  1. *got this from another Colts board

Reggie was on the Query and Shultz show a bit ago and was talking about a bunch of things.

    1) Apparently Redding gave the speech at halftime to the team. Reggie said he does that sometimes when needed but he gave his speech before halftime on the sidelines, to the O Line. What I gathered is he was telling them to get their **** together and Mike McGlynn didnt like it and he as Reg got into it. Gave each other a 5 after the game, water under the bridge.

    2) That last drive to seal the W he said he heard what Arians called and said to Allen and Hilton "This is where you make your money." Also when all the RBs went down and only Ballard was left he said the same thing "This is where you make your money." and Ballard said "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" Ballard also got hurt and Arians said "NO! You can't get hurt you are all we have left!" Ballard said "Give me my helmet and put me back in."

    3) Reggie was asked outside of Luck which rookie has impressed him the most. He said there were a lot but he said very solidly "Vick Ballard. Vick is ballin right now."

    4) Topic got brought up who the pressure was on for the gave at HOU and he said all the pressure is on them. The Colts have far out played what the expectations were and he said the scary thing is they havent played a whole game of ball. "We still haven't played 60 min of Colts ball. And when we start to mesh and do play that full 60 min of Colts ball we will be unstoppable."

LOL the nerve of Mike Mcglynn arguing with a future HOFer..

  2. If we actually have about 40 million in cap space for next year, that does not mean we have 40 million to just go buy talent. We have a number of guys who have performed well for us who were brought in on 1 year contracts who we have to take care of as well with that money if we want them back.

We will have about 45-50 mil in cap space.. by league rules they would have to spend almost close to that to reach the salary floor..there will be no penny pinching this offseason..not by a long shot..
  3. I've seen Cary Williams' name mentioned a few times - just gonna let it be known that he really isn't good. I live with a Ravens fan, and watch most Ravens games with him.

he probably isn't playing well anymore because Chuck is not there anymore..the Ravens defense has regressed as a whole since Chuck left and back in August we was trying to get him before we got Vontae..

    @nfldraftscout

Already hearing from upcoming free agents who say they'd like to go play with Luck and the #Colts. Players are taking notice.

apparently the guy is a respected writer so maybe this holds some weight but if its true I am really excited for the offseason..I'm pretty sure most players in the league have taken notice and wishing they could be apart of this squad. Negotiations should be pretty easy when its time to lure in the free agents that Grigson has his eye on.

  5. Why not let Luck learn and grow! Why stifle him in a dink and dunk system that would make Matt Cassell look relevant again? Go ahead andpick a WCO team to root for while I hope this miracle season under the "worst QB killing, horrible O scheme" OC/HC advance through the playoffs... in a season where we supposed to finish last and pick first again.

stop acting melodramatic..the man is entitled to his opinion..

  6. A fan's rant on stampede blue:

It's a really hard topic to write about. He had a hand in developing two great QBs in Manning and Rothlesberger. He has helped hold the team together in the wake of Pagano's illness. He is a really likeable guy. That being said, it is not hard to see why he was run out of town in Pittsburgh.

He seems to find a way to self destruct a game as often as he finds a great play to call. His performance in theTitans game was beyond bad today. He continues to telegraph run plays out of the power formation for no gains and losses. He insists on a vertical pass game with no line to protect his QB. He continues to push for below average players to play over those who outplay them (Seth Olson anyone?). His game plan has been a disaster as it has resulted in his QB struggling to complete 50 percentage of his passes and a not so great turnover ratio.

He has to set Luck up to be more successfull. That means running different plays out of the same looks. Don't spread it on pass plays and run out of power formations all the time. Give him so bootlegs, some draws, some short passes to keep the third downs manageable. Luck has really bailed Arians out this year on third down and late in games. Tailor the game plan to what you have to work with. Get the TEs involved more. You spent a 2nd and 3rd pick on two TEs you hardly use.

Arians looks like a failure as an OC when you look at what Seattle, Miami, and Washington have done to help their QBs. If it wasn't for the success the team is having, people would be calling for his head. He needs to be more flexible in what he wants to do and this team would have a lot easier time moving the ball and winning games. I don't want to completely rail on a guy when we are winning, but the more I watch this team the more I think we are winning in spite of him.

  7. Great thread..despite us winning I'm still not a fan of Arians play-calling and how he wants to handcuff Luck to the pocket..you can't put restrictions on a young Qb because it leads to hesitation in decision-making which leads to bad plays occuring..i'm a little dissapointed how Arians has yet tried to make any adjustments to keep the defense honest so Luck doesn't get hit so much..what needs to happen for Arians to realize this? its like the WR bubble screen play is the only short yardage high percentage play he has in his playbook..if he gets offered a HC position in the offseason I wouldn't be mad at all..

  8. to me this is babying the qb. that is why cam is having a bad year. defenses adopted to his college offense.

uh no..the reason Cam is having a bad year is because of his *ic OC..Cam didn't run the option last year but for some reason they started implement it this year..inconsistency in play-calling hurt him because last year he proved to everyone that not only can he run he can also throw from the pocket and run a pro-style offense..
