Im starting to think all of this may be true after reading a report this morning that the Docs are concerned with his shoulder and feel he may need another surgery. I think if he has to go through another surgery, he might very well just retire. Sad thing is, it may or may not be before the draft which would suck if it is after the draft. Because if he does it before the draft it gives the Colts and who ever the new head coach will be plenty of options. Should the colts draft a QB in the first round? get Josh Allen? or wait until the 2nd or 3rd round and go after Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta ? or ride another year with Brissett and draft a QB next year?

    Source on the luck report?

First....    not sure what Ballard said that would make anyone conclude that we're not trading down, and instead just staying where we are and picking at three.    I don't think CB said anything that tipped his hand one way or another.

Second....   we have roughly $80-plus million dollars to spend.   So Ballard HAS to spend most of that.  Don't we have to be CLOSE to 89 percent most every year?   That alone forces his hand to a certain extent.   Even if Ballard want to save money for the 19 free agency he can still sign guys to one year deals.   He's not boxed in.

Ballard is very good at answering questions without saying and revealing very much.  Good for him.   Not so good for us fans.

He sounds confident he can put a much better team on the field in '18.   Please let it be true.

I thought we had to spend the majority of the cap we have. have to spend it on someone

    I think it's 89% over a 4 year period.

I agree that the Rooneys will quiet all that noise and Tomlin will be back.

To the bolded, if they calm down the egos and fix the discipline issue -- not saying they will, but let's assume they do -- you're still going to have a big playoff game where the coach has to make big decisions and manage the clock to put a game away. In those areas, I think Tomlin pushed all the wrong buttons on Sunday. They might not have been able to actually complete the comeback, but Tomlin basically cost them a good shot at it with his bad clock management.

And attention to detail is something that goes for or against the head coach. That onside kick was one of the worst executed kicks I can remember, especially in a big situation.

That game would have been tied if they didnt go for the onside kick which led to the field goal for the jaguars (which was the score difference).
