  1. I would take Fleener with our 2nd pick, but I doubt he's still there. With the success Pats had with Gronkowski (plus the fact the draft isn't deep with good TE's) he will be gone by then.

Heck, maybe they will sign Clark at veteran minimum since nobody is even sniffing in his direction. <- probably for good reason though

  2. I for one think he is two different backs, Lolly. I have seen him look like a star and look like a bum. Until he shows the consistency....I would rather see Carter hurt a linebacker with a helmet in the chest. I too hope that Brown, Carter, and Evans become a nice trio.

Back to the Donald, he needs to catch the screens and help the offense. We will not have a fullback all of the time...he needs to block or he will be on the sideline. He is an awful blocker.

I totally agree. We talked about that last year on colts.com.....Brown was alot better catching passes out of the backfield.....we need to get back to that. Spread that D!

  3. I just don't he's as great as you are trying to make him seem. Sorry I upset all the DB lovers lol.

I really do hope he proves me wrong since anything is better than last year!!!

  4. Watch the video below...he literally runs away from the entire Titans D...he did the same against Jax in 2010 and has shown nice speed in other instances. Sometimes getting caught isn't because you aren't fast, it is because of angles or having to slow down for other reasons while defenders are able to run full speed. Say what you want about DB, but don't say he isn't fast or capable of big plays...those are the two things he has proven. As a side note, not only did DB average almost 5 YPC last year, he was also top 5 in the league in DVOA. He had a very nice year and should have been given more chances, imo.

Also, as an FYI, the Colts actually average less YPC last year with a FB in the game, so don't automatically expect it to make a huge difference for DB or whoever the RB is. (I couldn't find the link, but Kuharsky wrote an article on it in the AFC South blog toward the end of the season or right after the season ended.)

Obviously you have a lot more time on your hands than I do. We've all seen that highlight video on NFL channel's top 5 a billion times. I think it's a great run. It shows that he was basically caught in the backfield, and made a great come back the other way, with a stellar block by Orlov.

I also see a Tamme (a TE) running with him, and a blocked Safety basically running him down = not fast.

Now find us the 50 other films of him falling down behind the O-Line, lol

Again, I hope Brown proves me wrong this year, but it's hard to dispute the fact that we were focused more on the run last year since our QB situation was left up to Turdis Painter for most of the year. Maybe since we're beefing up the O-Line this year, we'll see more of a run game, and Evans, Carter and Brown will get some good runs. All I know is I'd rather just root for my team instead of arguing about Brown in an Evans thread.

  5. He ran for 2 TDs in the must game that put us in the playoffs in 2010...right?

..and he broke the big one in our 1st win when 0-16 was on the horizon...

..and I thought Jacksonville had a Top-10 run defense..

DB played all 16 games and caries 134 times (8.4 a game)..even though his avergae was just under 5.0 (it was 4.8)

..maybe he runs into the back of o-linemen becayes they are getting blown up into the backfield.

....dont diminsh the value of a fullback by saying 'anyback could run beind one'

Our scheme didnt use one his 1st two years

Running backs need blocking backs....and I dont think its meaning less that he has not lost a fumble in 3 years

You havent seen the best of Brown but you've seen flashes.

    You'll see more this year.

Huh?? I wasn't saying FB's don't have value at all. I was saying a FB will help any RB by providing more blocks. Yes Brown improved last year, but it's not hard to improve on what he did the years prior. I hope he's better this year of course, but I don't think he's by any means a stellar back. <- I can only hope he proves me wrong.

    P.S. He's still not "fast"

  6. lolly

..you may have missed our 2 wins last year..and the 4-game win streak in 2010

...Brown..doesnt get the ball very much but he has made some big plays.

He'll get the ball a little more now ..with a blocking back..

Its strange to hear people say they'd rather have an undrafted free agent who's never played a down in a real game.

Believe me, I didn't miss them.

His big runs were against Jacksonville's defense if I'm not mistaken. Plus, the DB's always catch up to him while he's running (stopped one TD, and caught up at the goal line)......he's not that fast. Plus he loves running into the backs of O-Line men and falling down.

I do agree that with a Fullback, he'll actually have some holes. (Proven last year when we tried it the few times) But any RB would run better behind a fullback.
