  1. Good Job Overpayed for De La Puente and Nicks and Clemons

I might have. I didn't do this meaning this is where I think players should sign and what they should get. It's where I think they will go, and what I think they will get. I honestly do think Clemons contract is a little high, I should have been more careful. he's probably closer to 4year/18M$. DLP- maybe 3-4M$ high. Nicks is tough to say. All depends on his market.

  2. Alright guys. I've spent a couple days on this. Had to keep editing as teams re-signed players and made cuts. I don't expect things to pan out exactly like this, but I think it will be close. It's tough determining which DT will go to which team.

Contracts are simply years and total. Not worried about bonuses or guaranteed and such.

Put all the Colts signings at the bottom together.

As deals and terms are announced I'll update :)

Hopefully you guys don't bash it too hard.
  3. He's a kicker. There is no disadvantage of a new system or something. He already has a ton of jewelry from the NFL. Why wouldn't he want to maximize his value?

    HGRekks BINGO!!!

You guys really think that A guy at 41 with 4 rings wants to move his family for 1 maybe 2 years, over 1M$?? I'm sure he's been smart enough with his money that it isn't an issue. Like I said, unless the Colts simply don't want him back for anything other than league minimum.

  4. I just don't understand Adam V leaving. At 41, does he really want to go to a new team for 1 or 2 years? I can't see us offering him 2 years 4M$ total, and him saying "No, I want 5M$" We must simply want to draft a kicker for cheap and put that 1-2M$ a year into another position.

  5. There are other corners out there, if we lose Davis. None of them will be as good, but I don't think losing Davis means we fall to 8-8.  He would have to be replaced by someone, DRC? Munerrlyn? Talib? I don't know. But if we do end up only spending 6M$ on a corner, then we NEED a ballhawk FS, so Byrd. Byrd or Davis we need one. I don't expect both, but we need one.

  6. For 8-9M$/year I think we have to at least call and talk to him. We need a safety any ways, so lets try to land him. I think he is more of a luxury though. I think the Colts are more interested in Arthur Jones and Davis. Those 2 could cost us 16+M/year. Getting Byrd at 9 leaves us with roughly 10M$ left? We still need a K, C, G and maybe WR? I suppose it's possible. Get Goodwin at C for 3M$, kicker for 2M$, draft Oline and WR with our remaining 5M$? It's tight, but possible.

  7. I'd rather give Nicks 3 years/15M than Decker 4 years/30M. The bargain contracts is what can push us to the next level. However, I think the ONLY wr we should sign would be one to eventually replace Reggie. I don't think either of them will. Signing either of them would basically be saying goodbye to Brazil or Rodgers or Whalen. If that was the case, I'd let Brazil go.

  8. I'm kind of glad it's been quiet. Can you imagine what the forums would be like if there were reports of us contacting, Byrd, Mack, Verner, Hester, Jones, Munnerlyn and Ward? This place would be a zoo

  9. The reason it won't happen is in case of injury. IF Pat is doing both, do we have a back up on the bench? If we don't, do we send Gosder out to kick for us? 2 roster spots need to be set aside for kickers. Is there a big difference between a good punter and a good kicker, or Pat who does both, and some guy who can fill in if we need him? Probably not. At the very least we need to draft someone in the 7th who can kick, and maybe teach to punt.

  10. Mock drafts are so hard to do before free agency. A few days ago everyone was wanting Skov. Now that we've signed D'Qwell, I doubt we go after Skov unless he falls to the 5th round. A lot want us to draft a FS early, if we get Byrd, I doubt we go after a FS. Some want Baptiste early, if we keep Davis, then cut Toler and get Shields or Munnerlyn, again I doubt we get a CB early.  The draft is about filling holes in the first 3-4 rounds, then depth in 5-7. We know what our holes are now, but not what they will be come the draft.

  11. I'd rather give 5M$/year for Asamoah, Shwartz or even Wharton, where we know we are getting a plug and play starter. I don't want to take a chance on "PFTs 80/81 ranked guard" becomes "good." I'm all for giving him maybe a 2 year 5M$ deal as a depth move. I don't know if he can play OT or not, but you can never have too much depth on our OL.

  12. The only bright side to Davis walking would be the ability to sign Byrd. We would still need a CB obviously though. So you go get a cheaper CB like Shields to take over for Davis, then draft a CB to replace Toler next year.  You would have 2 high paid safeties, but Shields would be your high paid CB at ~7M$, this years draft choice would be under 1M$, Toler at 4/5M$? and Butler at like 2M$?  Doesn't sound too unrealistic. Specially if you look at 2015 when we can cut Toler if we want.
