  1. the third preseason game is generally the one that most mirrors a regular season game and where the first units get the most work. looking forward to sunday and seeing new personnel and schemes. might make it to camp on friday if the schedule falls into place.

  2. I just go by what I have seen on Reitz and Mcglynn and Justice from eye test and what I read

i get that but it seems there is a total disregard to the professional football peoples opinions. what makes your "eye test " conclusions more credible than folks whos' livelihood is dependent on their evaluation abilities ? i just don't get the pre judging of players when no games have been played yet. i don't care what guys did on other teams. situations are different, coaches, styles philosophies and the like. some guys excel in certain styles and some don't. i say lets let them actually play first.

  3. What are you like two with comments lik that? Go watch some games, he is soft, hes agile NOT a mauler thats what is needed at Guard, Agilty is needed at Tackle, Go look at what the Texans O Line did to our D Line last year they completely mauled them then compare that to games that Reitz was in the starting lineup, we were completely manhandled on the left side from Reitz on to Castonzo

define soft ? reitz is learning . you think every player who comes into the league is a seasoned vet ? the colts are building something. mcglynn has been known as a physical nasty player who plays through the whistle. soft doesn't come to mind. i know this is a message board but shouldn't the powers that be be given the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise ? saying this guy can or can't play before they've even played a preseason game let alone one that counts is ridiculous.

  4. Apparently they dont or they wouldnt be trying different lineman at Guard, Mcglynn, Linkenbach, Seth Olsen and Ijalana before he went down, sounds like to me they dont have the answer and dont have alot of faith that Reitz is the answer

who else has gotten reps at right guard with the ones ?

  5. Reitz isn't a starting Guard, neither is Mcglynn both for the same reasons, both are soft,

the professional well paid football executive completely disagrees with your opinions. gee, i wonder who is more qualified in their opinions ?

  6. I always thought Winston Justice was immature in my opinion and still do think that, I also question his work ethic, a guy that was a 2nd round pick has had 5 years now to establish hmself as the man in Philly and did not get it done says red flag to me, Mcglynn I am not sure on he looked soft in Cincy in the 4 games he started, I did not follow him at all in Philly

have you ever met winston justice ? if not how do you judge his maturity ? posters like you kill me.

  7. Maybe not but I would still take the Pro Bowl O Lineman to evaluate talent over 6th round pick. of course I dont know how well Grigsons eye is at scouting talent at O Line but I am awfully concerned about him bringing over Mcglynn and Justice just because he is familiar with them, being familiar with a player or players can be great if those players showed well in the past, neither of which have consistently and at times have played quite bad

why is your opinion more credible than the highly compensated professional football executive ?

  8. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Ryan_Grigson Grigson was a 6th round pick so I am not sure if I am that excited about his ability to pick out good O Lineman, he wasn't exactly a highly thought of one, Im just not a person that will buy into his ability to find good O Lineman because he was one, Now if the guy was Willie Roaf or someone of that caliber I would be because Roafs style of play has been a proven success, Im not saying Grigson dont know what to look for in O Linemen, But he has alot more to prove to me then he was a former O Lineman

i'm certain he's much more qualified than you or anyone else here.

  9. I'd stash him to IR and have him for next year. The guy is a monster when healthy. He's missed most of the last two years, but sometimes you just get a freak injury and it lingers a little longer than expected.

my brother in law said around carolina he had a reputation for being lazy. big guy though.

  10. I think you're right, but I can't help but wonder if he has anything left at all. It's apparent that Grigs isn't keeping guys who spend more time in rehab than on the field. I like that attitude.

you can't make the club in the tub.

  11. I say we give it a Shot. But then again, didn't we just Sign another O-Lineman when we Cut Ben?

"no thanks. out of shape and obviously unmotivated. good run blocker real bad at pass protection. a holding penalty machine." not my opinion, from my brother in law who is a panther season ticket holder. take it for what it's worth.

  12. Dear god we seriously are going to the Arena League now? Hopefully we resign Ijalana at some point but seriously the arena league Grigson? C'MON MAN!

camp body, no more no less. i believe he doesn't go through waivers until after he's had his surgery. i bet he stays with the colts. they had to make the move now to free up a spot and stay at 90 for camp.

  13. Reitz is a better pass blocker then Link without question, but as far run blocking Reitz isn't good at all, as for our 2nd best O Lineman last year Deim. if Reitz gets the starting spot forget about running the ball behind him he isn't strong enough to play Guard, he was brought in originally to play Tight End and groomed to play Tackle for cryin out loud in other words he is athletic and is better suited to play Tackle, playing Guard you have to have a mean streak and Reitz doesn't appear to have that either

you don't think reitz made strides strength wise in the off season ?

  14. I think its simple really, in an O Line sitution like ours, Castonzo and Satele is set most of us if not all of us can agree on that in Castonzos case its more for his 1st round status then for his performance to this point I dont think that is debatable as for Satele he has proven to be a good O Linemen and a violent run blocker ontop of that, as for those other three spots, those certainly arent set at this point and they certainly shouldn't be and if past performance of a couple of these players is any indication of things to come then they are not the answer anyway (speaking of Mcglynn, Justice and Reitz but mainly Justice and Mcglynn). None of those 3 are long term answers. Coaches start players in traning camp BECAUSE you have to start somewhere not always because "well these ar ethe best and most talented guys", Grigson is familiar with Mcglynn and Justice so that gives them the 'nod' for now, Reitz , well Im still trying to figure that one out, regardless just because those players are starting now it means nothing not even a week into camp

barring injury i believe four of the five spots up front are a done deal. the only opening i believe is at left guard. i look for reitz to win that spot. the only question i think will be do they keep 9 or 10 o linemen. say reitz starts, that leaves shipley olsen link and foster in my opinion as the backups. if they go ten maybe anderson or even tepper. hicks i can see as a practice squad guy anderson too if he doesn't make it. just not enough reps to go around.
