?  Kyle Long and David DeCastro make 10M per, Osemele 11.7 per, and Zeitler 12 per.  Bar's been set.  Not sure why anyone of their caliber going forward would be paid any less?  Hell, Leary just got signed for 8.7 per, and that was after a year of being a backup... albeit on a stacked line.

Zack Martin will likely elevate those numbers further when he signs an extension with Dallas, likely next year.

  4. One guy I have my eye on is DE Keionta Davis from Tennessee-Chattanooga. He is roughly 6'3" and 270 lbs and was incredibly productive in college, albeit against lesser competition. He reminds me of Matt Judon in last year's draft class. Not so much in their style of play, but as a productive small school guy with potential.

  5. I particularly like the Kayvon Webster and Jarvis Jones signings at your respective price points. Webster offers a great deal of untapped potential after years of learning behind two of the best in Talib and Harris. Jones is a solid contributor with playoff experience.

I can't say I am a big fan of Derek Barnett. I love the production in college, I just don't see it translating to the NFL. I may be wrong, but he just seems to be a step slow.

If we can get Conley in the 2nd and Evans in the 3rd, that would be tremendous. Anzalone would represent tremendous value in the 4th even with the injury history.

I agree.  I'd love to see us sign Zeitler.  Best case scenario is Clark has developed into a reliable starter and they move Castonzo to the right side because his play has been up and down.  Clark-Mewhort-Kelly-Zeitler-Castonzo could be one of the league's better starting lineups

There is no way I would consider moving Le'Raven Clark to left tackle. I did not see anything in those last 3 games to lead me to believe he is the future at right tackle let alone left tackle. I hope that he continues to progress, makes a jump in his second year, and becomes a reliable right tackle. Castonzo needs to shape up or risk being waived.

It will be interesting to see Mewhort's recovery from the knee injury. He was not the most nimble of linemen before the injury. He is solid, nothing more.

I am more interested in seeing Joe Haeg's improvement in year 2. He could become one of our better interior linemen. He reminds me of former Colt Jake Scott.

  7. Personally, I do not see us signing the triumvirate of Zeitler, Williams, and Johnson in free agency. We may get one of those guys if we are lucky. There are too many teams with money to spend.

Also, I would not re-sign Walden. The 2016 season was an aberration for him sack-wise, and I still do not see him providing a consistent pass-rush. Let some other team throw money at him.

As for the draft, I would prefer not to take a running back in the 1st round. I have read that Cook has a shoulder issue that may hurt him in the draft as well. I am also not a fan of Reeves-Maybin given his injury history. The rest of the draft is pretty good.

  8. I am just curious where everyone goes for their draft information. Are there any sites you recommend that are not as well known?

I tend to stick with Bleacher Report, ESPN, and the NFL Network. However, if I stick with the same sites I am afraid it will bias my perception of some of the players available.

    I appreciate everyone's input.

Not a fan of your draft at all. We have to get impact defensive players early in the draft, and spending our 1st on a OG would be somewhat of a waste if you ask me. Indy already has young talent at OG in Haeg, Mewhort, and Good. If anything, Indy needs to sign a veteran presence at OG like TJ Lang, Zeitler, or Leary. -1st round I go with Takk McKinley after a trade down.

2nd round I'm not so high on TJ Watt. I'd go CB instead since I went OLB round 1. I like Gareon Conley here. With the second 2nd rounder I'd almost like to go CB again with a guy like Jourdan Lewis, who would be an excellent nickel for Indy. Another option is to get Ryan Anderson from Bama.

I think Haeg has a bright future in Indy. I am not as sold on Mewhort long-term. I think he will command a contract greater than his play and availability would dictate. I would love to sign Zeitler, but it will likely require a contract averaging $10 million + per season and I do not feel Cincy will ultimately let him go.

McKinley would be ok, although he only has one good year of tape as he really came on this season. Anderson is a possibility in the 2nd round, but I am not as high on him. I think Anderson really benefited from all the talent around him at Alabama. I do not see him having the same level of impact in the NFL.

I do like Jourdan Lewis. A little undersized, but like Baker, is a playmaker with outstanding athleticism.
