Have you guys seen some of the backup's playing in recent games in this league? Not many of them look as athletic or accurate as CK. No doubt he would be picked up, especially after a decently strong showing in preseason.
Sounds like he's practicing with the team today. My bet is he is on the 53 and we will carry 3 QB's for the rest of the year.

Some of the posts in this thread are the most drastic over reactions for a second year player who barely played in preseason and reigning DROY that I’ve ever seen.
Takes a season to build trust and 1-2 plays to completely break it eh?
Show some damn patience and open your eyes. He’s not always going to be the star of the game with non stop big plays. He’s young and will go through his lumps.

If we win on Sunday, we are tied for the Division lead. I'll take that :).

I'll tell you he looked leagues better then Cam Newton did last night.

I love that Peyton is around the complex. Really hope a day comes when he's there as an official part of the front office/coaching staff. He's such a great football mind that this team would improve with him around.

That is great. Here is Atlantic City , it's either Eagles or Giants. Cant remember the last Colts non prime-time/playoff game that was broadcast in this area
NJ residents represent! Fond memories of AC, went to school down that way.
Excited I don't have to stream the game this weekend.

Why would you have Brissett with 50 yards rushing? He is not a running QB, nor is he very fast. he picks good times to pull it down and run but hopefully he doesn't have to do that too often.
First game jitters resorting to a couple of longer 3rd down runs. I agree he's not a running QB by any means but he most certainly can break off a 15-20 yard run, especially with some of our deep threats spacing the field.

I actually think this is going to be a great game for our defense and Jacoby is going to surprise many out of the gate.
31-14 Colts.
Jacoby 3 TDs, 310 yards passing, 50 yards rushing.
Hilton, Doyle, Mack & Hines with TDs.
Malik Hooker with 1 INT.

I honestly think Jacoby throws a better deep ball and will be more consistent then Luck. Luck was incredible but I felt he was also incredibly streaky at times. Really interested to see how this season turns out.

Maybe Phillip is just very competent at running the scout team and simulating game plans.

You know what's great? He suffered through that 2017 season but that season got us so many of the impact players he's going to lead this season.

What about a $1,000 bet for the division crown? I think it’s very doable.

Can you imagine if Luck decided to return and Peyton Manning re-joined the organization in a front office roll at the same time?
Indianapolis would explode.

This is kind of telling.
This screams to me that the team felt the injury wasn't that severe and he could play/practice on it and somewhat tried pushing him in a direction. All in or all out, no in between.

JB looks like he is handling this well and looks like a starting QB.
He did alright. Definitely could tell he was very nervous which is entirely understandable. His charisma showed though and he defaulted to humor in some of those moments.
Not sure why they threw him out there already. Maybe they just wanted to get it out of the way and over with?

I think we should slow down a bit on Hentges being Jack's replacement. He hasn't played in a regular season NFL game yet and people forget that the tools Jack brings aren't easily replicated.
I could easily see us keeping Ebron, JD, MAC, & Hentges. JD & Ebron are UFA's after this year. If they both stay healthy this year and produce, I feel we will pay both of them. Having quality depth is never a bad thing, especially when it's cheap and on rookie deals.
Then in 2022 maybe we decide to let Ebron or JD go test the market.

I agree, But has House said Luck will be ready week 1? Luck has said he is "Targeting a week 1 return".... Why is House, a motion and passing guru, working so closely with Luck? Is the calf/bone/who knows issue causing him issues in his passing too?
Luck working with House may just be a natural progression to his rehab for the shoulder injury from last season. No reported information would suggest that Luck is working with him to assist with the calf injury. My guess is, Luck is working with House to continuously improve his throwing motion and would have been working with him regardless if he was dealing with the calf stuff or not.

I think everyone is just a bit overly worried. The last we heard from Reich is that he is strengthening the muscle and actively working out. We also have heard numerous times that he is throwing consistently behind the scenes and working with Tom House.
Just yesterday it was reported that someone who watched one of those private throwing sessions said Luck was throwing the heck out of the ball.
Is there an injury, yes. Is the injury going to prevent from starting week 1, no.

So excited to see Farley back. It’s crazy to start seeing pretty good depth across this team.

Haha that pump fake on the second throw. Looking like his uncle Peyton.
I wonder if Peyton will push Marshall to play football.

Oh Collie with Peyton. The connection we missed out on.

Some of my favorite Luck tidbits come from his teammates in game. I love watching SoundFx or similar productions that have in-game video of someone on the O or D commenting on how good Luck is. I think it was Leonard this past season that had a quote that went something like "Man, that 12 is something else, something else".
Seeing teammates get hyped up for their other teammates when they do something good is always fun to watch.

I'm actually pretty surprised we waived him. I will be more surprised if no one else pick's him up.
