Sorry but as a lifelong Colts fan from Baltimore and still one today, I watch EVERY SINGLE GAME on Direct tv. I am just not sure Luck will ever live up tp his billing, Forget the yards and touchdowns , will this guy ever learn to read a defense and check off , yea I know the line has been a problem but this guy continues to throw into double coverage and his on one week off one week and saying every week in his pressers I made some bad decisions is getting a little old . Fans I am just not sure if he will ever be as good as advertised . Thoughts?????

Of course he just ask Pagano and Grigson they would not have jobs if it where not for him

After the dust is settled and all the fury and frustration of the season calmed down maybe it's worth to look back and speculate on the reasons what could possibly go wrong and how we were able to miss the playoffs for the second time in a row with arguably one of the best QBs of our time. I'm eager to hear about your thoughts and here you have mines.

I think the Colts failed because the mediocrity has been more and more tolerated in the past years. The draftees of our front office and some of the FAs became indeed starters in a relative large percentage but would they actually be starters on other playoff teams' rosters? I doubt it, they are rather just serviceable guys with 'horseshoe' character but they played mediocre and inconsistent football for us.

How about the coaching? Tell me how you felt when Pagano clapped after the missed fake field goal in Oakland or when he just listened to the justifications of Allen after the personal foul penalty instead of letting him shut up and benching him right away. Mistakes like that should be unacceptable for a HC. It's nice to have a good group of guys and a sort of family in the locker room but that's what you get when you pat the back of your players after they made mistakes: more mistakes. When you accept mediocre play justified by 'the effort was there' you will get more mediocre play.

Once I heard Mr. Irsay to call the dynasty of the Patriots as a model for success. Then maybe he should also force our FO and the coaches to follow Belichick's cruel mindset on mistakes and mediocrity. If our owner, the GM and the HC don’t expect perfectly excellent execution from the players on every play they won’t get it. As long as they tolerate the missed blocks, the missed tackles, the fumbles and interceptions they will see them on the field. As long as they set the priority of the draft board on character instead of talent they will get the Bjoerns and Thortons instead of playmakers. As long as the Colts tolerate mediocrity in our house it will slowly but steadily infiltrate every football operation. Let’s just hope that the ownership recognizes and fights it sooner rather than later.

It's also kind of imperative to not be burdened with a coach that goes for a fake field goal in a must win, scoreless game.

Until that problem solves itself the rest is all kind of a moot point.

In Luck's five years today was the 35 offensive line change. I believe he was only hit once today and no sacks and three rookies in the OL. The Colts had two drives of 90+ yards. Luck going in to today's game was sacked 152 times. Today was almost unbelievable when you look at how well they played. I don't think anyone can say exactly why but if they show this against the Raiders then they can beat them. What a shame the Texans and Titans pulled their games out of their hats.

What a shame we lost to Texans twice and the Jags

Steve Young who happens to be very smart drew and quartered Grigson for having little idea on how to build this team and everyone else on the panel nodded in agreement. I know this is an old topic but the way Young pulled no punches he all but declared Grigson a blithering * and Luck will pay the price and already is. Thank you Steve Young.

So, Chuck has said it.       It's game ON!!       He says this week is playoff football.

We're facing a hot team with one of the hottest offenses in the league of late.      This is NOT the same Titans team we faced 4-5 weeks ago.

Indy really has its work cut out for itself.      The difference may just come down to home field advantage.

Here's the story from NFL.com which listened to Pagano's weekly media address...

Playoff football in November!     Love it!      Game ON!!        Enjoy!!

    To the bolded:

    1) Why would they just outright release him when he clearly does have some trade value? He can catch, and he's a great blocking TE. At minimum they'd be able to get at least a draft pick in return, and not have to eat that cash. And to call him the "dumbest decision" is pretty far off base. I could rattle off 3 moves that were far worse (signing Landry Jones, not re-signing Jerrell Freeman, drafting Bjoern Werner). Having Allen on the team isn't such a bad thing when you compare it to those 3.

    2) I love Doyle and Swoope, but neither have the blocking skillset that Allen has. Doyle is a poor man's Dallas Clark (and I mean that in the BEST way possible, I love me some Doyle, and want him to be part of the plan long-term). As far as Swoope goes, he's still just scratching the surface, we don't really know what we have in him yet. It looks promising, but his all around game is still pretty raw.

All in all, I like the TE depth that the Colts have right now, and that includes Allen, even though he does have a bad game from time to time and struggles to stay healthy.

You guys won't believe this. I lost last week and the week before, BOTH times because a player was a late scratch due to sickle cell. John Brown a few weeks ago (was the SNF game, Snead had 17 points on my bench, lost by 7) and Ty Montgomery last week (Theo Riddick with 27 points in his first game back, Montgomery was scratched after the 1 pm games started, lost by 25). Horrible luck

They should have a system that replaces that player with the next player up only in non money games same thing has happened to me many times.
