Earlier this week - Coach Chuck Pagano referenced T Y Hilton as a "ghost" in his weekly news conference. Do you like the nickname "The Ghost" for TY Hilton ??
-
Personally - I don't think simply a fine should apply to a second offense for the exact same infraction. Suh didn't "get the message" about his on-field behavior until he was suspended. First offense = fine. Second offense = suspension.
Personally - I am concerned about our offensive players with a player with questionable character & ethics on the same field. Burfict wasn't drafted out of college because of his on-field behaviors. The Bengals gave him a chance and he's become an NFL "stud". However - he is now "out of control" again and his behaviors are putting careers at risk. If the Bengals head coach and/or the NFL wants to make their message loud & clear - Burfict should be benched for a couple of games.
-
LB Vontaze Burfict drew TWO unsportsmanlike penalties vs the Panthers last weekend. This week the NFL fined him $25,000 for twisting the ankles of QB Cam Newton and TE Greg Olsen following tackles. This is the second time Burfict has been fined by the NFL for the exact same offense.
Are you concerned about the safety of our Colts offensive players knowing this player will be playing opposite them this Sunday ??

I think ALL people have a right to their opinion whether it reflects mine or not. I am getting VERY tired of people "backing down" and/or apologizing for expressing their opinion. Political correctness is not always correct.
In this particular case - I don't think that Forrest Lucas should have been the one writing an apology letter.
-
Last week Charlotte Lucas (co-owner of Lucas Oil) ended up in the middle of a social media firestorm when she expressed her personal opinion on a Facebook post. Forrest Lucas took the PR point when he purchased a full-page ad in the "Indianapolis Star" to apologize for Charlotte & her actions.
Does your opinion of a business owner and/or celebrity change when they express an opinion that is different than your own ??

1. No - we need the depth. However - I'm not so sure he'll be on our roster once the new league year starts in March 2015.
2. I think Richardson is playing better than he did last year when his head HAD to be swimming with his third offensive system in as many years. I am hopeful that with our STARTING o-line in front of him - and - as the season progresses he'll continue to improve. IF he does NOT improve by seasons end - I agree with the respondent who indicated he was a waste of a 1st round draft choice.

ENJOY TWODAY'S "TWOSDAY TWOFER":
1. Recently the Denver Broncos released Pro Bowl K Matt Prater and his salary - and - chose to stick with K Brandon McManus. Do you think the Colts might do the same with S Laron Landry ??
2. Has your opinion changed of RB Trent Richardson over the first 6 weeks of the 2014 season ?? Why ??
-
Yes - the NFL is being hypocritical. NFL players have indicated their displeasure with Thursday night games because of not having enough time to rest up between games. The NFL has listened to the rustle of $$$$ instead of listening to their product - aka players.
While I think it is a moot point that Thursday night football is here to stay - there has to be some way to improve the quality of the product while NOT "adding insult to injury" - literally & figuratively. I personally think the NFL should STOP Thursday night games - it isn't going to happen.
-
Is the NFL being hypocritical when they say that player safety is their number 1 priority - but - continue to play Thursday night football - forcing players to travel and/or play on a "short week" ??
-
I had cereal & yogurt with appropriate breakfast drinks for the first two games - Colts lost. The third game I had blueberry waffles and sausage patties - Colts won big. Been eating the waffles & sausages ever since regardless of game time. Coincidence ?? I think not........

What are your gameday goodies ??

Can't "pass" on starting todays answers:
Offense: TY Hilton (MONSTER GAME)
Defense: JJ Watt (While I am a true blue Colts fan - there isn't any other defensive player who stepped on the field in Houston who comes close to Watt's monster game. Do I hear "2014 Defensive Player of the Year" ??)
Special Teams: Pat McAfee is having a Pro Bowl-worthy season. Colts fans need to vote early and OFTEN !!
-
Who gets your "Thursday Night Football" 3 gameballs: Offense - Defense - Special Teams ??
-
Where will you be watching the Colts primetime game vs the Texans ??
-
Agree wholeheartedly. The defense should hold its own against a Houston offense that is lead by a turnover QB. The offense - however - will be facing the strength of the Texans team. The offensive line MUST give Andrew Luck time to go thru his progressions and get the ball to the most favorable matchup in order to move the football.
-
Okay - let's be honest - IF the Texans were doing the traveling instead of our Colts - we'd all feel differently about the Colts appearing in another primetime contest. But we have to play the schedule we're dealt. With that in mind ........
Which Colts unit MUST be at it's sharpest to beat the Texans and take over the AFC South ??
-
Defensive MVP: Tie between Vontae Davis and Bjoern Werner (YES SubZero you can pick both)
Offensive MVP: Tie between Anthony Castonzo - Dwayne Allen and TY Hilton
-
Which ever one of them is standing between us and the division crown !!
-
ENJOY TWODAYS "TWOSDAY TWOFER":
1. Defensive MVP from Sunday's game ??
2. Offensive MVP from Sunday's game NOT named Andrew Luck ??

Nevermore is my personal favorite !!!

I'll kick off todays responses: DISCOMBOBULATED !!
-
Please read ALL the responses before posting yours. Give a different ONE WORD critique of the Colts win over the Ravens.
-
I agree - these are all good questions - and - I wish I knew the answers too. Hope that Coach Pagano is asked that question during media availability today !!
-
Earlier this week John Harbaugh resurrected a previous accusation that the Colts "pipe in noise" - then later back-pedaled trying to make it a joke between himself & friend Chuck Pagano.
In doing so - he broke a long-standing NFL pre-game "unwritten rule" by providing "bulletin board material" for the opposing team.
Will the Colts faithful blow the roof off of Lucas Oil Stadium this Sunday in response to Harbaugh's "back-handed accusation" ??
Question of the Day - 10/18 "Bengals Game"
in Colts Football
Posted
It appears that I have my dates messed up the past couple of days. Oh well - I'm posting Saturdays question early because of a family wedding.
The AFC North leaders - Cincinnati Bengals - roll in to Lucas Oil on Sunday afternoon. They feature a stingy defense and a balanced offense who will be without Pro Bowl wideout AJ Green. Which Colts unit must bring their "A" game to defeat the Bengals and add another conference victory to their credit ??
