  1. I agree Lacey played alot better but i dont think he could cover my 4 year old son. I think he has a good idea of where the ball is going but he isnt quick enough to stay with receivers. I say we give him a shot at safety. Make Bethea our run stopper and have Lacey our coverage guy. The guy just isnt quick enogh to stay with WR's in this league.

  2. Yeah 21isSuperman I agree with you. I was wondering why we don't rush 5 guys based off our speed.

Thats what i was telling my wife last weekend. I dont understand why we dont try to some kind of bear defense. We have so much speed on the dline. I say we line up in the bear and see what we have. Whats it gonna hurt? Im just tired of watching the tampa 2 the whole FN game!!
  3. I cant see any way in heck this team gets any better with this current coaching staff. IMO I say from the Polians on down cut em all loose. wth do we have to lose?? To out brilliant coaching staff, I know Painter isnt the best QB to ever play, but if you havent noticed he seems to play a lil better and more loose if you let the guy air it out the first couple of drives. Hey, Clyde max protect for our boy and let him fling a few down the field to Garcon.

  4. IMO I say we ride and die with guy who has given us so much to watch for each Sunday. I think we should draft Luck and see what we can get for him. There are no garuntees in this league, everybody seems to be putting all their eggs in one basket. Sure Luck seems to be the sexy pick right now, but who really knows. I say we ride it out with Peyton and keep our eyes open for someone like Andy Daulton. I thought thats the guy we should have taken last year. I think our real problem lies with our D and Larry Coyer, we need to get rid of his butt!!

  5. Like I have stated over and over, i have never liked the coaching staff we have now. I've never understood why we brought in Coyer to run the exact same defense we have been running for the past decade. I can hear the excuses flying now about all the injuries, and to that. What more oppurtune time to change the defense up and see what play makers we have as back ups, but we'll continue to beat that dead horse. Im pretty sure you give my 4 yr. old enough time and he could figure our tampa 2 that we run almost every single play. Dont get me started on Mr. personality, Jim Calwell. I have never seen a coach show absolutely no emotion the entire season. I would love to see a coach like Jim Harbough or a Rex Ryan on this staff. I say let Peyton run this offense and bring a coach with a attitude to light a fire under this denfenses butt!! Im sure Freeney and Mathis would for us to get one good DT to help them out. I dont understand why Polian wont buck up and help Peyton out with a good O line and let him do the rest. Im convinced we dont even need a pro bowl receiver to make it to the dance. There is so many good athletes these days that Peyton could mold him to the reciever he would want. I believe our window is closing and the Polians have some tough decisions to make. Its gonna be interesting to see what happens. I love my colts, but Irsay needs to put down the sauce and twitter for a little while and monitor his own team.

  6. I think he is a good QB, but our playing calling and O line doesnt help him any. Painter has one of the best deep balls in the league. The guy throws one tight spiral and hes pretty accurate down the field. I just wish our coaching staff would realize that the guy plays alot looser when he throws a few down the field. He seems to tighten up when our play calling is for wr screens and 5yd passes. I say let this guy air it out more. But our play calling on both sides of the ball are terrible! I think its time to let Gonzo walk and Id like to see what David Gilreath can do, the guy has some skills and is quick as heck. Ive been a Painter supporter even when most of the people were blasting him on here since he became our backup. This guy has a hard enough job just backing up Peyton, let alone trying to throw with one jacked up O line. This staff fails to realize strengths and always follows protocol. This teams has no fire under its *!

  7. Being close to the louisville area, i get to see quite a bit of Chichester who plays for the Louisville Cards. He was Wr who was converted to TE but could be used for either. Just wondering what you all thought on Indy going after a guy like this. He is 6'8 with good hands but not the explosiveness you would like to see from a NFL wide receiver. Ive just wanted to see what Peyton could do with somebody with size. Im not saying draft this guy in the first round or anything but id rather have somebody like him on the roster than Anthony G. who sees about 3 games a year. It doesnt even have to be Chichester, just thoughts on us going after a bigger wr? Throw some names out there so I can check them out on youtube.

  8. I hate saying this, but I think Reggie will be gone. IMO i would keep Mathis and let Reg and Saturday walk, even though I think Peyton will try to keep them both. I would just like to see what this offense would be like if we went after a big receiver like Vincent Jackson or someone with his measurables. I really wish Bill Polian and Jim Caldwell was a free agent next year.

  9. I'm interested to see what are some peoples thoughts on Jeff Fisher as a possiblity. He has made it known that he still wishes to coach and I believe Indy would be a great fit.

-He has knowledge of our division and knows what it takes to beat each team which could only help us.

-Not that it is says a whole lot but he was spotted wearing a Peyton Manning jersey at a press conference which to me shows he has a certain level of respect for Peyton and this team.

-He is a actual head coach that makes choices on personnel and takes risks. I remember when we played them a few years back he attempted all those onside kicks because he knew the Titans clearly weren't the better team yet he took risks that gave his team atleast a shot, something Caldwell would never do.

-He's firey, something different than we've seen in years past. Maybe that defense needs a match lit under their ___ to actually go out and do something.

    Thoughts?

Give me Jim Tressel...IMO I say we start over with a whole new staff. I never understood why we hire a new def. coordinator to do the same thing the last one did??? I know the Polians love them some big ten action, so why not Tressel? I get sick and tired of no fire under this coaching staff! I had enough of that under a good coach Dungy, but its time for a change. Please someone light a fire under this teams *!! I understand we dont have one of the best Qbs in the league starting right now, but im looking for our future. I just wonder what our team confidence would be like if we had someone like a Rex Ryan or a Jim Harbaugh. I know it would have to be better than the same stoned face conversation they see in the locker room every week. I know I would react different or better to someone on my * or firing my * up than the same monotone voice "come on guys i know you can do it" every week!! GIVE US HOOSIERS A LIL SOMETHING US BLUE COLLAR FOLKS WORK SO HARD FOR TO SEE ON SUNDAYS!!

  10. i dont think a high school team would hire caldwell christensen , and coyer

I still dont know why we even hired Coyer. If anything it looks our D has got worse! Besides the colts who in the heck would Lacey and our right tackle be starting for?? Its almost comical watching our team this year. Im not sure where to lay the blame. Lacey cant man up against my three yr old. Then i see we put in Jerry Hughes on our goal line D???? wth?? Can we please go after John Gruden please. Which ever Polian is making the decisions, like keeping Jamie Richard and letting Kyle Devan go. GOOD JOB! Has our DT's got any kind of pressure this year? I bet ya Freeney and Mathis would love someone to give them a lil help up the middle. I just wish our front office would make some of the decisions like the Pats make. They atleast recognize their weaknesses and decide to go after them. Indy's stubborn * just seems to stick with the same scenario year after year. If they just went after one bad * defensive tackle, do you realize how much better freeney and mathis would be?? GOOD WORK TEAM!! sorry for the rant....disgruntled fan here!

  11. I just wish we would swallow our pride and let Donald Brown go. I would much rather have Evans instead of watching Donald run up our O lines A** every game. Evans at least looks to bounce it outside and looks to take on tacklers. Im sorry, im all for giving a guy a shot, but Donald just isnt cutting it.

  13. 10 reasons why this won't happen.

    1. Peyton will play at least 14 games this season, which means we will make the playoffs.

    2. Whoever is getting the #1 pick will likely have a need for a QB (we don't), and will never give this pick up. Especially now that the new CBA has made less painful the signing of rookies.

    3. This won't happen.

    4. The Colts simply don't have enough picks or players for a team to be interested in coughing up the #1 pick.

    5. Luck would do nothing for 4 years.

    6. This won't happen.

    7. The Colts would be mortgaging the remainder of Manning's career in the hopes that some unproven college kid could get us winning again. Colossal waste of Manning's last years.

    8. I promise you, Luck will never be what Manning is.

    9. This won't happen.

    10. If you needed this many reasons, you are dumb.

Wow, because you have a list of your own reasons and you can count up to ten. Doesnt mean that someone is dumb. Im glad you have faith in Peyton starting in all 14 games, but if you havent noticed his health is in decline. All it takes is one hit. I just understand the need of a QB in this league. It seems you are putting all your chips on Peyton being healthy the next four yrs. Im not, the guy is 35 and needs to have an apprentice in the waiting. Have we all been blinded by Peytons greatness that we put him on some higher level than injury or age?? Im not one for waiting til the year he retires then trying to find his successor. I say let a kid learn from one of the best Qbs to ever play the game. And to point number 8. who will ever be able to live up to Peyton??

  14. Please tell me why the colts should get rid of painter? is it because he didnt keep the undefeated season alive or because he doesnt have starter stats in the preseason smh.

I think we might be the only 2 ppl in the world who wants Painter to get a chance. Like I said earlier, is Reggie Wayne just that much of a team player or does he really see something in Painter in practice. I dont ever remember him taking for Sorgi this way.

  15. I would prefer to address the quarterback position once Peyton hangs them up. Sign a free agent, trade some draft picks to move up in the draft, make a trade. Green Bay got lucky with Aaron Rodgers, a) for him falling in the draft b) for him developing the way that he did. You have to remember for 3 years he took up a roster spot that could have been used for another weapon for Favre, or a player on their defense. He was a wasted roster spot. In hindsight it worked out great for them, but I don't think it is something you can bank on each and every time nor is drafting the #1 QB. There are plenty of examples that disprove that one.

I would prefer to Manning and the offense have an extra weapon, lineman or a defender that can help the team for 3 years as opposed to slowly developing and not helping the team for a number of years.

Now if something freaky were to happen and Manning goes on IR and we end up 1-15, or 0-16, then it might change my opinion, but even then with Andrew Luck sitting there... If he sits for 3+ years, it's a wasted spot without a guarantee.

I guess you never seen the kid California play who took over for that Bret Favre guy. Think he turned out to be pretty good QB and i think they are favorites to win the super bowl again this year. (Aaron Rodgers)

  16. Do simple math and the answer becomes clear. Peyton signed a five year deal. After two years Manning will be in the last three years of that deal and maybe his career. That puts you in the window to draft the QB after Manning who can back him up till he retires. That also means the Colts don't have to go find a back up QB next year. It's a very smart move.

I think this is one of the worst moves i have seen the Colts make. So you're telling me you would pay Collins 4 million over 2 years for what? Im not sure that money was spent very wisely. I would have rather us signed T.O. or Moss and let Painter do his thing. I know im gonna catch heck for that one, but doesnt it say something when our number 1 receiver feels so strongly to give the guy a chance. I just think that over half the money we had left on the cap was spent too hastily. Believe me i hope it works out, but i say give the kid (Painter) a shot. And from just watching the panel of Monday Night Countdown, I think we both are in agreement this could be a mistake for Indy. Guess we will see. PS. Take it easy on me for the Painter comments. I know there is alot of Painter haters out there.

  17. To me when im watching our pre season games, its just more than missed tackles. It looks like we are just going through the motions. And having Lacey as one of our starting corner scares the heck out of me. I know its pre-season, but im not sure if this years D can just turn it on. If you're gonna be on the field at least give me the same motor and intensity NEVIS gives. BEAST MODE is on!!

  18. Believe me, I know we have our backup QB problems, but have we gained 10 yds on the ground yet? I know Painter hasnt shown signs of a pro QB, but he sure isnt gettin help from the ground game. It seems like ever since we let Lilja go, we cant run the ball at all. Not saying he was the main key, but as i look at our roster and see our guys measurables. They seem to stack up with other O lines in the league. Is it technique, coaching or just flat will??

  19. But it is not like it isn't done. Now, I am talking in the 80s. Mark Bortz was a pretty good defensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Bears drafted him and made him an offensive guard, which seemed so bizarre to me. And he played it very well, with no college experience at it. As I mentioned, Darryl Grant was an offensive lineman in college, and the Redskins made him a defensive tackle, and he was pretty good.

Heck, Joe Reitz appears to be a starting offensive guard now on the Colts will no college football experience. Sure, it has taken three years to get there, but he did it.

I honestly think it is a good question by the original poster. Not that they will do it. McClendon supposed to be so strong and intelligent. If he can't be a starter in the offensive line, it would be interesting to see if he had anything for playing DT.

Thanks, my post was basically trying to see if he could help the team in any way. He just seems to intelligent and too strong not to help this team. From what ive seen of him on the O line it just doesnt seem to be meshing right now. I have been watching the team try different scenarios this yr more than others and thought why not. If anything just a situational guy, maybe on the goal line or 3rd and short for our D. I understand all the posts saying this isn't madden, i get that, but what would it hurt. It beats putting this guy on the roster and hardly ever seeing him on the field.
